I was never asked to send any paperwork in the police report. Issue: Charged fees or interest you didn't expect
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: I signed up for an account with Wells Fargo that offered an interest free period. It was explained to me that the interest free period would not start until the work was completed and that as long as I made my monthly payments on time, I would not be charged interest on the account. I made all payments as requested by Wells Fargo. I was charged this month an interest fee over 100 % of the remaining balance on my account despite making all monthly payments on time. When I contacted Wells Fargo, I was told although I made the monthly payments in the amount requested, my monthly payments did not fulfill the loan within the time period and therefore I was charged a significant amount of interest. This conflicts with the information I was verbally provided and is predatory lending. Had I been told that the monthly amount requested from Wells Fargo would not fulfill the loan requirements for the interest free period, I would have either paid in full earlier or made larger monthly payments. Wells Fargo has refused to eliminate the interest charges despite my offer to pay full balance at this time. I find their lending practices predatory in nature and unacceptable, especially for an organization as large as Wells Fargo.

Consumer Complaint: I went into the XXXX MN Wells Fargo branch. I spoke with XXXX XXXX about a garnishment that was taken from my account on XX/XX/2023 for {$61.00}. I provided him with an exemption form that was filled out proving my exemption from garnishment. He said not only did he not want to take any forms from me but I'm not allowed to speak with the legal department. He asked me to wait in their waiting area and said he would contact the legal department. He then came back and said if I wanted to give him any forms to submit to the legal department he would do his best to TRY to get it to them but could not guarantee me that he would. I also said I do not want to see any NSF fees applied to my account because of this unlawful garnishment. He told me he could do nothing about that. I have now figured out how to contact the legal department at Wells Fargo. I submitted a complaint with them that they never served me with documents to prove my exemption and that they unlawfully allowed an exemption to be taken. The legal department at Wells Fargo said based on my exemption they received on XX/XX/2023 it should have been reviewed immediately and my account should have been refunded the garnished amount. If that were to have happened I would not have XXXX NSF fees applied to my account for other transactions processed through my account. So now I have XXXX {$35.00} NSF fees applied as of XX/XX/2023 because this garnishment made my account negative so that the other transactions were not covered. The legal department told me I'd be on my own to dispute that with customer service. My account is currently at - {$130.00} and I can not get anyone to help me. Not the bank or the law firm who served the garnishment request on the bank.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: I purchased tickets from Box Office Sales to a concert and the seller did not provide the tickets, charged my credit card incorrectly ( more than agreed ), and did not provide a service offered ( insurance ) in the closing documents. I filed a dispute with my bank and according to my credit agreement if the seller does not respond within a timeframe the dispute gets settled in my favor. Also, the card was an XXXX and has specific rules on disputes that Wells Fargo did not follow in the resolution. Nearly 3 months later they called me and told me that the charges stand and nothing can be done. I still do not have the tickets, an adjustment to the overcharged amounts, or the insurance purchased.

Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue: Applying for or obtaining a modification, forbearance plan, short sale, or deed-in-li
Consumer Complaint: Last year in XX/XX/XXXX, I applied for a mortgage loan modification after I had been on a forebearance/prior to the covid relief program the previous year XXXX due to less hours at work via the Pandemic. I applied for the mortgage modification due to me not being able to pay the mortgage and Wells Fargo held on to the application for processing for one entire year. My mortgage is a FHA loan. The interest rate was a fixed interest rate of 3.35 % when I applied for the mortgage modification. Due to Wells Fargo holding on to the paperwork for one entire year the interest rate went up three times. My paperwork was held up due to incompetence, paperwork was cancelled then reinstated, failure to communicate, wrong communication from different representatives and price-rate gouging. Once the paperwork was completed after numerous complaints that I had with representatives, supervisors and complaint board. The mortgage modification was approved with a fixed interest rate of 6.60 % for XXXX. Due to all the back and forth and incompetencies The Federal Government raised the interest rate XXXX times within XXXX. FHA has done nothing to assist with lowering my mortgage payment. My interest rate doubled and the mortgage payment increased by {$200.00}. Wells Fargo is at fault for flat out incompetence, failure to communicate, dismissing my mortgage modification application without communicating with me. Horrible service, one hand not knowing what the other was doing. It was a disaster. A mortgage modification should only take 30-60 days. My mortgage motification was dragged out for one entire year. Once the mortgage modification was approved the fixed interest rate was doubled and the mortgage payment went up {$200.00}. The purpose of me applying for a mortgage modification in the first place is because I couldn't afford the current mortgage payment of {$640.00} at the time due to me still getting established at a job that pays me less than what I previously was making due to the Pandemic. Since then as a customer of Wells Fargo they have completed the paperwork for the mortgage modification with the current mortgage payment that is due of {$830.00}. If I couldn't afford the previous mortgage payment and my financial status hasn't changed. How is this a reasonable solution or aid for me the customer regarding my mortgage payment. Wells Fargo claimed that this is all they can do. The mortgage modification had me on three months of trial payments for the {$830.00}. I made them by borrowing money, missing payments on my auto loan and being late on other utility bills to keep from Wells Fargo putting my house in foreclosure. FHA loans are known for being approved to low to mid income customers with low credit scores. Red lining, price and rate gouging as well as predatory lending practices are perpetual norms of Wells Fargo institutions and FHA loan practices. Plenty of lawsuits have been made against Wells Fargo for deceptive practices within the auto, mortgage, credit card services and much more. I've had auto and credit card deceptive practices done to me and my family from Wells Fargo. Money owed for an auto accident with an upside down loan that Wells Fargo gave me. As well as, a fradulent credit card account opened up on my mother who is now deceased since XXXX. I will take this complaint to the District Attorney 's Office and to the highest place of complaint and suit until something is done to STOP Wells Fargo Institutions and FHA for it's predarory and deceptive lending practices. I want my fixed mortgage rate to be returned to the 3.35 % and help with lowering my monthly payment. As well as I want the interest rate to return to what it was before these deceptive, illegal and predatory lending practices were made against me.
