Consumer Complaint: On the letter dated XX/XX/2021, American Express stated that " However, we are not able to locate the two calls you referenced in which you requested a Card replacement. '' The statement indicated that American Express did not mail out any card until XX/XX/2021, one month after opening the account. And American Express did not have the tracking number of any prior shipments. So American Express deprived me of one whole month from completing the bonus requirements.

Consumer Complaint: Amex made me an offer via email through my Delta Skymiles acct. Apply for Amex Skymiles Gold Card and among other rewards, receive a {$200.00} airline credit on Delta for use as soon as application is approved. I applied, was approved, purchased an airline ticket on Delta and Amex now claims the offer did not include the {$200.00} airline credit, even when I showed them the ad that is on the Delta Skymiles account.

Consumer Complaint: Once again American Express enables international criminals, fraudsters, thieves against American small business by allowing these people to steal trade secrets, intellectual property, goods and services using their American Express credit card, and then once they have benefitted from this, allowing their " cardmembers '' to file frivolous fraudulent credit charge backs wherein they steal ( in our case {$10000.00} ) in the blink of an eye from our law firm bank account, abruptly & without warning, causing our checks, employee paychecks, rent checks, insurance checks to bounce and otherwise create chaos in our balanced checkbook and small business life. We have provided these thieving dishonest idiots at American Express signed retainer agreement contracts, detailed billing invoices, proof of delivery of goods/services/legal work product & other evidence from our former client XXXX XXXX XXXX, but they still back up/support their criminal cardholders in their theft of services/grand larceny by trick.

Consumer Complaint: I entered a consumer credit transaction with this organization and extended them my credit and as a result they used my credit card ( as described in 15 USC 1602 ) and was extended credit in a consumer credit sale. They continuously harassed me via email and mail ( as described in 15 USC 1692d ). They have communicated with me more than once ( 15 USC 1692b ( 3 ) ). They have ruined my character and general reputation by reporting false information on my consumer report ( 15 USC 1692e ( 2 ) ( A ) ). They didn't disclose that they are attempting to collect a debt ( 15 USC 1692e ( 11 ) ).

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: A notification was sent from American Express that they would be reviewing my credit limits for account ending in XXXX. It did not indicate that the account was overdue and upon checking with the organization and online at all accounts, all accounts were current and the next payment is due XX/XX/2021. The accounts are on autopay and as my husband had closed his checking account, I paid with my account for the Amex account ending in XXXX. The following payments were made for each account : XXXX- XX/XX/2021 {$100.00} XX/XX/2021 {$230.00} XX/XX/2021 {$140.00} XX/XX/2021 {$160.00} XX/XX/2021 {$180.00} More payments are on record and indicated that the accounts have been current and paid on time and never late. No attempts were made minus 1 instance that payment was due in which it was paid through another bank account. Account XXXX- XXXX XX/XX/2021 {$500.00} XX/XX/XXXX, {$6.00} XX/XX/XXXX {$200.00} XX/XX/XXXX {$190.00} XX/XX/XXXX {$1000.00} XX/XX/XXXX {$500.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX {$220.00} XX/XX/XXXX {$220.00} XX/XX/XXXX {$230.00} XX/XX/XXXX {$230.00} XX/XX/XXXX {$240.00} XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX {$260.00} XX/XX/XXXX {$260.00} XX/XX/XXXX {$250.00} XX/XX/XXXX {$260.00} XX/XX/XXXX {$320.00} XX/XX/XXXX {$310.00} There was no notification that cancellation or closure would occur, as well as no communication as to why. The organization did not ask for additional objective evidence from me as to how to keep the account open, nor did they notify me that this would be the outcome. The accounts were always in good standing and not overdue. They had been paid on time and did not offer additional options to even keep it open. Given the cardmember agreement, this violates their own terms as well as the fair credit act reporting guidelines to unjust treatment. This evening at XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2021, Amex offered to reinstate or review reinstatement if I just paid them $ XXXX more on an account. Given that the account is not due until XX/XX/XXXX and the payment was just made, I denied to do so, as none of the accounts are overdue or are above the credit line. There was no notification of adjustment to credit line either during this time.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Application denied
Consumer Complaint: I recently found out I no longer have any credit score with the credit reporting agencies and decided to apply for a personal card through American Express since they have access to my 22 year history with my Amex Business card. This card is still in use and the payment history is spotless. I got this in XXXX when I owned a small business that sold in XXXX. I have used this card for personal use since then. I applied by phone and the agent told me I was turned down. He said he didnt have access to the reason and, after some discussion, transferred me to the New Accounts Department. I asked the representative if he was able to access my credit history with American Express, which he promptly did. He thanked me for my 22 years of being an excellent customer in good standing and thanked me for using American Express. I then told him I had just been turned down for an Amex personal card and asked him if he could access that information, which he did. He then informed me that I was turned down because I have NO CRDEIT HISTORY. At that moment, I was speechless. I asked him if he really just said that to me. I heard vocal sounds like he was starting to reply then, he was speechless. Finally, he said, I see. I understand. He said he would turn the application over to the underwriters for personal review. Yesterday, I received a letter informing me that my application for credit was reviewed by a supervisor and turned down due to NO CREDIT HISTORY. Im XXXX years old. I opened my first bank savings account when I was about XXXX years old and, with it, I had enough for 50 % of a downpayment on my first house in XXXX. I got my first credit, a credit card, at age XXXX. I have had numerous mortgages, loans, business loans and credit cards over the years in good standing and all paid in full except for my existing Amex business card, which has a very high credit limit, is paid many months in full and is in good standing. I am unable get a personal credit card. I am unable to establish credit. I know of folks who have had serious financial troubles and a very low credit score and they were able to get a credit card. I can not. This situation is crippling.
