Consumer Complaint: I opened an American Express platinum credit card on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. On XXXX XX/XX/XXXX the card did not work at XXXX XXXX gas station in the morning and then again on XXXX XXXX a day later.There was no intimation from the company either by phone, text or email regarding the cause of declination. Please note this card has annual membership fee of {$550.00} which is THE HIGHEST fee in credit card category. A reasonable consumer can expect a superior service experience when paying highest fees. When I called to express my displeasure at being denied simple transactions the employees could not give any satisfactory reasoning. I was charged {$550.00} annual membership fee in XX/XX/XXXX, the company states that the annual membership is refundable within 30 days of opening. In XX/XX/XXXX, company sent me a letter stating that the account is cancelled because of abusive behavior on my part, they kept my {$550.00} fees plus {$1100.00} worth of points that I had accrued. They further blacklisted me from all American Express products. I am a XXXX XXXX was attending to XXXX XXXX XXXX patients during XXXX XXXX have attempted to work with them, but no success. My consumer rights and first amendment rights stand violated, need CFPB help.

Consumer Complaint: Once again Amex tries to XXXX XXXX theyre paying customers. I opened my AMEX XXXX card XXXX XXXX XXXX The card had a welcome bonus of XXXX points after {$6000.00} spend in 6 months, and 10x the points for restaurant and small business purchases. Ive been tracking all of my points every month because I was scammed out of points before for my gold card. I even track the bonus spend by multiplying my purchases to check in the bonus points rewarded. I discovered that none of my XXXX orders which qualifies for restaurant bonus ( confirmed with 2 membership rewards customer service reps, and 2 membership rewards supervisors ) were being rewarded to my card. I called in early XXXX to file a claim and provided the agent with every XXXX transaction date and amount. The claim was closed without my points rewarded and no one can tell me why since it qualifies and I wasnt rewarded it. Ive been going back and fourth promised numerous callbacks I never received. I then tried calling back today to check on the status to be ran around in circles blindly transferred. Im owed over XXXX bonus points for my XXXX transactions since I got the card and Amex is refusing to honor their welcome bonus that was confirmed on numerous occasions I shouldve gotten my bonus points for.

Consumer Complaint: On numerous occasions American Express denied me credit and that's a violation of the equal opportunity credit act ( ECOA ). I gave American Express my social security number and I didn't get just compensation. This has been going on since XXXX to XXXX and I have evidence of this discrimination that I will provide. The equal credit opportunity act say that American Express can't make a decision base on my ability to pay back and that's just what they did.The Equal Credit Opportunity Act ( ECOA ) is federal civil rights law that prevents lenders from discriminating against credit applicants based on factors unrelated to their ability to repay. I have been discriminated against and American Express needs to remedy these situations ASAP.

Consumer Complaint: I signed up for a credit card with American Express in XXXX of 2021 based on a welcome offer of XXXX membership rewards points. I clicked the link in the email when signing up so there should not have been any issue in applying the offer. I received confirmation, approval, and the cards quickly. I quickly spent the required money to trigger the welcome offer but only received XXXX membership rewards points. I contacted customer service in early XXXX and advised the mistake. I was told that this was an easy fix and would be applied within 2 billing cycles. 2 billing cycles came and went and I followed up again. This time I was told that it was not addressed and they would need 10 additional days to review, they also requested that I upload documentation of the welcome offer, which I did immediately. 10 days passed and I reached out again, I was told that the issue was not resolved and I would need to wait an additional 2 billing cycles. I escalated the issue to a manager and said they are requesting a rush but it would take minimum 3-5 additional days but up to 2 billing cycles. They advised originally that closed the claim because there was no documentation despite never being asked for it. I got no notification of the same and was even told that amex does not have any obligation to respond to these types of inquiries. They even informed me they have. I told them that was unacceptable and I have paid all my required fees timely and they need to honor their end of the bargain. They advised there was nothing that they could do. Even after spending hours trying to get this issue resolved I have no faith that this issue will be handled. It is a simple bait and switch by a major global company, and it is extremely disappointing after being a customer for 10+ years

Consumer Complaint: I was 100 % discriminated against and the law was BROKEN!!! On XX/XX/2022 I used my credit card as defined under 15 us 1602 ( a ) ( I ) to extend myself credit through your company and I was denied. On XX/XX/2022 I received an adverse action email from your company attempting to explain why I was denied. This was clear as day an act of discrimination pursuant to 15 usc 1691 ( a ) ( 3 ). I in good faith exercised my right to extend credit as a consumer, and a creditor and I was denied for NO specific reason. You also violated federal law and you will be held civilly and criminally liable because you violated 15 usc 1602 ( a ) ( p ) you used my credit card with no apparent authority, and I the cardholder and consumer received no benefit. You are now civilly and criminally liable under : 1.15 Usc 1611 2.15 US 1640 3.15 usc 1691e I am appalled at these laws being broken by a company with the reputation that you have!

I have gone to every link on the email to try to reach someone and all I get are recorded messages. I went to their contract us section and the give XXXX numbers for American Express ( XXXX ) and XXXX but both the phone numbers are recorded messages. I have listed to all the messages and not one of them ever allows me to talk to a person. One mentions XXXX XXXX bank then goes on to mention what sounds like " XXXX '' money and then a little later talks about XXXX. I have tried to get an address for them but have yet to get one. I need to get this account closed and out of my name as it is fraudulent and not mine. I did not apply for it.
