Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Information belongs to someone else
Consumer Complaint: I recently pulled a copy of my credit report and noticed accounts that I have no affiliation with or any knowledge of. I contacted the credit reporting agencies in XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX and advised my information was lost in XXXX, and now someone has been attempting to access lines of credit in my name. I requested verification of these accounts as they are affecting my ability to obtain credit. Furnishing accounts to my credit profile without my written consent or permission is in violation of 15 USC 1681B. I thoroughly investigated the accounts and credit inquiries and I have not authorized any of these transactions. These accounts have been placed on my account or linked to my name due to identity fraud. Furnishing accounts to my profile due to identity fraud is in violation of 15 USC 1681 c-2 I also requested all addresses linked to these fraudulent accounts be removed from my credit profile to prevent any future activity.
