Consumer Complaint: I found out this morning that a trusted friend has split my income tax refund and have half sent to a US Bank XXXX account ending in XXXX. The IRS has requested a paper check but due to the refund being sent by direct deposit on XX/XX/22, they can not guarantee that it can be cancelled. I contacted US Bank to find out why are they accepting refunds if the person 's name is not on the account. I have been told they do not do a name check. US Bank unethical practice is why this person chose this bank. The IRS site stated that if the name does not match, it should be rejected but US shady business practices is enabling these fraudsters to defraud US taxpayers out of their hard earn money!

Consumer Complaint: We requested an appraisal of our home to potentially remove the Private Mortgage Insurance requirement since we believe our home value is below 80 %. We paid US Bank {$450.00} for the appraisal. While the appraiser was in our home they asked what the appraisal was for which we responding the removal of PMI. The appraiser then asked if what we needed the appraisal to come in at, we responded with at least {$430000.00}. We felt a little uncomfortable by that question, but waited until we got the results from the appraisal. We received the appraisal back on XXXX which showed a home value at {$420000.00}. {$420000.00} was the same value as a smaller home that had been sold on our same street many months prior to the appraisal ( homes in our area have continued to increase in value ). We called that day and US Bank said we needed to wait for a letter back. We received the first letter Dated XX/XX/XXXX notifying us that the LTV requirement wasn't met and we could file a reconsideration of value request and send it back. We filled out the included forms and wrote a letter back ( attached as Appraisal ) and place in the mail on XX/XX/XXXX. We hadn't heard anything back, so we called back at the end of XXXX. The rep told us they were still reviewing it, but that we could also email them. We then called back a week later and the rep said we didn't respond in time. When we emailed the letter it had been 63 days since the date of the appraisal and needed to be within 60 days. After speaking with a senior representative they were able to find the original letter which they received on XX/XX/XXXX. The senior rep said they would reopen the reconsideration of value. Since that conversation, I received a letter dated XXXX that stated I didn't respond in time and a second letter date XX/XX/XXXX which was the same as the original reconsideration of value letter dated XX/XX/XXXX. I called US Bank and the first representative stated that my request was denied. I then spoke to a second senior rep who said they had mislabeled my original letter and they would be reopening and reconsidering the request.

Consumer Complaint: I had my us bank account recently closed. Due to a returned check and insufficient funds. Ive had numerous problems with my account all of last year 2021. I had many fraud attempts with changing my password or someone calling and having duplicate cards mailed out. I probably had to close my debit card in 2021 more than 10 times. They could not give me an answer as to how this continues to happen. My bank statements didnt add up. Whoever sent me these us bank statements had the balance wrong and couldnt give me further details. A lot of the times I would call and they wouldnt even try to verify the caller was the account holder. I noticed that everyday XXXX since XXXX all the way through XXXX my account was being withdrawn by XXXX dollars daily. Sometimes more than once a day. Im a single mom of XXXX kids I thought my money would be safe but nothing was done. And eventually my account became withdrawn and I never received a notification but one and it stated it was sent in XX/XX/XXXX I didnt receive it in the mail until two weeks later And by then the accounts were closed. I relied on those funds to pay my bills and provide food for My household. Its really surprising that they made me feel like I was invisible and they couldnt help me at all but close my accounts.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX I was approved for a trial period modification. The XXXX trial payments were XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX of XXXX. I was approved for the modification effective XX/XX/XXXX. I have made every payment on time since the start. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from US bank informing me that I potentially would qualify for the " pay for performance '' incentive. That being up to {$5000.00} reduction in principal if I stayed in good standing during the term of the loan. The letter also said that I could qualify for an additional {$5000.00} principal reduction after year XXXX ( which should be XX/XX/XXXX ) - again if I stayed in good standing. I've called US Bank several times to inquire why I haven't received any of the potential {$10000.00} in principal reduction. They have acknowledged that they sent the letter - however they continue to tell me that they don't know why I haven't received the incentive. So my question is simple- why have I not received the " pay for performance '' incentive. And, what do I have to do to receive it? If for some reason I don't qualify - please tell me why. Thank You

Consumer Complaint: US bank has not set up our escrow account correctly to make payments to our township ( we are in a PILOT scheme ). Last year we were in arrears on this money with the township and were charged over {$500.00} in interest payments by them ( which US bank paid after I had made a complaint. They assured me that the mistake had been rectified and payments would be made correctly from now on. Yesterday I received notification from the XXXX that our quarterly PILOT payment that should have been paid in XXXX has been missed. On checking my mortgage account the funds are available and are in my escrow account. This will mean we will again been changed interest by the XXXX and I am also concerned we are suffering reputational damage with them as we are seen as late payers. I have no confidence that going forward the lender will service our a count correctly.

Consumer Complaint: I received my fax refund check from the IRS and deposited it into my US Bank account promptly. US Bank placed an extended hold on the funds from my check. Several days after depositing the check into my account I decided to use the XXXX feature from inside my US Bank account mobile app. I tried to send my brother {$2000.00} as a wedding gift, as he was just married. US Bank prevented the transaction, after which US Bank disabled my access to my online banking and froze my account. I contacted the fraud department and confirmed the recent activity as legitimate, however the representative stated that the account would remain frozen as it is pending closure due to suspicious activity. Obviously since I just confirmed the activity as legitimate the activity is not suspicious, US Bank is attempting to without my money from me as it has placed an extended hold on the funds and froze the account, the funds will clear and post as they were intended to on XX/XX/2022, however I will not have access to them because the bank has taken the actions that it has. This has caused me extreme financial hardship as I do not have access to my money.

Consumer Complaint: Dear there, I opened an US bank checking account online in XX/XX/2022 and with opening promotion of {$500.00} if I made direct deposit of XXXX dollars within XXXX and login online account. I called US customer service several times in XXXX and they all told me I qualified the requirements and should receive the {$500.00} soon. Then I called again inXXXX XXXX and one representative told me I was not qualified because of where I live. I called in another time and was transferred many times to different departments and nobody can find the location restriction of the promotion. Later they gave me another reason that is the bank account is a A state farm and US bank alliance account but I applied with US bank and they accepted the promotion mode. I think US bank deceived customers and I am total qualified for the promotion and they just dont want to make the payment. Best regards, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I was sent a Visa credit card by Webster Bank, XXXX. that I had not applied for. It seemed like somebody had possibly opened the card in my name, so I called the number to have the account closed, but got a bad feeling when they immediately asked for my SSN, so I hung up with them. The card came in the same mail load as a mail-forwarding form, so it's possible it's a phishing scam made to look like a credit card scam? I've already reported to USPS that I did not in fact submit a mail forwarding request.
