Issue: Trouble during payment process

Consumer Complaint: When my mortgage was set up through XXXX XXXX XXXX It was for a XXXX loan with insurance coming out of escrow. At some point after that u.s Bank bought my mortgage from them and when that happened u.s Bank failed to properly set up the insurance payments to my insurance company which forced them to cancel my policy after 4 months of non-payment. I was only made aware of this when I received a letter from US Bank telling me that they had purchased a homeowners insurance policy in my name for well over double what my other policy was. Now my mortgage payment has gone from aprox XXXX to over XXXX dollars. Because my escrow account went well over {$2000.00} in the negative when they set up this new policy. I went to US Bank in person and sat down with someone a month ago they helped me type up a letter and send it to US Bank 's department that deals with the situation. That was XX/XX/XXXX. I have not heard anything back. Be it mail or phone.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I received this text asking if I attempted a {$3500.00} scheduled XXXX payment. I replied " No ''. They called my phone immediately afterwards. The caller id said " US Bank ''. I answered, he says he's going to help me protect my money. So while impersonating a US Bank employee, he tricked me into " moving my money '' to my new XXXX account with my name as a contact. Long story short, I was scammed for {$3500.00}. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. ( So XXXX not rich by a long shot ). So I really feel foolish for trusting my " bank '' to protect my savings, and I lost it all. I even filed a police report. I have that to US Bank as well. They did an investigation, only to deny my claim. I was just introduced to Regulation E. But it's confusing to me how to go about it. Please help me refund my money.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2021, my fianc and I purchased a XXXX XXXX bike. The bike was stolen in XX/XX/2021, and we filed a claim with our insurance company, XXXX. The claim was settled in XX/XX/2021 and a settlement check was issued for {$320.00}. I deposited the settlement check into my account in XX/XX/2021 and after a few days I checked my account to see if the check had cleared prior to spending the money. The check had cleared so I paid my final bill for XXXX off with the settlement check I had received from XXXX. With no warning, US Bank reversed the check and did not notify me. I noticed a negative balance when I logged into my account and called to ask why. I spoke with a representative at US Bank who said the check was not reversed, but they had never cashed it because XXXX put a stop payment on the check. I explained to them that I saw the check clear in my account and i explained that XXXX issued the settlement check and would not put a stop payment on it. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and offered to give them my claim adjuster 's phone number, which they did not accept. I called my claims adjuster and she agreed to speak with US Bank and told me that she can see the bank has cashed the check from her end so she could not reissue the check. US Bank refused to assist me, they dropped calls every time I called, they did not give me a valid reason for reversing the check, they never notified me, if I hadn't noticed I wouldn't have known until they closed my account. US Bank never tried to work with me to resolve this issue, and they charged me NSF fees for their mistake. When I asked for a letter stating why they closed my account they sent me a letter stating that it was closed due to overdrafts, and never addressed that they reversed my settlement check.

Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Charged too much interest
Consumer Complaint: I did a Balance Transfer, was charged a fee, to receive a zero percent APR on that balance transfer. I continued making purchases on that card but always made on time payments in excess of purchases to take down that balance transfer. As per the credit card agreement, for purchases I am supposed to receive a 24 to 30 day grace on interest on purchases. The way the credit card allocated the payments, they would allocate my payments against my balance transfer so that I wouldn't pay my purchases for the month in full, and as such allowed the credit card company to continue charging me interest. My understanding is that payments should be made against the higher rate balances first, which would be my monthly purchases, and then apply any additional payment against the 0 % balance transfer. When that wasn't being done, I asked the credit card company to explain how my payments was being allocated and so I can avoid the interest. They would not furnish this information to me on my request. As a result, I have been assessed hundreds of dollars in interest charges over the 0 % APR promotional period. I think the bank is not acting in good faith and given they wouldn't disclose how my payments were being allocated, that is a deceptive tactic. I should be compensated for the interest charges I have been assessed.

Subissue: Information belongs to someone else
Consumer Complaint: Someone added me illegally to a US Bank Credit Card account as an authorized user without my consent or knowledge. Ive reached out to US Bank countless times about this situation. On XXXX XXXX in particular, a US Bank Representative by the name of XXXX told me that she knows fraud has been going on with this account because they havent been able to contact the primary account owner for quite sometime. She said I am not responsible for the debt and that the account would be deleted off my report within 30 days from XXXX XXXX. As of XXXX the account is still showing on my report. On XXXX XXXX I contacted XXXX to file a dispute over the US Bank credit account in question and to notify them of this fraud only for a day later on XX/XX/2022, for them to tell me that my dispute has been updated and the information is staying the same. Ive tried doing the right thing but Im tired of going back and forth. This US Bank account in question is not mine, I did not authorize anyone to add me as an authorized user, this debt is not mine and it needs to be deleted immediately! This is FRAUD!

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I disputed {$6200.00} for services I did not receive from XXXX. On or about XX/XX/XXXX I was issued a provisional credit for {$6200.00} from US Bank. I did not receive any request for additional documents, nothing by mail, email, phone, text, or online notification within the US Bank portal, or from XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I noticed {$6200.00} was deducted from my business checking account with US Bank. Upon calling US Bank customer service they referred me to their Cardmember Services Department in North Dakota. I was told at that time US Bank had concluded their investigation on XX/XX/XXXX and mailed me a letter which I should receive within 10 days, On XX/XX/XXXX I called Cardmember Services again and explained I had not received any letters and asked that they read me the address on file. US Bank had erroneously mailed both the document request letter XX/XX/XXXX, and the notification letter XX/XX/XXXX to me personally not my business and they did not include the suite number. On XX/XX/XXXX I asked that the dispute be reopened because US Bank did not follow the proper timeline set by XXXX and upon their own admission mailed both letters to the wrong recipient and without identifying the proper suite number. On XX/XX/XXXX I received another letter this one mysteriously now included my suite number which was dated XX/XX/XXXX. US Bank now claims that under XXXX Regulations they have no recourse. I have tried making contact with XXXX XXXX but can not get anything but an auto-response stating they have nothing to do with their own cards that banks make their own rules which is a much different story than US Bank . After complaining to CFPB, US Bank CEO XXXX XXXX, Chief Legal Council, and every other federal watchdog I could find I received a letter sent to my home address from XXXX, Office of the President claiming the following ; documents received after allotted time frames and unable to assist per XXXX, the responsibility of providing us with accurate mailing address which they had, and finally in the absence of bank error, we are unable to grant your request. I have asked XXXX for a copy of their guidelines and they have refused to answer. I believe US Bank did error as they were provided a copy of my business documents which included the suite number. US Bank sent the document request and decision letter to me personally and without a suite number but when I filed a complaint the letters magically included the suite number or were sent to my home.

They still are denying me still to these date and they can not reveal to me what the issue of why. Ive been patient and some supervisors have given me false information as if they were poorly trained. It doesnt look good!
