Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021, I submitted an application for a Hilton Honors American Express XXXX XXXX ( ref. no. XXXX ). Several days later, I received a letter via USPS from American Express informing me they wanted to verify my total income, and as such I was to sign and return IRS 4605-C so they could obtain my tax transcript. That same day, I completed the form and returned it to AmEx using their upload portal. A week later, I checked the status of my application on AmEx 's website and saw my application was still in processing. I called AmEx to inquire if the documents were received, and I was told they were and to check back a few days later for an update. When I checked on XX/XX/XXXX, I saw the application was still in process so I decided to contact AmEx. When I contacted AmEx on XX/XX/2021 at XXXX EDT, the representative told me my application was declined. I told her that the website says it's still processing, and she asked me to hold so she could check further with he back office operations. After holding for a few minutes, she told me they were processing my application as I was on the phone. I remained on hold another 10 minutes or so, at which point the representative returned and told me my application was denied because the income I stated on my application was not consistent with the income revealed from IRS transcripts. On the income disclosure part of American Express ' application, it specifically states, " include all income available to you. '' Prior to completing the application, I contacted AmEx New Accounts and asked what this meant, and I was told that I should reveal all income that is regularly deposited into my bank account or joint bank account. As such, I stated my income to be {$120000.00} per year. My personal income portion of the {$120000.00} is approximately {$28000.00}, and the remainder is my husband 's income which is deposited into our JOINT checking account. When I submitted the 4506-C to AmEx, I included copies of bank statements reflecting this additional income. AmEx 's reasoning for declining my application is not justified considering I did exactly what was asked and answered the income disclosure question honestly and transparently.

Consumer Complaint: I booked a hotel room on XX/XX/XXXX of 2021 for XXXXe night with XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX via XXXX. The reservation was for {$660.00}. I cancelled within the time period of free cancellation and received an email that my cancellation was processed and that i would be receiving a refund within 14 business days. I never received my refund, i attempted to call XXXXXXXX XXXX and XXXX on multiple occasions before submitting a dispute with American Express, XXXXXXXX XXXX said XXXX never cancelled my reservation, even though they sent me an email that they did and I never received a call back from XXXX. I opened a dispute with American Express and submitted proof of cancellation and received provisional credit because they are still waiting for a response from the merchant. I am concerned because XXXX 's will say that it was never cancelled but i have email confirmation and submitted that to American Express! The free cancellation should be enough to close the investigation. I revoked authorization, I need my money back.

Consumer Complaint: I had a fradulent Activity on my credit card with American express in XX/XX/2021. I submitted a fraudulent activity check and requested for a replacement card. accoding to the American express representatives a card was shipped to me but I never received it or used the card but my account kept on having charges reported on it during this time and American express reported a 30 day late delinquency on my credit report that is hampering my ability to get student loan. I need American express to stop accepting charges on my account and remove the 30 day delinquency from my credit report because that is unfair use of my credit account without my permission and American express is misguiding the credit agencies. can you please help ASAP? my student loan is due in XX/XX/2021. I would appreciate a prompt help and response. I have attached a chat with the American express customer representative who gave me the same response as below in quotes but still kept on charging my account until it was delinquent. I have also attached the fraudulent dispute with Amex and they concluded fraudulent activity was real. " Your current Card will be invalid and can no longer be used. For your protection, the last 4-digits of your account number will change. If you have recurring or automatic billing set up with Merchants, then they can continue to use the Card information that they have on file. We agreed that I will call him on XX/XX/XXXX before XXXX XXXX to accept the terms of of an agreement. On said date I called and canceled the agreement because the funds I was expecting did not arrive. The agent refused to cancel the agreement and went ahead and deposited the purported agreed upon amount which caused an overdraft in my account and resulted in an overdraft fee of {$35.00}.
