Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX on a Saturday my daughter was fraudulently offered a deposit that she could use if it was successful in reaching her account. She spoke with USAA and two separate reps talked her through the details. The funds were released because of strong history and she send {$600.00} to the scammer. That Monday I called the bank, notified them if the fraud, and disputed the {$600.00} XXXX transaction off the {$1500.00} deposit. USAA rejected the deposit, provisional credit was given on the disputed transaction, and I thought finalized. I just received documents that USAA fraud team is now saying the {$600.00} transaction was not fraud and we are liable. That cant even make sense when the entire transaction was fraud. A police report was filed. Ive begged to speak with the fraud team, which is impossible. I worked in banking for 18 years. I know this entire transaction is fraud. Im desperate to get this resolved correctly. USAA is holding a victim accountable as if we are the criminals. Im so hoping CFPB can help.

Issue: Problem caused by your funds being low
Subissue: Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Consumer Complaint: Hello, sorry I have to file a complaint against USAA again. This will be my final one against them as I have open a XXXX XXXX account and will be leaving them due to this fraudulent transaction. On XX/XX/XXXX my payroll check was deposited {$2500.00}. That same day, USAA hot me with a {$100.00} overdraft fee. My checking account was getting low but was still above XXXX. My savings had {$92.00} in it. I would have moved the money over if needed but it wasnt necessary. USAA charges my credit card {$100.00} but they never put the {$100.00} into my checking account. I opened a complaint on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, they said they were wrong and rolled back the {$100.00} transaction. I thought it was over at this point. On XX/XX/XXXX I got a notice about something in my inbox. I read it and couldnt make sense of it. I noticed they put another {$100.00} on my credit card and this time they put {$100.00} into my checking account. Why? I didnt need it. The reason I believe they are doing this is because I have some debt from my divorce in XXXX that I have sitting on the credit card. Its at XXXX interest rate as long as no new charges are accrued. Now, they can charge me interest. This is FRAUD and I am requesting you to investigate and perform in person audits of USAAs overdraft process. I the past, USAA pulled from savings first but the rep I spoke with on XX/XX/XXXX said that changed in XXXX and many didnt know about it. I did not. I have removed tgis feature from my USAA account even thou I am leaving them, I am no risking it.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: I filed a dispute with USAA regarding Credit Card Dispute # XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for {$560.00} for a service purchased in XX/XX/XXXX. I provided mountains of evidence, including proof that the individual that sold me a service was fraudulently misrepresenting himself as a business without having a legitimate business license. The window tint he applied was bubbling off the window within 10 days and peeling off the window within 45 days. I provided 28 pages of evidence that shows I attempted to resolve this amicably with the fraudulent business in question. I spoke with USAA staff multiple times and was assured that the information I provided was sufficient to support the dispute and that they " would be surprised if USAA didn't side with me. '' I also informed them I wanted it changed to a fraud dispute, as I had proven the seller of the service was using deceptive business practices to make sales. On XX/XX/XXXX USAA denied my dispute claiming that I didn't supply sufficient evidence. Two days prior I had spoken with USAA staff and was informed that they had significantly sufficient levels of evidence. USAA will not allow me to speak with a member of the dispute resolution team and instead makes me talk with entry level phone staff and play the game of pass the message. I am a XXXX year USAA member and have filed exactly 2 disputes with them. They have denied both of them despite mountains of evidence in both cases. In both cases they have refused to allow me to talk with members of the dispute team.
