Consumer Complaint: I signed up for the AMEX Blue Business Card in XX/XX/XXXX. There was 0 % Promotional APR for 12 months. I made a purchase of {$2000.00} in XX/XX/XXXX. In XXXX XXXXXXXX, one of my payments somehow did not go through. I called AMEX customer service to find out what happened. It was a website use error. I paid my card promptly over the phone and ask that they refund the late fee. They refunded the fee ( {$35.00} ). I paid promptly for every month since then. What I was not informed about was that the company had started to levy a penalty APR 29.99 % for 12 months since XX/XX/XXXX. The customer service agent I spoke to did not inform me of that, and I continue to pay my monthly installments thinking that my APR was 0 % till XX/XX/XXXX, and I was paying down my principal balance. Now in XX/XX/XXXX, I only found out that this was not the case, and for the last 8 months, I was paying 29.99 % monthly interest instead of the advertised 0 % APR. This is misleading advertising and should not be allowed to continue.

Consumer Complaint: It appears that my credit with you has been compromised. I was going through my records & noticed many files which do not belong to me. Since Im a stickler for research, I found that under section 605b of the FCRA you are required by law to remove & block any account which is found to be opened due to identity theft. The dispute items do not belong to me. Im attaching the required FTC Report for you and the bank 's records ( learned through more research both parties require ). Please block/remove these files. If you feel there is a possibility these accounts belong to me I will require all documentation that bears my signature ( another research item I found that requires you to verify with 100 % accuracy that each account is 100 % true, accurate, correct, complete & VERIFIABLE ). If you do not provide any records & claim the item is verified please understand I will seek legal action. I do not take kindly to games nor does my attorney. SO please comply with the law so this matter can be handled swiftly. Please remove/block the disputed items as they were opened without my consent or knowledge, pursuant to Section 605B of Fair Credit Reporting Act.XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, NY XXXX, AMEX XXXX

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Sent card you never applied for
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 we received an AMEX Credit card ending in XXXX to our address with a name of XXXX XXXX XXXX on the card, which was no one that we know. Rather than call the service number ( XXXX ) listed on the possibly fraudulent card, I called American Express Customer Service ( XXXX ) and struggled with the IVR that kept requesting info regarding my wife 's card which is a valid AMEX Card registered under my wife 's name at our address and at the number from which I called. But I was calling about a completely separate card that had been sent to my house in apparent error or fraud. Finally, I got through to XXXX ( ID # XXXX ) who transferred me to XXXX ( ID # XXXX ) with Account Security who said she couldn't help me and transferred me to XXXX ( ID # XXXX ) with the Identity Protection Team in the Fraud Department who said that AMEX is unable to tell me whether the reason I was sent the card was either an error by AMEX or a third-party fraud attempt, the latter case would require me to further investigate. She disconnected me insisting there was nothing further she could do. I called back, same issues with the IVR, but this time I was connected with XXXX ( ID # XXXX ) with the Dispute and Fraud department. I got disconnected from her but she was kind enough to call me back ; however, after investigating further, she ultimately came back with the same response that AMEX would be unable to tell me whether it was an AMEX error or third-party fraud attempt. Earlier, XXXX had suggested I call XXXX, XXXX or XXXX to check my credit. I am NOT the company with the $ XXXX Market Cap that sent XXXX 's card to the wrong address so I am not going to waste far more of my time investigating an issue with a third party when it was very possibly caused by AMEX errant processing!
