Consumer Complaint: Account Type : Charged Off - Account Filed Date : XX/XX/XXXX - Account Amount : XXXX - Account Closed Date : XX/XX/XXXX - Comments : BK OF AMER '' Above is the only information the SEC was able to pull from my background check in order to complete my registration they are needing verification information that this debt has been resolved. In XXXX or XXXX the balance of the account was transferred to my now ex-wife 's card. Over the next year THAT card was paid off. Her card was not with BOA it was an independent card and I do not remember what kind it was, maybe a XXXX. Anyways, it was not charged off to a collection agency. My employer is needing paperwork to complete my hiring process. When I have contacted BOA, their automated system will not allow passage unless you have an account number or a SS number. This account is so old the system does not recognize my SS. The only department I can get to a live person is the CC application department and they do not have access to archived records. When/If they transfer me, it just puts me back into the automated system que. I also went into a local BOA branch, and they can not pull up information on this account again, because of the age of it. They could only give me a number to call which of course brought me back to the gatekeeping automated system. I need to speak to a live person in both the Credit Card archive department and the Mortgage department to get paperwork for both the closed-out card and the foreclosed mortgage from XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I attempted to do a balance transfer using my XXXX app to transfer a balance of {$8400.00} to pay off my Bank of America credit card and it kept saying it wouldn't go through. On XX/XX/2023 I called XXXX and a rep was able to help me with a balance transfer that I decreased to {$7400.00}. On XX/XX/2023 Bank of America received money from XXXX in both amounts for a total {$15000.00} in which it took months of phone calls to get reversed. So finally, on XX/XX/2023, Bank of America sent XXXX back {$8400.00}, but XXXX is saying they never received it. I have called both banks MANY times and have not gotten anywhere. XXXX is asking Bank of America to send me proof of the wire transfer with accounts and routing numbers which I have yet to receive. On XX/XX/XXXX Bank of America sent me a letter saying that they had attempted to return the money to XXXX, but it wouldnt go through so they were gon na cut me a check. I got the check shortly after and I attempted to cash it but they had stopped payment. So I either need a check again or they need to put the money back in my account. And if they are still saying, they sent it to XXXX prove it, because XXXX is saying they do not have it.

Consumer Complaint: My unfortunate experience was related to a fraudulent scheme involving " pig butchering ''. When I attempted to make a withdrawal, the scammers demanded a tax payment. Regrettably, I was deceived into depositing my funds onto a server engaged in cryptocurrency mining. I initially encountered these scammers on XXXX, and the primary mode of communication with them was via XXXX. They managed to persuade me to invest my money in an exchange with the promise of generating profits. During several transactions conducted between XXXX and XX/XX/2022, I deposited my funds. However, when I sought to withdraw my funds I was unexpectedly required to pay a substantial additional fee. Despite my numerous attempts to seek clarification and retrieve my funds by reaching out to them, my inquiries were met with silence.

Consumer Complaint: My Bank of America credit card was used for a fraudulent {$170.00} charge at XXXX XXXX number XXXX in XXXX NJ. My claim was denied by BoA because they somehow determined my physical card was used. This is impossible because I the card was with me and my card must have been copied or skimmed somewhere. I just opened a police report with XXXX XXXX and am registering a complaint with CFPB as this is outrageous. At the time the fraudulent charge occurred, BoA actually sent me an alert text message asking me if I approve the charge. This means BoA itself knew this charge was potentially fraudulent immediately! My claim denial makes no sense and others / BoA need to be aware of how long time customers ( since XXXX ) are treated.

Consumer Complaint: Yesterday I deposited a {$66000.00} check from an insurance company. I can understand Bank of America putting a hold on that account due to the large amount of money it is I had a balance of {$760.00} in my account. I made a few payments Which the {$760.00} wouldve covered. But what Bank of America did is deduct {$560.00} out of my account from a check that cleared on XX/XX/XXXX from my employment. Ive worked at the same company for over XXXX years never had any issues with those checks the bank could not give me a reason why they took this money out Seven days later when I have already been paying on that deposit, this caused my account to be all overdrawn by {$300.00} and not have access to my own money. They said they need to investigate it and it could clear up in seven days that is unethical and it is not right for a bank to take money that is not there to take. Have outstanding credit I have never overdrawn my account. I have never bounced the check. I have good banking practices and what theyre doing is wrong.

Consumer Complaint: A Bank of America Charge Card showed on my Credit report Acct ending in ( XXXX ). There was a {$5200.00} charge to this account that was open XX/XX/XXXX. This account was closed in XXXX of XXXX. I received notification on my credit report ( XXXX ) that my score dropped due to non payment. The account was closed and Bank of America charged it off. I filed a police report and a fraud theft report when I found this had happened. This account was created in Nevada. The person had my name, SSN & DOB. I was not the person who established this accounts. I am from Virginia. I have never lived in Nevada, nor have I ever had any account with Bank of America. I was told by XXXX that Bank of America notified them on XXXXXXXX to put the credit issue back on my report that they determined the accounts to be non-fraudulent. I have spent countless hours on the phone with BOA trying to get this resolved.

Consumer Complaint: My partner found a place from XXXXXX/XX/XXXX place. We started talking to a guy named XXXX XXXX through XXXX, and then we all switched talking through emails and XX/XX/XXXX We scheduled to view the place and he was able to provide us with a gate code and key lock box code. My partner and I were desperate to move in so we decided to go through the credit score check, and background check. Therefore, we provided him with our personal information such as our drivers license, and SSN. We were informed that we got approved. We signed the lease he made, turns out it was a fake lease agreement form. XX/XX/XXXX I paid him the first month of rent of {$1500.00} and the deposit {$1500.00}. Total of {$3000.00} was sent through wire transfer. XX/XX/XXXX was supposed to be our move-in date. My partner and I packed, rented a XX/XX/XXXX and went to the place to meet XXXX XXXX in person to get the key, but he did not show up and blocked our numbers so we couldn't get a hold of him. The neighbor next door popped up and said the unit has been rented already, and the people who manages the apartment is agency called XXXX, not XXXX XXXX. I called the XXXXXX/XX/XXXXagency and they confirmed that the unit has been rented. They also said someone has been targeting their property to scam people. I was advised by them to file a police report and call my bank immediately to get the transaction disputed because that was a fraud/scam. XXXX XXXX XXXX stole XXXXXX/XX/XXXX ( Real Estate ) identity to scam me. He even provided me the license number to make it seems like he is real. I reported it to my bank ( Bank Of America ), but unfortunately I received a letter that they were unsuccessful to recover the funds. I called my bank to get an explanation why, and they said because the scammer 's bank institution ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) did not respond and cooperate. Therefore, my bank denied my claim and told me they're not able to re-submit the claim for reconsideration.

Consumer Complaint: Bank of America reported that I used there accounts fraudulently. That information they reported was fraudulently, my account was compromised and I received a call from Boa & I notified them that it wasnt me and they indeed said the fraudulent action that was taken on my account would be canceled and then they mentioned a few days later my account would be closed. Ive been disputing this for months and they said it was verified as in they did not take the extra steps to verify any signatures on the fraudulent check that was deposited, IP address or anything as in it wasnt me. The company responded with a mailer stating that the fraud information they noted on my XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX that was false was no longer reported and listed as they removed it but it is still listed and Im still getting denied and declined for bank accounts. They have lied again just as they lied and put this false information on my report, lied and said they removed it and its not reporting which it is.
