Consumer Complaint: A business card that I had with American Express from a previous business was used fraudulently for a hotel stay. I disputed the charge with American Express and they accepted and applied the dispute amount to someone elses credit card and kept this card open. The fraudulent charge remained on this card without my knowledge. American Express closed by active business card without my knowledge leading to a bad credit filing. Ive been a card holding member of American Express since 1991. American Express acted negligently.

Consumer Complaint: I received XXXX American Express XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX for separately the amounts of {$1000.00} and {$750.00}. Each XXXX XXXX has a Valid Thru date of XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I realized that I still had {$140.00} remaining funds on the XXXX XXXX ending in XXXX, and {$350.00} remaining funds on the XXXX XXXX ending in XXXX. On XXXX I noticed that my balance for both cards was XXXX and that the remaining balances as noted above were debited as " XXXX '' in the transaction ledger through the below portal. On XXXX I called the American Express XXXX XXXX Customer Service hotline because my cardholder statement on the back of my e-gift card ( attachments included ) states that " Gift Cards with a valid-thru date do not expire '' and that I can simply request a new one if the valid-thru date has passed. During this call on XXXX I requested that I receive a new XXXX card with my remaining funds in the above balance. I was told I was not able to receive my funds because they had expired, even despite the statement on the American Express XXXX XXXX indicating otherwise. On XXXX I called American Express customer service again, and was met with combativeness, defensiveness, and was even hung up on when I argued that I was entitled to my remaining balance on these gift cards. The customer service representative even went so far to give me a false number to NY XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, lying to me that this was their complaint number at American Express. I have attached my consumer view of my eGift card number, balance, and the terms that explicitly state that " eGift Card Funds DO NOT Expire '' through https : //balance.amexgiftcard.com.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023. I booked a rental car with online car rental broken ( XXXX XXXX ) -I pre paid for the rental on the same day using my American Express Card . -I arrived at XXXX XXXX Airport to pickup the car however the ( XXXX Agent stated He could not release a car to me as the system would not allow it ) I spoke to their customer service team at the same time over speakerphone at the airport at the time of rental. The customer service agent agreed with the counter agent that they could not release a car. Upon returning home I was angry and I sent a formal email to XXXX XXXX XXXX about the incident ( my Rental was booked at XXXX hours ) There would be CCTV and my wife who dropped me to the Airport to Collect the car is proof I was there at thhe right time. ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) has been a problematic company to deal with, with no telephone numbers just emails. I have my enitre records of emails with them. On the same day and date I realised something was not righht so at the night I contacted American Express raising a dispute charge against XXXX XXXX XXXX for the XXXX XXXX XXXX ( I called Amex on the night and told them about the incident and thhat XXXX XXXX XXXX should not get paid as thhey refused to provide a service which I purchased. However AMEX the and their unwise customer service chat agent raised a dispute with XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX for a charge in XXXX for a booking in XXXX. ( I would come to realise what they did sometime later when they refused my dispute thhe mistake they made ) I corrected it and they still screwed it up multiple times. Finally AMEX returned a dispute note to me saying They were happy with the lies XXXX XXXX XXXX have provided them thhat " I did not show up for my rental '' I have witnesses along if needed i will get thhe name and staff memeber at XXXX who dealt with me as evidence I showed up. This whole month stressful not only having to deal with a awful credit card company that really does not offer any form of protection for paying online but at thhe same time dealing withh lying firm and car rental broker XXXX XXXX XXXX and a pathetic XXXX rental company. I have enough evidence and AMEX should have enough evidence as I had to book a car the following morning with a more reputable car rental company XXXX. I was booking a car as my personal car was rear ended. AMEX wont accept liability that they paid a firm who failed to provide a service that I paid for and shhowed up at the right time to collect! instead thhey have believed the lies of a rental broker who has no evidence for any of their claims! I would like my money returned I paid for a service I did not get and if not I will proceed witht heh matter legally AMEX failed to provide any protection

Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern, I am writing to dispute an unauthorized inquiry on my credit report. On XX/XX/XXXX American Express pulled my credit report and noticed a credit inquiry that I did not authorize. I contacted American Express regarding the unauthorized inquiry and requested that they remove the inquiry from my credit profile. At this time, I am requesting that you launch an investigation into the inquiry by American Express Name to determine who authorized it. I never authorized this company to pull my credit profile. I am requesting that it be removed from my credit report and an updated copy of my credit report be sent to the address listed above upon resolution of the investigation. please send me proof along with a description of your investigation procedures within 15 days of the closure of this dispute. Thanks in advance for your assistance with this matter.

Consumer Complaint: I was provided two gift cards from XXXX as a way of getting cashback from purchases I made in the past. Unfortunately, the gift cards do not work on any purchases I attempt to make online. I double and triple checked that all the fields were inputted correctly, but the purchases still can not be made. I attempted to contact American Express about this issue, but the customer service number provided did not have any information on the issue and there was no capability to speak to a live person about this. Further, upon researching the issue, it appears to be an ongoing problem with American Express, and the only recourse appears to be contacting the CFPB. Attached as evidence is the two gift cards and a screenshot of a XXXX order that could not be placed with the {$14.00} gift card. Please note that the print out of the {$14.00} gift card shows a balance of {$13.00} as XXXX attempted to charge {$.00} to the card during my screenshotted order attempt. Thank You.

Consumer Complaint: After many years of making payments on time, American Express failed to credit my XXXX electronic payment on time. I always pay off my balance in full to avoid interest charges, but the one payment issue resulted in a late fee and XXXX additional interest charges totaling {$130.00} and forefitted reward points. American Express scheduled my due date on XX/XX/XXXX even though it is a national and banking holiday. I used my bank 's bill pay service to send the payment on XX/XX/XXXX so it would arrive a day before the due date on XX/XX/XXXX. Attached is a copy of my bill pay statement showing the payment would be sent on XXXX and received on XXXX. Also attached is my bank statement showing the XXXX payment cleared my bank on XXXX. A month later I noticed American Express didn't credit my account until XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX day after their due date. I spent at least an hour on the phone with American Express to try and resolve the issue. They said their system shows the payment was credited at XXXX AM on XX/XX/XXXX. They opened a case but then closed it without notifying me or asking for any supporting documentation. I find it hard to believe they didn't have access to my payment before XXXX PM on XX/XX/XXXX. I think they had their systems turned off for the holiday even though they are the ones who set the due date on a holiday. I am requesting the charges and reward points be refunded since I have evidence they had access to the payment on XX/XX/XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of 2023 I applied for an Amex Delta SkyMiles Reserve Card due to a sign up bonus offer received. I was told that after spending {$5000.00} which I did I would be awarded XXXX Bonus Miles and XXXX XXXX XXXX. However, I only received XXXX bonus miles. After numerous phone callas to Amex and being told the situation would be investigated nothing was ever resolved. I also sent 2 complaint letters and filed a complaint with the XXXX XXXX XXXX and Amex still refuses to honor the agreement. I believe they are engaging in deceptive or misleading practices as well as False Advertising. I have the written offer and although I referenced this fact, they still are unwilling to honor the Bonus Offer made to me when I applied for this card. I am asking that they credit my account with the additional XXXX Bonus miles or pay/provide a credit of the equivalent dollar amount value for XXXX Bonus Miles which are calculated at XXXX cents per mile.
