Consumer Complaint: This is a follow-up report because American Express lied again. You responded to my previously complaint by saying that I declined the {$50.00} goodwill refund, but that was a bogus lie. I refused because I deserved more because I was financially injured by booking a $ XXXX trip on your platform in which you didn't conspicuously disclose that by booking a combo airline and fine hotel you would not receive the fine hotel credit. The XXXX XXXX showed up as a fine hotel on the AMEX travel platform thus, it negates any claim that this hotel was not a part of the promo and perks AMEX proudly promotes as a benefit to the XXXX Credit Card holders. If you refuse to accept this facts, go ahead and send the little {$50.00}, SEND MORE, SEND SOMETHING WORTH the INJURY, since you think it's acceptable for someone to purchase a trip at that price tag, plus be stranded at a hotel that you advertise as a FINE HOTEL when I could have stayed at other hotels and received my XXXX perks. SHAME ON YOU. SEND the REUND since you claim I declined. ALSO ADDRESS the fact that I passed from agent to agent for XXXX minutes on the phone! You've failed to mention that hassle as well. Certainly appreciated the thanks and customer service, American Express. GET THE FACTS CORRECT. Previous Complaint : American Express lied to me in this booking. I booked this package under the impression that I would receive XXXX Card perks at the XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX. I was completely humiliated and embarrassed when I arrived to the XXXX XXXX to first be told that I didn't book this reservation via AMEX but XXXX to second be told that they didn't ' have any AMEX card on file and that they didn't see any AMEX XXXX Card benefits associated with my reservation. I was completely dumbfounded by this error. AMEX completely embarrassed me and caused me to book a reservation unnecessarily with the benefits prominently advertised with the XXXX for staying at hotels under the XXXX XXXX. After back and forth, and little option of staying somewhere else, I had to succumb and stay at the XXXX with no perks. AMEX robbed me of a decent stay and an enjoyable experience. I felt as though I lost $ XXXX in savings by staying at the XXXX with no perks when I could have stayed at a XXXX Property under my XXXX XXXX. As a result, I want AMEX to make me whole by this glitch and false advertisement. I called about this matter and after being run in circles with AMEX customer service, I was finally told a wild response that the perk was not eligible for bundle deals. HOWEVER, this caveat is not prominently disclosed anywhere on the website, on the payment page or XXXX XXXX XXXX associated with purchasing the package. Nowhere is this prominently displayed as much as the Perks associated with the XXXX Card for staying in the Fine Resorts or Hotel Collection. It is egregious that I waited and anticipated this trip after planning and waiting 2 months for this chaos and embarrassment to ensure. What's worse is the lack of access to AMEX customer service and a customer service agent with the wherewithal to assist me after being passed around from agent to agent for XXXX minutes while being stranded in another city. This is unprofessional and ridiculous. Most importantly, this is false advertisement and as a result I have been financially harmed by your misrepresentation and false advertisement of the facts, per FTC and UDAAP regulation. In short, make me whole from this fiasco!!!!!

Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX, and I share an Amex credit card with my wife XXXX XXXX. On her XXXX credit report, it shows there is a remaining not paid balance of {$250.00} with Amex. But on my XXXX credit report, it shows the Amex balance is paid off with a XXXX balance. My wife 's credit score is much lower because of this discrepancy and we were denied on a home loan because of it. When I called XXXX, they said they had no idea why Amex had not reported on my wife 's report in one month, and they suggested I call Amex for assistance. When I called Amex, they too had no idea and suggested I call XXXX for assistance. I honestly feel like my wife is being targeted due to her XXXX Last update of her XXXX credit card balance was exactly one month ago. Not only that, every time we use our Amex card, within the hour we pay off the entire balance. It's not fair that Amex reports the balance immediately to the credit agencies, but Amex doesn't report the IMMEDIATE same day payments. I need an answer why my report is different from my wife 's report.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022, I applied for an american express platinum personal card and got approved with very clear promotion offer of 150000 points with spending {$6000.00} in the first several months. So I got the card and they charged me {$690.00} annual fee almost instantly. In the next few months I spent more than {$6000.00} and never see those points showing up in my account. So I chatted with a representative and a " supervisor '' about the situation. They told me even my application was approved, but not showing with that offer in their system. But I clearly saw that offer, otherwise there was no point for me as a school teacher to apply for this card, which is my first ever amex platinum card in my life. They said they might be a term during my application process saying that they have the power to decline whatever offer they ad for. That is scamming for consumers then. This where I found the offer : https : XXXX? XXXX # commentsBox I requested they refund my annual fee or deposit my points, but the " supervisor '' refused to do either. I feel very helpless. This kind of practice is completely unacceptable!

