Consumer Complaint: Hello, On XXXX at XXXX I tried to make a {$740.00} payment to my American Express card at the XXXXXXXX XXXX ATM at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I learned after attempting this that it is not possible. The ATM tried to return all of my cash except a {$100.00} got stuck and the ATM ate the money. I watched this clearly happen. The ATM printed a machine error notice ( see attached ), and directed my to contact XXXX XXXX I then deposited the remaining {$640.00} into my XXXX XXXX checking account at XXXX. I contacted XXXX XXXX, and they did an investigation. They notified my on XXXX that they had no record of any errors. I contact American Express and they were sure that there was nothing they could do. I escalated this with XXXX XXXX on XXXX, and was notified of the same result. Their issue is that because an American Express card was inserted into the ATM at the time they have no record of this actual transaction. They only have a record of the deposit made at XXXX using a XXXX XXXX ATM card ( see attached ). On XXXX I spoke with a XXXXXXXX XXXX manager XXXX who informed me I would have to pursue the matter through American Express. I have contacting American Express regularly since XXXX, and they have never returned any of my calls, sent me any letters, or sent me any emails. I repeatedly ask for a supervisor call back, and no one has ever called back. The American Express claim is XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I placed an online same day delivery order with XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX for a TV in the amount of {$480.00}. I was home the entire day and I didn't receive the TV as I anticipated, so I called XXXX XXXX the following day to inquire about the status of my package. I was told the package was delivered, however, I expressed to the representative I didn't get it. The representative opened up a claim and told me I'd get a response within 48-72 hours. I waited. Radio silence. I called XXXX XXXX again and I was told the same thing, again, I waited and nothing. I then decided to reach out to AMEX and discuss the situation, to which they opened up a claim. I waited for a few weeks to get a response, and I was ultimately awarded the credit. However, the credit was subsequently reversed after a few days. I called AMEX and they explained that the merchant sent over " documentation '' to support their claim. I asked for that documentation to be sent to me and they said I would receive it in a few days. I received it XX/XX/XXXX. All I received from AMEX was an exchange and return policy and a copy of the tracking information, which isn't at all reliable because it doesn't ascertain anything. Furthermore, I called AMEX again to have my claim reinvestigated based off that very vague and insignificant information. My claim was reopened again because the representative agreed with my findings. Then I noticed my claim was closed the following day. I called AMEX and asked why my claim was closed : I was told because XXXX XXXX sent over " additional '' information. I asked the representative to specify what it was and she explained that it was allegedly a text exchange between the delivery driver and I. I didn't have any conversation with anyone that day regarding my package, therefore it was completely false and fabricated. The representative even noted that my number didn't appear on the text exchange ( interesting ), so she reopened my case on those bases. The case was closed the following day, yes, again. I called and asked what else can be done and I was told I could write a letter, as I obviously didn't have any additional documentation to support my claim. I wrote the letter on XX/XX/XXXX. ( What documentation would I have for an order I was supposed to receive that didn't arrive? ). Fast forward, on XX/XX/XXXX my case was closed. I exhausted all of my resources at this juncture. This is my last resort.

Consumer Complaint: I have autopay with my American Express Delta Gold Card. In setting up autopay, one has to indicate how many days after the closing date of the statement that you want the auto pay to make the payment. Problems : 1 ) There is no indication on their " Mange Autopay '' as to how many days after the closing date, payment is due. They leave it up to the user to choose the payment date according to their own calculation. This leaves the user open to error in calculation. 2 ) NOWHERE IS THERE THE OBVIOUS OPTION TO PAY ON THE DUE DATE! Most other cards make that option obvious. 3 ) One can only wonder whether AEx is obfuscating to encourage users to choose AEx 's default option which is 15 days after the closing date. It seems patently obstructionist and misleading, not to make the most common response clearer, or, at least make it the default option. Obviously, having people pay 10 days earlier than they need to is very much on the company 's interest.

Permissible Purpose of Consumer Reports ( a ) In general Subject to subsection ( c ), any consumer reporting agency may furnish a consumer report under the following circumstances and no other : ( 1 ) In response to the order of a court having jurisdiction to issue such an order, a subpoena issued in connection with proceedings before a Federal grand jury, or a subpoena issued in accordance with section 5318 of title 31 or section 3486 of title 18. ( 2 ) In accordance with the written instructions of the consumer to whom it relates. 15 U.S.C 1692c ( a ) Communication with the consumer generally Without the prior consent of the consumer given directly to the debt collector or the express permission of a court of competent jurisdiction, a debt collector may not communicate with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt 15 U.S.C 1681 S-2 ( B ) Reporting information after notice and confirmation of errors A person shall not furnish information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if ( i ) the person has been notified by the consumer, at the address specified by the person for such notices, that specific information is inaccurate ; and ( ii ) the information is, in fact, inaccurate. 15 U.S.C 1681s-2 ( 3 ) Duty to provide notice of dispute If the completeness or accuracy of any information furnished by any person to any consumer reporting agency is disputed to such person by a consumer, the person may not furnish the information to any consumer reporting agency without notice that such information is disputed by the consumer. Please be informed that contact was made to American Express XXXX XXXX XXXX American express via a telephone for the sole purpose of getting the company physical address since it was not included in the letter sent to me and they refused to provide me with the company physical address instead provided me with a po box information. Please note that a Request for VALIDATION letter was sent to American Express XXXX XXXX XXXX American express on XX/XX/XXXX via USPS XXXX mail with TRACKING # XXXX and was delivered on XX/XX/2022. In that letter, the alleged Debt was DISPUTED and i made it clear to American Express XXXX XXXX XXXX American Express that i have never had any credit card with account number ending XXXX as they alleged in their email. Furthermore, I request for documents such as the original contact of the alleged account and other documents. American Express XXXX XXXX XXXX American Express placed a collection on my Credit Report on XX/XX/2022 receiving my request for VALIDATION letter on XX/XX/XXXX in which i DISPUTED the alleged account and informed them that i have NEVER had any account ending in XXXX. This is a VIOLATION of Fair Credit Act listed above. American Express XXXX XXXX XXXX American Express REFUSED to mark the collection placed in my credit report as DISPUTED after receiving my request for VALIDATION letter which clearly stated that the alleged account ending in XXXX is DISPUTED. Supporting evidence is attached. This is a violation of the Fair Credit Act listed above. American Express XXXX XXXX XXXX American Express is being deceptive in his practice. It has American Express listed 6 times in the email sent to me and has American Express XXXX XXXX which is a violation of the Fair Credit Act.

