Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: I first applied for PSLF in XX/XX/XXXX. I have always been on a qualifying payment plan - since XX/XX/XXXX when I first consolidated with my spouse- I have had one loan ( even though this was a consolidated direct loan ) - forgiven, but for some reason, they have left me in administrative forbearance with this " second loan '' for 3 years. My qualifying payment counts keep going up, I reapply every time they do, but I now have AT LEAST 163 qualifying payments and am still not being forgiven. I have been told by student aid. gov that Fedloan needed to remove the forbearance for me to be forgiven, Fedloan said that's not true, so they did not. I have been told that the second loan is my spouse 's part, but he died in XXXX, before I ever applied, and, edfinancial, our previous servicer, said they had forgiven his portion. In the meantime, the waiver comes along, and people who were never even eligible are being forgiven and getting thousands of dollars back, and here I sit, watching my qualifying payment count go up, reapplying over and over and over, and am still not forgiven. Also : Fedloan is supposed to be transferring these to XXXX, I have not heard one word that I will be transferred or forgiven.

Consumer Complaint: I took this loan to study XXXX XXXX after I retired from teaching. I needed to have something to do in my retirement. After a year into the program, I realized that I may not b able to repay this loan if I continued with the program. So, I dropped out of the program and started to repay the loan already taken. Now, with the loan forgiveness program, I would like the remaining of my loan to be forgiven.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2022 my two federal student loans transferred from FedLoan Servicing to XXXX. After the two accounts were successfully transferred to XXXX, I paid the loans off in XX/XX/2022. I did reach out to FedLoan on their website to notify them that the loans are still showing on my credit report as an open account with them, but I did not receive a response. I have also attempted to dispute the information through XXXX ( via XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX through their website. I submitted documents showing the notification I received regarding the transfer as well as the payoff letters I received from XXXX, but the accounts are still showing to be open as of today, XX/XX/2022.

Consumer Complaint: I submitted an initial request for a refund on my paid off student loans under the cares act for payments made after XX/XX/XXXX, and the initial request did not go through. After submitting a second request through a follow up call on XX/XX/XXXX, the customer service representative quoted me an estimated 6 months or 120 business days before I would receive my refund. Other individuals and companies have quoted 30-45 days and so I believe that with the deadline of submitting for a refund request on XXXX this is not an appropriate timeline to process the refund.

Consumer Complaint: I submitted an employment contribution form showing I work at a qualifying employer. My form shows I started employment on XX/XX/2021 and it continues to present. Fedloan Servicing decided to rob me of credit for XX/XX/2021 and XX/XX/2021 and list my start date as XX/XX/2021. When I called them last time it took two and a half hours to reach someone and they did not resolve my issue. I would like Fedloan Servicing to do their job of properly counting my payments. It is worth noting they still have not given me credit for XXXX, but this is a new complaint about how I am being robbed of credit for other payment periods.

Consumer Complaint: I called FedLoanServicing to request refunds for payments I made during the federal payment pause. I am eligible to receive refunds due to federal law. The loan agent I spoke with denied my request 4-5 times over the span of more than 2 hours. I informed her that I am in fact eligible and she denied that I was. She had me wait on hold multiple times, for several minutes at a time. The last hold she had me wait on was over 40 minutes and continued into their closing time. I hung up and called back and could not reach an agent because they were closed. I believe she intentionally left me on hold for this long into closing time so she would no longer have to speak with me. I called again on XX/XX/22. The first agent I spoke with denied my request and transferred me to his supervisor. I waited on hold for over 20 minutes and decided to hang up and call back. This time, the agent I spoke with was very kind and processed my request. She told me I can expect a refund as early as XX/XX/22 and that my closed accounts would be reinstated according to amount refunded. I thanked her. I called on XX/XX/22 to request an update on the status of my refund. The first agent I spoke with stated she could provide no update or any additional details other than a request has been received and it may take 30-45 days to receive a refund. I requested to speak to a supervisor. When the supervisor answered she asked if I wanted to request a refund. I stated that my refund request has already been submitted and that I am requesting a status update on my refund request because I was told I can expect the refund as early as XX/XX/22. The agent stated she can provide no additional details other than the refund may take up 180 days. I am complaining because 1 ) some agents are flat out denying requests 2 ) some agents are reluctant to process requests 3 ) agents are giving inconsistent information and cant provide pertinent details.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2021 {$10000.00} I paid the company in ONE payment. I paid off the total balance of my student loans to MyFedLoan Servicing Company. This payment was made during COVID. They refuse to refund me my payment and state that my loans have been transferred to another service but will not tell me who that servicer is. I desperately need these funds back from MyFedLoan Servicing.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, On Thursday, XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted FedLoan Servicing after receiving the news of Biden 's Loan Forgiveness. I saw on the Federal Student Aid website that we were able to request a refund on payments made throughout the payment pause that started in XXXX. I went ahead and asked them to do that but was immediately taken aback when they notified me that the processing times would be a minimum of 150 days. Throughout the pandemic I paid almost $ XXXX in payments. It seems as though FedLoan Servicing is the ONLY student loan provider who is quoting these ridiculous wait times. XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX are only quoting 3-8 weeks turnaround time and those I know with those loan providers are already seeing their loans reflected on their account. What's worrying to me is that they application for forgiveness. They stated that our loan balances won't be processing any of these in time for us to receive forgiveness. They stated that our loan balances won't be reinstated until the refund is processed which won't be until XXXX at the earliest for them. The interest rates and payments will resume again in XXXX. They told me on the phone that they can not send out confirmation emails or anything to prove that they indeed send in my request. I realize with the influx of calls that getting our money back could take a while, but it's very concerning to me that they're saying this entire process can take longer than 6 months to a year when every single other student loan provider has a way quicker turnaround despite having thousands of requests as well. Currently getting that money back would be life changing for me as well as many others. So, seeing other people 's loan providers reinstating their balance after requesting it in just 36-72 hours later makes me very concerned that this company does not have our best interests at heart. Regards, XXXX XXXX
