Consumer Complaint: I call every week to Amex requesting information about the charges and how the account was opened. I am told that I am not allowed to have the information because I did not open the account. They say the information is private. But every month they dont have a problem using my social security number and reporting me for not paying my bill. I call every week about this and they just tell me to be patient they are working on this. I have verified that they have not been honest with me.

Consumer Complaint: I had multiple cards opened with American Express over the years from XXXX and onwards. Never one late payment on any of the cards. During Covid, I got stranded overseas and was unable to get home. My accounts were on auto pay, and XXXX XXXX shut down my account and reopened it because they believed there was suspected fraud. It kicked all the accounts off autopay. I never used this American Express card very often and assumed it was paid in full every month. When I finally was able to get back home, I found multiple correspondes about a small amount that was due from the month that the auto pay was disconnected. They shut down all three credit cards I had, which had years of perfect payment history and charged off the one American Express with the small payment due. I had extensive conversations with representatives and managers who said if I paid off the charge off amounts they would remove the charge off and settle the account as closed by me so I could reapply for my card. I paid the card in full, they deleted any of the months that showed up as late, but did not remove the charge off comment as agreed upon. This happened in early XXXX that this was paid and addressed. I have given them plenty of time to rectify the issue, and they have not followed through on the agreement.

Consumer Complaint: This card is virtually useless. I'm unable to spend the money on it. I was able to use it a single time after which it is now being declined anywhere I use it. It originally had {$50.00} in it, I was able to spend {$12.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. A payment was declined the following month, and several payments were declined on XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX different vendors. These AMEX ( and most other ) cash gift cards are complete scam and offer none of the convenience that they advertise on there website. They claim to be a good gift that is better than cash, but impose " security measures '' to make spending the money more difficult. They also DIRECTLY SUPPORT SCAMMERS.

Consumer Complaint: The AMEX rep told me that ecards could not be replaced with physical cards, and he told me that I should be able to use the card in exactly the way I was using it. The rep told me that if I keyed in all the info on the card or added it to XXXX or XXXX XXXX, I should be able to redeem the card online or in person. He could give me no specific vendors who have ever accepted one of these XXXX I've tried to use this prepaid XXXX at least 12 times, directlry and through my XXXX wallet. Absolutely no one will accept this card. It rejects from major online retailers and in stores. The card also reflects pending transactions related to rejected charges for several days, so the balance is artificially decreased even though the sales have been cancelled on the vendors ' side.

I spent XXXX hours on the phone to get them to " unlock '' the card from trying to use it and restore the balance. XXXX XXXX XXXX just talking circles. Consumer Complaint: I have been attempting to retrieve my funds from my account via American Express Serve since XXXX. I have attempted to request a replacement card with no help. This account has also been charged {$5.00} per month in fees. The representatives are stating " I can not replace your card without first having your previous card number. '' I have explicitly stated that I did not receive the card ( which also means I do not know the card number ). I have tried AmEx National Bank, Serve phone numbers with absolutely no resolve. I am asking to be made whole with this account. This is becoming an issue of theft. There is no live representative to speak with outside of the card replacement phone number. It will not allow me to transfer the money, order a new card, and/or pay another Serve customer.

Consumer Complaint: I keep getting scam calls from Amex numbers ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ). They know my name, my parents ' address back in XXXX, and a lot of information, and claim that there are fraudulent charges under my name. However, when I call the same numbers back, I was always told there is no fraudulent charge. I asked Amex to fix this but I still keep getting such scam calls. PLEASE fix this and stop leaking my information! ( BTW, I know Amex is selling my information because I started receiving spams to my parents ' names immediately after I added my parents to my Amex account as additional users. They had no footprint in the US before that. )
