Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Notification didn't disclose it was an attempt to collect a debt
Consumer Complaint: My electric service provider was XXXX XXXX for 25 years. Moved in XXXX, so closed my XXXX account in XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX would not allow me access to pay online, since my account was closed. Even though had been making online payments each month. XXXX advised me to go to an authorized payment center, and they only accept cash. Never used a payment center before. Went with cash and copy of my bill from XXXX, paid cash and got receipt. XX/XX/XXXX - 14 years later ... received letter from collection agency regarding the last payment to XXXX. Did chat sessions, to resolve, with XXXX today, and was told that my payment was applied to wrong account. How does the individual customer have control over what account they post payment too? All customer support at XXXX said was that this debt was sold, and I would have to talk to the " owners '' which is a collection agency.

Consumer Complaint: I have been served a notice by Transworld Systems, Inc that they are going to collect {$620.00} from me. They state on their letter they are working on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and the former creditor was XXXX XXXX. I have never done business with XXXX XXXX XXXX and am not certain what this is about, but due to the former creditor, I suspect it has to do with my time in XXXX, TX. In the fall of 2012, I worked for the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, TX and was assigned housing belonging to the school district. When I left the job in XX/XX/2012, I closed out the accounts associated with the housing, including the utilities. I did this in person in their offices. Later, I was notified by the utility that I owed them several months worth of electric bills for a period of time after I had left the premises and was no longer in the housing. I contacted them and let them know that this was not my debt and the problem was they had multiple addresses for the same houses and had mistakenly assigned this debt from another house to me. The assured me at the time they had cleared it up and I have not heard anything more about this issue until now. It is their responsibility of TSI and XXXX XXXX XXXX to verity the accuracy of any efforts to collect a debt before sending out letters such as this. I am notifying the company, in writing, that I dispute this debt and will also notify them that I have filed a formal complaint against them. I have attached a copy of the letter they sent to me.

Consumer Complaint: I am requesting the deletion of Transworld Systems, who is reporting for XXXX XXXX XXXX, from my XXXX Credit Report in the amount of {$4700.00}. I have disputed this account several times to no avail. They continue to report it as accurate even though I have sent proof of my identity, which included a copy of my social security card so they could compare the numbers and they still say it's accurate and it is NOT. Reporting inaccurate information to someone's credit report is a clear violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ).

Consumer Complaint: TransWorld Debt Collecter. I spoke with them found out the debt was from XXXX XXXX, I physically went to my local XXXX XXXX asked about the bill for date given to Trans World XX/XX/2018. XXXX informed me I had NO service done on that date. And if I had XXXX would have paid it with my maximum owed of {$16.00}. I then called XXXX who informed me I had NO bills submitted in or around that date and the sum of {$570.00} is very high for ANY lab test done on me and my maximum bill would only be {$16.00}. I informed TransWorld of this and the 3 reporting Bureaus of this, but they still REDUCED my score 57 points and let stand TransWorlds claim without a physical bill from XXXX the original biller.

Consumer Complaint: I previously submitted a complaint against TRANSWORLD systems in regards to a collection they continue to report on my credit. They wrote me telling me that they previously replied prior to my first complaint, but I never received the letter they " claim '' they mailed to me. Only after submitting my complaint to the CFPB did I get them to respond. They suddenly sent me a print out of the debt they claim I owe, but they had 30 days to reply to the dispute letter I wrote them, and they never sent me the requested information. Among the questions I asked them, which I have attached to this complaint are as follows : 1. Copy of assignment of purchase from the original creditor. 2. Every charge and what was purchased, ie ; fee, payments, credit, interests. 3. How they calculated what they claim I owe. 4. Full chain of assignment from charge off to present. 5. Proof that they own the debt with full clear title. 6. Proof that they were on the original contract. 7. Proof that they are licensed to collect in my state. Please be reminded of XXXX vs XXXX Law Firm - XXXX vs XXXX XXXX XXXX They never answered these questions, and did not DELETE this account from my credit being that they are not able to produce all of my requests which I have a right to obtain. In addition to that, I have attached evidence that they tried to put on XXXX XXXX that I had made a {$25.00} payment, and then suddenly removed the remark from there. They also lied saying that I was affected by a natural disaster and ; this too is untrue. I have never spoken with anyone at this collection agency to tell them this. They are the ones that put that remark on my credit reports falsely. This is clear defamation and violation of my rights. I am giving them a final opportunity before I proceed to file a formal complaint with the GA State Attorney and to hand all of this evidence to my lawyer to proceed with a lawsuit in which I will be demanding {$1000.00} per violation if this account is not removed from my credit reports within the next 30 days.

Consumer Complaint: I just received a bill from the XXXX XXXX XXXX represented by XXXX XXXX for the amount of {$23000.00}. Account # XXXX. It has been 13 years, this loan is from XXXX, and just now they send me this bill, and tell me that they are going to sued me in court. California Statue of Limitations is 4 years.Right? ( Cal.Civ.Proc.Code 312 et seq. ) I file Bankruptcy in XXXX, and this account from the XXXX XXXX was NOT in any of my credit report agency. Today I check my credit report, I don't have any debt account with the XXXX XXXX XXXX or XXXX XXXX. If I own {$23000.00} it should appear in all my credit report agencies, correct? Why they don't report this debt to the Credit Agencies? By doing this they avoid getting bankruptcy?

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, I was sued by XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) for two loans originally taken out with XXXX XXXX in XXXX. They were represented by XXXX XXXX XXXX of XXXX XXXX, now XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX. Through my attorney, we settled for a lower amount, and I entered into a payment arrangement of {$200.00} per month for 84 months, starting in late XXXX. My last two checks to XXXX were not deposited, and before I made a third, I called them on XX/XX/XXXX. They told me that my accounts with them had been closed in XXXX because they were no longer allowed to collect debt outside the state of Virginia, and that my accounts had reverted to XXXX. But they could not provide me written documentation of any of this, and said they could only tell me verbally. One year later, I have still not received any written notification from XXXX or XXXX XXXX XXXX, which they also mentioned on the phone.
