Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: On Saturday XX/XX/XXXX I received a text message for my cash reward card ending in XXXX for a purchase of {$1900.00} at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that was declined and asked if I authorized this activity which I immediately answered no and the card was canceled BOA sent out a replacement card, I had a family emergency that day when I got home and couldn't find either of my BOA card I freaked out and checked on my mobile app where I found the same charge with same merchant same dollar amount went through on my other BOA travel reward card ending in XXXX, I immediately called BOA over the phone and reported the unauthorized activity, explained that both cards were not in my possession along with the cardholder I kept them in, the agent filed the claim and replaced my travel reward card. It is ridiculous how the {$1900.00} triggered the alarm the first time but went through right after with another card, if I received the fraud alarm for this {$1900.00} charge on my travel reward card, this charge would never make it through! More ridiculous, on XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from BOA saying they were unable to refund me because the merchant provided documentation that confirmed I received the merchandise & services. How is this even possible? I don't even know what this {$1900.00} have bought, how can I receive something purchased with a card that was not even in my possession that I have no clue what those were? It is unlawful for the consumer to be liable for unauthorized purchase, I have been a faithful client of BOA since XXXX, but if this is how BOA protects it clients, it leaves me no choice but take my banking elsewhere and take necessary legal actions to protect myself.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX or XX/XX/2023 I sent Bank of America a NON-NEGOTIABLE NOTICE OF ADVERSE ACTION FOR DENIAL OF CREDIT due to their adverse actions against myself as a consumer is AGAINST THE LAW according to the Equal Credit Opportunity Act which is codified in the 15 U.S.C. 1691c and is pursuant to civil liability under 15 U.S.C. 1691k. I originally applied for a line of credit with Bank of America in XXXX or XX/XX/2023 but was illegally denied. Banks are extending lines of credit based on consumer 's own social security accounts which are linked to the US Treasury. Banks are not loaning their own assets or stocks as this is a violation of 12 USC 83. Banks are simply needed as the intermediate party to allow consumers to access their own credit connected to their social security accounts. When I wrote Bank of America via certified mail in XXXX or XX/XX/2023 to inform them of the violation, and to give them an opportunity to fix their error, they performed an unauthorized credit check with XXXX in XX/XX/2023. In XX/XX/2023 I had not given Bank of America permission to check my credit report and so this is an additional complaint. Most likely with this complaint, Bank of America will check my credit again without my permission, so I will just request the contact information for the department that accepts litigation notices and summonses to avoid wasting time.

Consumer Complaint: Recently I opened an account with Bank of America, my account was later closed without an explanation. I believe this action was caused by false negative reporting ; however, when I asked for the information, " why I was denied a checking account? '' I was told I could not receive it. I have attached my XXXX report which does not reflect any negative check reporting.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, my husband and I signed a Deed of Trust to refinance our mortgage for our primary residence in Texas. Both of us are clearly identified as the borrowers on the first page of the contract. However unknown to us at the time, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) did not record my name as a borrower for the mortgage in their system for the loan, they only recorded my husband. The mortgage was sold a couple of times and ended up at Bank of America. My husband has since passed away. I tried to change the information on the loan to reflect me as the primary borrower and couldn't find any info on me on the loan on the computer ( I had always paid the account ). I called BoA to tell them they should change the account so that I was primary and was told I wasn't on the account. I was shocked. I sent them a copy of the Deed of Trust assuming one of the earlier servicing banks had messed up and they would correct the error. They disconnected the online account and asked me if I wanted to assume the account at great expense. I did some research and realized that XXXX was the one that removed my name. I contacted them and pointed out their mistake and they referred me to BoA. I sent BoA another copy of all the documentation XX/XX/XXXX and they responded today that I was not on the note. I called and they told me that what I signed was a " deed '' not a mortgage. I explained that a Deed of Trust was used similarly to a mortgage in Texas and that no other " note '' existed and she didn't believe me.
