Consumer Complaint: On XXXX, I made a {$3500.00} payment on my American Express XXXX XXXX credit card. I checked my credit card statement over the period of several weeks, and realized that the payment had not been deducted from my bill. I telephoned the holder of my Amex card ( apparently XXXX XXXX ) and was told that they did not receive my payment. I telephoned XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( my bank ) and was told that the funds had been disbursed to Amex ( XXXX XXXX ). I contacted Amex several more times and was told that they had not receive the payment. Again, I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and was told that Amex did received the payment. I told the XXXX Representative that Amex denied receiving the payment and requested that the funds be returned to my account and XXXX did so. Afterwards, Amex told XXXX that I authorized the payment and on XXXX, the {$3500.00} was deducted from my XXXX account, but to date does not show as a payment on my Amex card. I contacted Amex again and was told that they had not received the funds and that the matter would be under review until XX/XX/ XXXX I had a conference call with XXXX and XXXX XXXX ( the holder of the card ) and they still deny receiving my payment ; but refused to allow XXXX to return the funds to my account. I am being charged interest on a payment that Ive made several months ago. They told me that the funds were not received, but told XXXX that I authorized the payment. They can not have it both ways. I want them to deduct the payment from my account and remove any interest since the date that XXXX dispersed the payment. Thank you for any assistance that you may provide. Consumer Complaint: This is the letter I sent on XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX XXXX XXXX : My account opened XX/XX/XXXX is a charge off showing an amount past due {$2500.00} on my credit reports. This inaccuracy alone means you must remove it from my credit reports immediately. In addition, this account is indeed charged off, so why did I never receive a copy of the 1099 C which you are required by law to provide me for my taxes? I did not receive either of the 1099 C. You received a tax write off for these debts, and I should not have this debt reported on my credit profile. It is now a certificate of indebtedness and income to be reported by me to the IRS. Please send me any and all forms or documentation proving you have the right to report this as a debt to my credit report. If you can not provide this documentation, please remove these debts from my report immediately. This is also a letter I sent to American Express on XX/XX/XXXX : Dear American Express, I have been receiving numerous harassing emails since XXXX demanding payment for a charged off account. There are two accounts that have been charged off, One for {$600.00} opened XX/XX/XXXX and {$10000.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. These accounts are indeed charged off, so why did I never receive a copy of the 1099 C which you are required by law to provide me for my taxes? I did not receive either of the 1099 C. You received a tax write off for these debts, and I should not have this debt reported on my credit profile. Please send me any and all forms or documentation proving you have the right to report this as a debt to my credit report. Consumer Complaint: I am in possession of a prepaid American Express gift card. It worked for several transactions, but suddenly will not work ANYWHERE, including THE SAME PLaCES THEY WERE PREVIOUSLY USED! This is insane. I have called customer service three times, they just assure me that there are funds on the card and it is ready to be used. I tried to use it several places online, no luck. This is craziness. I would really just like a check sent to me with the funds remaining. Apparently, this is well documented issue with MANY users all over the US. American Express should be ashamed of itself and should fix this issue forthwith.

Consumer Complaint: I got a American Express gift card that kept declining ( original complaint XXXX ). American Express advised that they sent a refund check to my address in the amount of XXXX and that I should receive the check within 3-5 business days of XXXX. Today is XX/XX/XXXX and I still have not received a refund check. I called American Express on XX/XX/XXXX to inquire as to why I have not received the check and the customer service rep was extremely rude and after placing me on hold for 20 minutes she hung up the phone. This is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!! I called back to American Express again today and was told there is nothing they can do since they already mailed the check. Well apparently the check is lost because it should not take 15 days to receive a check coming from XXXX to XXXX!!!!!!!!!! There has to be something America Express can do to expedite this process!!!!!!!!

Consumer Complaint: Relieved from work a XXXX XXXX American Express egift card XX/XX/XXXX. I have tried numerous attempts to use it on XXXX, only went through for a XXXX XXXX purchase but is declined for anything bigger. I tried buying gift cards through XXXX XXXX online to XXXX but the expiration date on the card is not available when selecting exp dates ( card expires XX/XX/XXXX but XXXX XXXX only goes to XXXX ). XXXX XXXX XXXX retailers will not accept this card ( grocery stores ) so it's been unusable and co-workers are having similar issues.

Consumer Complaint: I received an American Express virtual gift card as a XXXX gift from a coworker for {$300.00}. I called the number for AMEX to activate the card upon receiving it, and got confirmation over the phone that it was activated. I have tried to use the virtual card at multiple places such as target, instacart, and tried a few random websites including linking it to XXXX to see if it would work. All of the transactions keep getting declined even though XXXX trying to make transactions with a significantly lower amount than what the balance of the card is. I called American Express, they can give me no real answers or solutions as to why the card is not working and keep telling me to just use it at different places, which I have, and the card does not work anywhere at all. They will not do anything else to solve the issue.

Consumer Complaint: I was gifted 2 American Express gift card by my employer on XX/XX/2023. I can see the card was purchased the day prior on XX/XX/2023 of {$500.00} each. On XX/XX/XXXX I was able to use one of the cards just once and have not been able to since I have tried both online and in store and no luck. There is a balance of {$350.00} on one card and {$500.00} on the other that I am unable to use I have tried XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and all declined. I called customer service and they advised me that maybe there is not enough funds but I stated there is more than enough ( {$850.00} ) and they said they can not help me.

Consumer Complaint: I and over XXXX other employees at my job received American Express e-gift cards for an end of a year gift. Mine was for {$1200.00}. No online stores that I have tried will accept this card. They process a test hold of XXXX cents then decline the actual purchase. The stores blame Amex. I called Amex and they can't provide a solid answer. They tell me to use it at other stores, but see unable to tell me a single one that will accept the card. Others have been told it is an anti fraud mechanism. I requested to cash it out, and Amex declined to do so.
