Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Consumer Complaint: Name on account was wrong birthday and SSN were correct, but information was stolen and charged when I was not the one to do so. Company was called multiple times and sent me to collections for an amount that I did not owe, after calling and speaking to them multiple times, they told me they would close the account in XXXX of XXXX. The account went into review and they said it would be 60 days and that a letter would be mailed out stating the account on my credit report may not be mine and was under investigation so that I could get a loan I was needing. The letter has not made it here and it has now been over 20 days since I requested it. They stated they were not able to send a digital copy even though the XXXX call was the third one to the company. Company has still not contacted me, but has convinced the TransUnion credit bureau of the accuracy of the account, even with the internal investigation of their own still pending. XXXX Credit bureau was able to take the charge off status off of my report, but it seems there needs to be more information sent to TransUnion, although I can not provide it because the company has not sent me any information on it and the National Identity Theft Reporter is not enough for TransUnion, or XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: Im really disappoint in how Ive been treated on XXXX XXXX XXXX end throughout this process and this is affecting me and my familys life drastically I reached out on XX/XX/2024 CFPB complaint ID XXXX regarding a original contract for this debt signed by all parties and still havent received it you stated you put the account on hold until it is verified and it is still showing on my credit profile this is in clear violation under The Fair Credit Act, 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 ( 8 ) ( FDCPA ) According to 15 USC 1681 ( 5 ) it states this ( 5 ) Treatment of inaccurate or unverifiable information ( A ) In general If, after any reinvestigation under paragraph ( 1 ) of any information disputed by a consumer, an item of the information is found to be inaccurate or incomplete or can not be verified, the consumer reporting agency shall- ( i ) promptly delete that item of information from the file of the consumer, or modify that item of information, as appropriate, based on the results of the reinvestigation ; and i ) promptly notify the furnisher of that information that the information has been modified ( B ) Reporting information after notice and confirmation of errors A person shall not furnish information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if i ) the person has been notified by the consumer, at the address specified by the person for such notices, that specific information is inaccurate ; and ( ii ) the information is, in fact, inaccurate. and XXXX XXXX XXXX has done nothing righteous this is unfair and if they are doing this to me imagine who else they are doing this too.Can you please fix it.