Consumer Complaint: I am unable to access my funds from the American Express Serve account. I tried paying bills online and I tried using my prepaid debit card with no success. My last transaction was a deposit in the amount of {$490.00}. I am attaching the confirmation of that transaction. Serve has locked my access to my money. I have {$2000.00} in my Serve account. Serve is sending me weekly statements with my balance. I am attaching my last statement received by Serve. Thus, Serve is letting me know weekly that they have my money but are not providing me any access to it. On XX/XX/XXXX, I tried talking on the phone with a Serve representative who told me that he would talk to a supervisor to unlock the account but nothing happened since.

Consumer Complaint: I'm writing this complaint to inform the CFPB of an adverse action take against me a consumer. I've been a valued member of American Express for some years now and had no issues concerning my open end credit plan until now. I was 9 months pregnant and my due date was approaching and I had a family emergency. The primary purpose of this open end credit plan is primarily for personal family and household use. I needed to use my credit card to pay a unexpected bill that occurred because of my pregnancy and also to get some more things before my babygirl arrived. I was expecting any day. I tried to use my credit card and was shocked when the transaction denied because I double checked the balance to ensure I had the money available. I tried again and it didn't go through so this is when I became very alarmed. I was in the middle of an emergency and could rely on my open end credit plan at the moment I needed to most. The original limit on my open end credit plan was XXXX I then opened the app to my credit card account and see that American Express had decreased the limit to XXXX on my open end consumer credit plan without proper authorization or consent. I was shocked by this jus suddenly happening to me with no reason or explanation. I immediately felt sick, I was 9 months pregnant and hit with sudden financial injury. I spoke to several representatives who informed me that I had to pay them in order to get the limit I needed back. This is an Adverse Action and they are Guilty of taking 1 count of adverse action against me on XX/XX/2022. I am the beneficiary for the open end credit plan, American Express decreased the limit to my opened end credit plan but they have no authority to do. this was unauthorized use pursuant to 15 usc 1602 ( p ) The term unauthorized use, as used in section 1643 of this title, means a use of a credit card by a person other than the cardholder who does not have actual, implied, or apparent authority for such use and from which the cardholder receives no benefit.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX American Express decided to closed both accounts I was having with them since XXXX. After using my card and getting an error I decided to call American Express and asked what happened, I was then informed of their decision and also told the full balance was due immediately, I then with the customer service representative on the phone agreed to make a payment of the total balance of both accounts that same day and also to deactivate the auto payment. The payment went successfully and on XX/XX/XXXX the money was taken out of my acct and applied to the final open balance. After that day, it was clear that the accounts was closed and satisfactorily paid in full. By the next month XX/XX/XXXX the statement that I got from American Express was for {$7.00} on fees incurred after paying the final balance which was paid again. But by XX/XX/XXXX American Express without my consent activated the automated payment and proceed to take {$590.00}, I immediately put a stop payment since I didnt know where that amount was coming from after couple of months of the accounts been closed and paid in full, I decided then to call American Express to get some clarity but that wasnt the case. Once you are not a costumer of them, the treatment is just horrible I couldnt understand where the money was coming from so I decided to start a dispute with the which was not accepted and also with XXXX ( XX/XX/XXXX ). The problem continue and havent had any straight answer from American Express, they reported me on my credit bureau as a late on a paid satisfactorily account. I had spent countless hours trying to get an answer from American Express, getting a supervisor or a superior for help is impossible. I had open 3 disputes with XXXX the most recent one was XX/XX/XXXX. I had made follow up calls with American Express as the interest and late fees keep mounting up and they refused to put a stop even on an open investigation, and had refused to put anything in writing for me. I dont understand how a closed and paid in full account can months later have such a big balance not to say that now the balance is {$1000.00}. I requested all my bank statement to American Express ( XX/XX/XXXX ) they after a month sent them to me ( XX/XX/XXXX ) after carefully reviewing them the month of XXXX and XXXX showed not actively thats due to the account being closed, but then by XXXX there is a balance of {$590.00} apparently of some bounce payment from the prior month ( XXXX ) when there was not activity nor was any monies due from my part. My credit report has been severely affected as American Express is reporting me as late, but not answer or explanation has been provided, American Express should take responsibility for not mention of any grater or different balance after the account was closed and paid satisfactorily I am a single mother, who was hit hard by COVID, my XXXX and XXXX has exacerbated with this situation, is just not right to charge someone with something that doesnt make sense, it seems that American Express made a error and dont want to take any responsibility
