Consumer Complaint: I suffered a loss due to COVID 19 national disaster, as result my loan was placed into forbearance. My mortgage company Suntrust now Truist Bank sent out documents for me to sign for the partial claim option. I sent the documents however the bank says they never received them and they reported my account as over 180 days late, severely impacting my credit score. I called the bank to investigate but they were unable to remove the negative remark because the loan has to go through the loss mitigation process all over again. I am complaining because I suffered through XXXX XXXX, now I am being punished for something out of my control with mailing system and to report my account as late and impact my credit score really hurts. Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Fees charged for closing account
Consumer Complaint: SunTrust Bank set up multiple accounts for me under the same login name. When I tried to close the accounts, the IT department of SunTrust bank explained the deficiencies in their banking platform that resulted in the difficulty of closing the accounts. First, the system should not have allowed the creation of more than one account with the same login. Secondly, because of the first oversight, when trying to close the account, certain fields in the database schema were unable to be extinguished fully, resulting in the accounts not being closed. To simplify, because of the bank 's oversights and antiquated IT infrastructure, my accounts were not closed when requested. This resulted in overdrafts and fees to the account. The manager of the branch assured me that they would take care of the fees since this was not my error. Unfortunately, SunTrust closed that branch ( XXXX XXXX in XXXX, VA ), and this manager was disappeared before fully fixing the problem. The account reached a negative balance by accruing fees of approximately {$290.00}, which fortunately did trigger closure of all the offending accounts. Then SunTrust referred that amount to their collection agency, for which they continue to hound me despite my multiple attempts to explain their error.

Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Transaction was not authorized
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX I came to find out that this company had breached my checking account & removed over {$2.00} in two separate transactions, all on XX/XX/XXXX. I immediately called the fraud department & reported this as a fraudulent charge. The report was taken & I was told to expect a follow up from my banking institution. I never received a follow up so I went back to my local branch so a representative could help me further. It was days later after my initial first call to report this illegal transaction, when my local branch representative was on the phone with a fraud specialist - thats when, & only then is when I was made aware that this same company had already breached my account in XXXX of this year .it was at this time that my representative from my branch asked the fraud department agent what was the necessary steps we needed to take. We where instructed to start a claim for the fraud charges that I discovered on XX/XX/XXXX & the fraud department agent said that she would fill out the case for the fraud charges that happened in XXXX, which she apparently did .The problem I have is that my banking institution has credited me for the fraud charges made on my account in XXXX, but is refusing to credit me for the fraud charges that happened on XXXX- all because of a technicality of the dates of when this fraudulent charges happened & when they where reported, never mind the FACT that my banking institution never once called or notified me of the fraudulent charges that happened in XXXX nor did they catch or report the fraud charges that happened in XX/XX/XXXX. I have been to my local branch on 3 separate times, totaling over 6 hours of wasted time & numerous hours on the phone trying to plead my case that this is FRAUD,- PLEASE HELP ME- this total disregard on my financial institutions part.

