Consumer Complaint: I booked a trip to the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on XXXX. Check in XX/XX/2021 & check out XX/XX/2021. Booking was made on XX/XX/2021 and charged to my Amex. I prepaid for nearly the entire stay. I was supposed to only be liable for a small portion of the balance at the hotel upon checkout. I paid {$910.00} with a balance due of {$110.00} due at checkout. Upon checkout I was charged {$1000.00} and not just the balance owed. I immediately tried to dispute with XXXX and was eventually advised in writing that I would be refunded {$960.00} as overpayment. I still have net received any refund. I have disputed multiple times now with Amex XXXX XXXX with no satisfaction. I have details in the attached document showing the original charge, the response from XXXX confirming a refund and notes from the final conversation where I was advised to speak to the XXXX. The Hotel has not returned my call.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/22 FRAUD : Attempted to book flight using airmiles on American Express Blue Card. Received message : Ineligible to use points. I attempted x3 to use miles online. An " Upgrade Now '' button was available. As a consumer, THE ERROR MESSAGE COMBINED WITH THE UPGRADE BUTTON CAUSED ME TO BELIEVE THAT I MUST UPGRADE TO AN ANNUAL FEE BASED ACCOUNT IN ORDER TO USE MY AIRMILES. The " upgrade '' I received was not an upgrade, but an entirely new gold card, giving me 2 accounts with American Express. In the past 90 minutes I've spoken to 4 separate customer service reps & another 2 online chat. Finally, I was informed that I can use my blue card miles to book a flight, and now I'm waiting 35 minutes ( allegedly ) for a call back from XXXX in order to use my airmiles. I have XXXX miles or I wouldn't bother. Most customer service is sourced from XXXX now, and although the people are kind, they are relying on scripts to deal with cultural issues, and from my experience this is not working for the USA customer.

Consumer Complaint: My ex stole my Amex card from the safe, opened one in his name as an authorized user without my knowledge, had all our mail ( including mine ) forwarded to a po box , maxed out my credit card, and did not pay the bill. When I found out, I had his card canceled and disputed the charges. It is fraud. Amex had me pay minimum balances for months saying it was in dispute and they were trying to get the final payoff down for me. In XXXX I received a letter from Amex stating my final payoff would be {$6000.00}. In XXXX I spoke to the same representative again and he said he was trying to get it down to {$4000.00} and I should wait two weeks for him to call me back. After only one week I received a call from a different person saying my account has been moved and they refused to listen to me or acknowledge the previous promise. I have the letter from Amex, all the phone calls documented, and the names of all the representatives I've spoken to. I am requesting help fighting for what was promised to me. It is Amex 's fault to begin with letting my ex steal from me and open up another card and letting him use my card. They aren't my purchases. Thank you for your help. XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I purchased tickets to a concert in early 2020 through XXXX. The band postponed their show due to covid and announced ticket buyers could get a refund at the point of purchase. XXXX refused. I contacted American Express about this and other concerns and discussed dispute options. The American Express employee told me that usually disputes have to be made within 60 to 90 days, but upon discussing COVID delays and its related postponements it was discussed that some events are being pushed off by months and even years. The American Express employee told me not to worry, that even after years, the company would allow me to dispute the charge of something came up. Well, many things came up and I went to dispute the charge on XX/XX/XXXX and I spent 5 to 6 hours dealing with phone and chat Amex employees and they admitted the prior employee told me I WOULD be able to dispute it later, but told me that was a mistake and they won't honor it now. I spent substantial time escalating the matter and offering compromises and proposing ways they could fix their mistake. The company refused while repeatedly lying to me and providing seemingly intentionally bad, scripted, and evasive responses.
