Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: I received a letter from XXXX XXXX stating that I owed an XXXX crypto exchange called XXXX XXXX {$26000.00}. To which I know nothing about, it's a fraudulent debt. I never borrowed any money from this place, nor did I make any agreements to pay them. I sent the collection agency a dispute letter on XX/XX/22. I requested that the debt collector verify and prove that I borrowed, owed and agreed to pay this amount to XXXX XXXX- which I never agreed to any of that, as I don't even know what the debt is. I filed a dispute with all XXXX credit bureaus. Today, XX/XX/22, I found out that XXXX is not able to remove it from my report because the collector lied and told them that the debt is valid. I was wrongly put in collections by XXXX XXXX in the first place. After sending my dispute letter to the collector, I expect all of this to be removed from my credit, and so far it hasn't happened.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: After my XXXX payment to XXXX XXXX, I set up a recurring payment. I selected the option to pay the minimum due plus whatever amount I specified. I specified 10 extra dollars. I had to do the setup twice because the first one was only set to pay for XXXX but I wanted it to recur until the loan was fully paid. I logged in to XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX after receiving an email that the monthly statement had been generated. I did this in order to make sure everything looked correct for the first auto payment. When I logged in, I saw the next payment amount was only {$10.00}. I called customer support to see why this looked like this and asked if I should change the amount. the customer service rep assured me that it would take out the minimum amount due plus {$10.00} on the due date of XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a call from UAS imploring me to pay my past due amount. I logged in and saw that I was only charged {$10.00} instead of the total due plus {$10.00}. Interest was also charged on XX/XX/XXXX and since it did not deduct my full payment, the interest was calculated at higher than it should have been. I called customer service again to 1 ) see why the payment didn't come out correctly when I was assured it would be on XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX ) if I could get some of the interest charges removed from my account since it was not my fault my payment wasn't deducted correctly. I spoke with XXXX who first told me they could not remove any interest despite what happened. She told me I should set up my automatic payment differently and manually type in the amount as opposed to the amount due plus 10. It was raised to an account specialist after my repeated request to remove the interest that was incorrectly calculated, though when I asked the name of the account specialist, I was told it would be sent to a general email. I have since paid the remaining balance and changed the auto payment, but I took screenshots and attached them to this complaint ( with my account number redacted ).

Issue: Communication tactics
Subissue: Frequent or repeated calls
Consumer Complaint: I'm getting repeated phone calls many times a month from this debt collector ( Transworld Systems Inc ) even after we have made payment arrangements to pay once a month. They always call even after I make a payment and continuously harrass us for more money. If I don't answer the phone I will get multiple voicemails. I want them to stop calling me altogether and allow me to pay the debt without being grilled and harrassed on when I'm making the next payment. They don't even wait a full 30 days from the last payment before they start calling for the next one.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 the full invoice amount of {$170.00} was sent to XXXX. This payment was the exact invoice amount per the fedex invoice received. On XX/XX/2022 a call was made to Transworld Systems INC stating that the debt had been paid. On XX/XX/2022 XXXX XXXX made a call to Transworld Systems Inc and was informed this was a debt fee and not the debt itself. This debt was disputed on the phone but no physical record of the result was sent to XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/2022 a new letter from Transworld Systems inc was sent to XXXX XXXX ( XXXX # XXXX ) stating that {$25.00} was due. No payment was ever made through Transworld Systems and this fee is excess to the original debt that was already settled. In addition, XXXX was called on XX/XX/2022 and they stated the account was fully paid already.

Subissue: Didn't receive notice of right to dispute
Consumer Complaint: I received a wage garnishment order ( XXXX ) from my employer dated XX/XX/2022 from XXXX. Prior to receiving this notification I had no previous contact or notification from XXXX. I contacted them to request a dispute several times due to the amount of interest and fees I the amount of {$7000.00} on a credit card bill with a balance of {$3500.00}. I think that is very excessive seeing what they most likely paid for the debt. I never received any information that would allow be to file a dispute. I have also requested a hardship form be sent to me several times which I have not received. There was never a judgment filed that I am aware of. My pay is now being garnished to the tune of over XXXX a month which is putting my other bills behind and I am also in jeopardy of losing my job because of this.
