Issue: Trouble during payment process
Subissue: Payment process
Consumer Complaint: There are 3 issues - 1. Bank of America increased our interest rate on our mortgage loan without adequate notification. If we had known that the interest rate was increasing, we would have paid off the loan earlier. It had been customary for Bank of America to call me directly via my Bank of America Financial Advisor in the past when any of the terms of my mortgage was changing. This did not occur and we were not timely aware of the increase in interest rate. We had asked Bank of America to reconsider the massive interest rate jump from 3 % to 8 %. This interest is now been charged for 3 months and appears excessive. 2. We asked for a pay off quote and received it via a complicated encryption. Upon figuring it out, we paid off the loan on Friday, XX/XX/XXXX for a total of {>= $1,000,000}. Despite the payment, we continued to receive collection notices including and through XX/XX/XXXX we received a collection email letter from Bank of America claiming that we are late and owe the mortgage payment for XXXX months. We called Bank of America today to inquire and to add salt to injury, were informed that the payment has not been applied to our account and hence continues to accrue interest. We requested that the payment be applied retroactive to XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX. Bank of America has chosen to delay their communications and review of our account and as a result, forced the account to continue to accrue interest. Hence, Bank of America continues to earn interest via delay tactics and on a notice that was not properly communicated. All of that interest should be refunded.

Consumer Complaint: BoA XXXX On XX/XX/2023, at XXXX, I noticed an unauthorized transaction {$99.00}, made payable to XXXX. My XXXX XXXX showed no authorized payment in process, but a ( - {$99.00} ) nevertheless appeared in my Bank of America Ledger. I contacted XXXX and requested a refund. The Refund reflected on my Ledger almost immediately, " in process or processing ''. Later, at XXXX, the Ledger Changed. The Refund was no longer " Processing '', but " Authorized ''. The {$99.00} sum is in the body of the ledger description, and says " PENDING XXXX ''. In the years that I that have deal. In the amount category, " -- ''. If I search for " XXXX '', the only result is the original debit. If I search for " PENDING '', the search results contain every ledger entry containing the word Pending, except the Uber refund. Let me be clear, search the ledger for " Pending '' or " XXXX '' does not result in the finding the XXXX refund. This combined with the used of the word " Authorized '', suggests that some entries my account, from the BiA side, and altered my ledger. This is a new event, but explains Ledger Inconsistencies, which have occurred during the past few days. For instance, yesterday I ran into a non-chronological entry on the BoA Ledger ; or rather, a set of non chronological entries Ledger entries for XX/XX/XXXX down to XX/XX/XXXX seemed normal. After XX/XX/XXXX came XX/XX/XXXX. But, after XX/XX/XXXX, a set of Ledger entries starting with XX/XX/XXXX began. This suggested to me that I had caught someone interfering with my ledger.

Subissue: Old information reappears or never goes away
Consumer Complaint: I am XXXX XXXX, and Im submitting this complaint myself there is no third party involved. I attached letters to let you know more in detail about what they are reporting in my credit report. There are inaccuracies that existed on my credit report. The bureaus display the Date of the Last Payment differently : XXXX says XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XX/XX/XXXXXXXX and this is not showing on the XXXX report. This is clearly a violation according to FCRA 611 on reporting inaccurate on my credit report.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, someone placed an online order using my credit card at a XXXX for {$640.00}, and then they tried to purchase roughly {$900.00} worth of merchandise at XXXX, which Bank of America denied due to suspicious activity. Within the hour, I reported this as fraud, and Bank of America opened an investigation and sent me a new card. On XX/XX/XXXX, Bank of America got back to me and denied my fraud claim saying that " I received the merchandise '', which isn't true since I didn't purchase it and wasn't in the same city where the transaction occurred. After this, they published the transaction to my credit card statement, so I'm currently on the hook for the {$640.00}.
