Consumer Complaint: I purchased an amex egift card online yesterday and even though it states on the amex balance check website that the cards are good to use at any online stores and can be used within your online wallet accounts, I was not redeemable anywhere and can be gifted to others, that is false. I tried to use it to purchase minutes for my cellphone service, I tried adding to my XXXX wallet and my daughters XXXX account and they all failed.the cvc number even came back Invalid during the call when I entered the card over the phone to check the balance activation. I held online for over an hour and the representative provided no help at all and told me that there was nothing wring with the card and nothing she could do. She also refused to provide me a contact phone number for her corporate office. This was my second or third time in the past year exoeriencing issues with Amex gift cards, which is whyy I only purchased a small gift card amount yesterday of {$25.00} +tax because I wanted to make sure the card would work first and it did not. Amex refuses to set clear expectations for customers and leave XXXX stuck with faulty cards that we can't use practically anywhere. I haven't been able tonuse it to pay a bill because I can't even get past adding the card into my XXXX oayment system, it rejects the card altogether. The cards are useless and then amex charges fees when the transactions decline. They should be out out of business because of their unscrupulous practice. There are custimers online all over the web describing the same types of issues with these Amex cards and they continue to sell them blindly. Please investigate this company and their business practices and/ or share the information with the FTC if applicable, > also plan to reach out to them as well. Subsequently I can not even login to the website anymore now to even check the balance of the card because it keeps giving me wrror messages as if the information isn't correc. AGAIN the cuaromer service agents refused to address the issue.

Consumer Complaint: 1- I received by mail an Offer from XXXX XXXX to apply for XXXX XXXX American Express XXXX XXXX The Offer included XXXX Bonus Points and a XXXX XXXX Introductory Interest Rate for XXXX months on Purchases. This Offer had Expiration Date of XX/XX/XXXX. 2- In XX/XX/XXXX, I applied for this XXXX Card using Custom Offer Code : XXXX, which was included in the Offer Document. 3- In XX/XX/XXXX, I took advantage of the XXXX XXXX Interest Rate and made a {$4000.00} Charges. 4- When I received Credit Card Statement for XX/XX/XXXX, I discovered that American Express STARTED to charge me a XXXX % Interest which is contradicting their Original Offer oXXXX XXXX % for XXXX months. 5- On XX/XX/XXXX, I called American Express Customer Services and Spoke to XXXX XXXX and filed a Complaint under Case # XXXX regarding the start-up of charging me interest before the end of The XXXX Promotional Period which should have been ended in XX/XX/XXXX. 6- From XX/XX/XXXX up to XX/XX/XXXX, I did not hear any responses from American Express about the results of my Case. 7- On XX/XX/XXXX, I called American Express Customer Services and Spoke to XXXX XXXX who advised me that the Case was closed without any results. 8- So, I requested from him to open another case for the same 0 % issue. Another XXXX # XXXX was opened. 9- From XX/XX/XXXX till Today, XX/XX/XXXX, I have not received any responses or correspondences from American Express regarding my Case and results of their Offer to me for the XXXX % Interest for XXXX months. 10- It is clearly obvious to me that American Express is deliberately avoiding the admission of their mistake and unequivocally, decided to not honor their WRITTEN OFFER to me of XXXX % Interest for XXXX months and instead, they elected to make more money without any regards to their misleading and deceiving Advertisement. 11- Because of American Express 's ignorance, they have been charging me a {$650.00} in Interest Charges from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. 12- THIS IS AN UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICE IN XXXX XXXX most importantly, HURTING AND HARMING A SENIOR CITIZEN OVER XXXX YEARS-OLD IN PARTICULAR. 13- American Express MUST honor their own offer and should not have charged me the {$650.00} for Interest Charges that supposedly are going to start in XX/XX/XXXX when the XXXX months Promotional Period ends in XX/XX/XXXX. 14- American Express MUST immediately reverse ALL interest charges totaled {$650.00} that added to my account and inflated my outstanding balance unjustifiable.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022, I sent a letter to American Express asking them to verify a debt by providing the original signed contract. This letter was sent certified and received on XX/XX/2022. I received a response stating that my address did not match what they had on file. I sent a follow up letter asking for verification of the debt since I had not received one previously. When they responded, they said it was a duplicate request but did not send the original signed contract with my signature on it. Shortly after, they sent around 300 pages of statements, but did not send a signed original contract verifying that the debt did in fact belong to me.

Consumer Complaint: I hold an Platinum credit card account with American Express. One of their benefits offered with the card is a {$50.00} credit when making a purchase with a specific vendor, XXXX XXXX XXXX. I made a qualifying purchase on XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of {$67.00}. Amex issued the {$50.00} benefit credit on XX/XX/XXXX. The item was not received and was lost in the delivery process. The vendor provided a credit to reorder the item on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, Amex charged me {$50.00} as a retroactive revocation of the benefit paid on XX/XX/XXXX. The terms and conditions of the cardholder agreement between American Express and myself state that the benefit amount can only be revoked under certain circumstances : " Statement credit may be reversed if the eligible purchase is returned/cancelled. '' or " If American Express, in its sole discretion, determines that you have engaged in or intend to engage in any manner of abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with this benefit, American Express will not have an obligation to provide statement credits and may reverse any statement credits provided to you. '' I contacted American Express about the credit reversal and explained that I neither returned nor cancelled the order. I made a qualifying order that met all the conditions listed in the terms and conditions and was credited the benefit accordingly. The vendor provided a credit to reorder the merchandise based on it not being delivered. American Express responded that they would reverse the credit in any case in which the charge was reversed, even if it did not involve a return or cancellation. I asserted that their revocation and policy was not consistent with the terms and conditions, but they refused to change their position on the {$50.00} retroactive bill for the credit.

However, the company continued to charge for the classes ( actually double charged us ). There were two charges, for {$78.00} and {$130.00}. Both the company and American express refused to refund the charges even though we cancelled the services after a couple months.

Consumer Complaint: Greetings, I currently hold the American Express XXXX XXXX credit card. Unfortunately, American Express hasn't been crediting my miles for months. Upon reaching customer service they said I violated the terms and agreements and that I would have to return the earned miles. I didn't cancel the credit card and I received a XXXX offer to switch product. I've been a XXXXXXXX XXXX credit card holder for years, I'm being penalized for the offers that American Express send out to customers. There's no transparency, even my credit card expenses doesn't reflect on my medallion qualification status. Consumer Complaint: I signed up for an American Express XXXX XXXX XXXX that promised XXXX membership rewards points after spending $ XXXX. I spent the $ XXXX and noticed that the points hadn't posted after a few days. After calling American Express they said this would be fixed in a few days. Today I called back after a week of not hearing anything, and was told that I would have to wait 12 weeks to begin the process of escalating. They also said that I would have to pay the $ XXXX bill in the meantime. This is not what I signed up for. The points should be posted on my account already, or I shouldn't be required to pay the $ XXXX bill until the points have been delivered. All reports I read online say that this will drag on for months and that American Express will never actually deliver these points. I am getting multiple conflicting reports from American Express as to what the issue is. But the short answer is that I have spent the $ XXXX that I agreed to, so now they should add the XXXX membership rewards points onto my account.