Issue: Problem caused by your funds being low
Subissue: Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Consumer Complaint: Back on XX/XX/XXXX, I had an overdraft fee charge of {$36.00} to my checking account. My understanding of the overdraft agreement with Suntrust bank was that if funds were insufficient Suntrust would simply decline payment, that I would only receive an overdraft charge to my account if I opted in to accept all charges to my account even if I was overdrawn. Truist bank purchased Suntrust bank and apparently their overdraft parameters are different from what I agreed to with Suntrust bank. Since XX/XX/XXXX, I have been charged with an abusive amount of overdraft fees ; 11 overdraft fees of {$36.00} totaling {$390.00} in less than 3 weeks ( attachment ) I called the customer service department at Truist explaining that I am unfamiliar with the overdraft policy of Truist, that I was still under the arrangement that I had agreed to with Suntrust. I asked for a courtesy refund of the fees that were triggered by the first overdraft on XX/XX/XXXX. The Truist representative declined.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, XXXX an individual took a loan using my private and personal information. Complainant did not become award of debt until XXXX, XXXX after debtor ( SunTrust Mortgage ) joined me to this debt. Numerous request have been made to this lender to provide the contract with Complainant name affixed. They have ignored all request. Between XXXX SunTrust Mortgage ruined my credit file by placing fraudulent and multiple judgements for damages, debts, threatening to take my personal possessions and purchasing my student loan information they obtained after using the Patriot Act to access my credit file. SunTrust still refused to provide proof of debts. In order to reinforce the fraudulent debts being claimed by SunTrust ; the XXXX County Trial Court Judge XXXX instructed the Deeds Office to change on documents without a hearing, proof or any Petition being filed. In XXXX, XXXX U.S. National Bank Association took over non-existent contract and began harassing and threatening to confiscate Complainants personal possessions and selling them to the highest bidder, filed additional Judgements aside from previously filed by SunTrust Mortgage. XXXX XXXX filed fraudulent criminal charges against Complainant ; the Trial Court Judge and XXXX XXXX became angry and refiled the fraudulent misdemeanor charges that had been dismissed and further tampered with the judicial process by reassigning the case to another DJ and violating Complainants Rights to a fair hearing under the Constitution. All centering around the previous debtor ( SunTrust ) and current debtor ( U.S. National Bank Association ), et neither of which has ever had a contract with Complainant. Complainant discovered that current debtor had filed a Preacipe and changed debtors name from SunTrust to U.S. National Bank Association without notification to the Complainant and violating the Statue of Limitations again on Damages ( 2yrs ) and Contracts ( 4yrs ). Debtor ( SunTrust ) knew their debt against Complainant was beyond the Statue of Limitations but sought the Trial Court Judges illegal help by enlarging the time on their debt against Complainant whos a non-borrower. Complainant then discovered numerous debt actions in an adjacent County which U.S. National Bank XXXX filed Preacipes to take over other debts without have valid contracts with these individuals that owe the debt. Over the last year the Trial Court Judge has recruited the local Government XXXX XXXX XXXX to file false actions without filing any formal complaint and in violation of Municipal Lien and Tax Act stating Complainant owed money and they were confiscating Complainant personal possessions because of an outstanding sewer and trash bill. Complainant sent the money owned as stated to the XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX refused to accept funds and further rejected future payments for Complainants trash and sewer quarterly bill. Phone contact with the XXXX Representative became hostile and the Representative blocked Complainants telephone number. Trial Court Judge instructed parties NOT to comply with any request issued from Complainant regarding the debt ( s ). The whole issue violates the Fair Credit Reporting and Debt Collection Act. These individuals have actively conspired together to ruin Complainants credit to prevent Complainant from obtaining a loan. ( Additional Documents to support claims are available )

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021 a friend of mine send me {$100.00} thru XXXX by accident, I called and asked him why he was sending me the money, he said it was not meant for me, it was meant for someone else, so I sent the {$100.00} back on the spot, they stood as pending on my banks side and posted the following day causing my account to be overdrafts and being charged a {$36.00} overdraft fee, I have requested the bank to refund the fee but they said no, and now they are charging me an extended fee, which is another {$36.00} dollar, so in total I have been charged {$72.00}, this happened with SunTrust bank, now Truist.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX is not the secure and safe money transfer service that they claim to be. Because of the fact that it is OWNED by the major banks including my bank ( Truist ), one is lead to believe that the service would come with the protections that your other banking services do. This is NOT the case. In fact, though not clearly stated anywhere in the XXXX term of service, there is a small clause that states that " transactions authorized by the sender are not protected '' and that the primary purpose of the program is to ONLY send between family and friends that you know. On Tuesday XX/XX/2021, I was looking for tickets to the XXXX XXXX in XXXX, GA. I live in XXXX and am a huge XXXX fan. I am part of a large email chain of fellow retired individuals who keep in touch. I sent an email asking if anyone knew or had extra tickets for sale and posted my phone number. An hour or so later I received a call from a XXXX XXXX who said he saw the email and had tickets. They were {$560.00} for two. I was to XXXX the funds to him which I did. Obviously I never received the tickets and when I called the bank to file a complaint I was told it would be investigated and there would be a " good chance '' I could recover my money. It has been 14 days and I have heard nothing, received no funds and have had no call or contact from Truist.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Fee problem
Consumer Complaint: Every since BBT merged with Suntrust I have been having problems with my account. I have a business and personal checking account. I have received excessive fees for no reason. I had a dispute from a merchant received a letter stating it was in my favor then the Bank reversed it overdrawing my account {$300.00} and didnt send me a letter until 2 weeks later but no explanation. I tried to get in touch with the appropriate department to see what was going on but no help. Then I started getting random fees on my business account which I hadnt used in a while. Then my personal checking just keep occurring fees also with no explanation. I was told my account could be closed but then the following week I was told my account couldnt because of the negative balance even though the cause is not to me. Usually I would get an email stating what it was that caused the overdraft but I never got anything. Then after I told the representative I would be filing a complaint I now have excessive fees applied to my account. I havent even used my account.