Consumer Complaint: My account statement sent on XXXX said I did not owe any amount for the payment due date XXXX. My account is also setup to automatically debit any amount due on the XXXX of every month via American Express systems and Amex initiates the payment when due. No auto payment was taken out on XXXX. My next account statement on XXXX said my account was passed due since there was no payment. This is in contrast to the previous statement saying " no payment due ''. I was also charged interest and fees due to the account balance. I pay the total amount due each month to avoid interest charges. I want the interest and late fee charges removed. I talked to American Express for 3 hours on XXXX to resolve the matter but they were no help ( phone log attached ). They admitted the statement for XXXX said no payment was due on XXXX but claim a payment processing error led to an amount being due after they sent the XXXX statement. A notice of this amount due was never sent to me in any written form.

Consumer Complaint: To Whom It May Concern : My American Express credit card account statement ending in XXXX shows a payment, a balance of XXXX, that should have not been made. I am writing to tell you that the payments were unauthorized charges. Therefore, I am filing a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau against American Express. Specifically, I authorized debits to a cosmetics company in Hawaii by the name of XXXX, in error, and under duress on XX/XX/2022, but revoked the authorization on XX/XX/2022. Immediately after I received the " product '' and realized that the company was charging me for unauthorized charges I sent the unopened product back via XXXX XXXX. I asked American Express to close my account and not accept any new charges. I paid the undisputed charges and no longer have any outstanding balances. Despite the fact that I have been a long-time customer with XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX they refuse to support me in my position and are unfairly charging me these bogus and egregious amounts. The charges are in error because the items were refused, the company XXXX employed deceptive practices when I was " sold '' these items. I can provide XXXX XXXX Proof of Delivery, tracking information, documentation of shipment with delivery dates, and copies of reviews from many customers showing they were defrauded with similar incidences as my situation. Furthermore, according to the Hawaii Unfair Deceptive Trade Practices Act, this is fraud. XXXX misinformed me about the product which was returned and the way the situation was dealt with was egregious. They pulled the wool over my eyes and did not inform me what I was signing. Their representative pulled me in off the street and delivered a high-pressure sales pitch. This is not buyers remorse, it is fraud. According to the attached reviews on XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX, this company has a pattern of deception and has scammed many other customers in a similar fashion. If the packages were returned to them unopened and I do not have the product, I do not see why XXXX, and American Express are charging me for a " product '' that I don't have. I am filing this complaint and requesting that the error be corrected with the credit card companies and that any finance charges will be waived. I will await confirmation that you will be reversing these unfair charges. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. # XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX

Subissue: Problem with rewards from credit card
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I applied and was approved for the American Express XXXX XXXX online at americanexpress.com. As part of signing up for the XXXX XXXX, American Express offered me XXXX membership rewards points if I spend {$4000.00} on the new card in XXXX months. I received the XXXX XXXX a few days later. Within 2 or 3 months, I had spent over {$4000.00} on the card, and continuously checked my American Express account for the membership rewards points I was owed. However, they did not appear. I made a call to American Express around XX/XX/XXXX, and expressed my concern, but was told that it may take up to a month to receive my points. I continued to wait but did not receive the points. It was at this point, after multiple calls to American Express, that I learned that American Express will not be giving me the points because the " offer listed on my account '' was for a spend of {$5000.00} in XXXX months, which I did not meet. This was the first time I had heard of this discrepancy. In XX/XX/XXXX I called American Express at least 6 times to try to get this resolved to no avail. They seem to have no record of the actual offer they presented to me in XX/XX/XXXX.
