Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: I had provided a written petition per TD Retail Card Services ( XXXX XXXX ) request to remove a charge from my account over 12 months ago. A phone was delivered to my house and I refused the package. I have all the tracking information to show it was refused. The company said they received my petition and would respond within 3 months. I have called multiple times and they keep telling me to wait for a response but they have violated federal law by responding within a specific time frame. I am still being charged every month for the product and it's causing me great inconvenience and they are doing nothing to fix it.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Problem accessing account
Consumer Complaint: I opened a Convenience Checking account ( Account No. XXXX ) with TD Bank on XX/XX/XXXX. I closed the account on XX/XX/XXXX. During the course of the account ownership, I received an account opening bonus of several hundred dollars. Despite the fact that the bonus counts as interest income for the purposes of filing federal taxes, TD Bank declined to timely deliver to me an INT-1099 form. ( Despite the fact that all other TD Bank mail has been delivered, including advertisements for opening a credit card with them dated after my account has been closed, I did not receive the INT-1099 form. ) And because my account has been closed, I can not access the form online. When I attempted to call them on XX/XX/XXXX, I was advised that the form had been mailed out, but that there must have been a problem with the mail. I was then advised, falsely, that I was not eligible to receive an INT-1099 because I hadn't incurred more than {$10.00} in interest. I was then finally advised that I needed to speak with a TD Bank branch to access closed account information. I then called the TD Bank branch at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, CT, at XXXX. I was again falsely advised that I was not eligible to receive an INT-1099 because " bonuses don't count as interest. '' ( Despite the fact that I have received INT-1099s for similar bonuses from other banks in the same market. ) Finally, I was advised that I would need to physically come into the bank to receive my form, if one could even be generated at all, because TD Bank lacks the ability to communicate it to me in any other form. My request is fairly simple : I want the tax information that TD Bank has generated for me, which I need to file my taxes and which TD Bank has presumably already provided the Internal Revenue Service. My problem is also straightforward : the procedure that TD Bank has developed for obtaining this information is complicated, inconvenient, and teeming with misrepresentations. In failing to make my tax information easily available to me, TD Bank is materially affecting my ability to file my taxes. If I miss the deadline to do so, or if I end up having to file incomplete information with the Internal Revenue Service, it will be TD Bank 's fault.

Consumer Complaint: I financed a used car purchase through TD Auto Finance on XX/XX/2016. I immediately enrolled in auto-pay and made all payments on time for the duration of the loan. With absolutely no notification the company unenrolled me in auto-pay without my permission, and then reported my account as 60 days late. I paid the final payment and closed the account immediately after I became aware of the issue. Despite this, the company reported the account to the credit bureaus, and it is still negatively affecting my credit score. I have reached out to TD Auto Finance about this multiple times and they have been totally unresponsive.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: I just recently opened a dispute with Nordstroms. I had opened an account awhile back. I was incarcerated in XXXX of XXXX until XXXX of XXXX. During the holiday season someone stole my identity. XXXX says i signed for an extra card holder to the account around XXXX or XXXX of XXXX. Which i did not do because once again i was incarcerated. They told me that since i signed to have another person on the account i was held liable for the debt and had to file a civil suit with that person. I just find that ludicrous, cause they are the ones who wrongfully approved a person on my account. Why should i be the one that had to go through civil suits and all of the likes? Anyhow i would appreciate your help in resolving this matter. I Am trying to buy a house soon and this is hindering the process. I'm attaching the police report i filed for identity theft and a letter from the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I disputed the same matter with XXXX XXXX and they resolved the issue immediately! So i don't understand why this company is making it so hard.

Consumer Complaint: I received suspicious bank statements from XXXX XXXX, XXXX, and TD Bank regarding an account. I do not recall opening accounts with any of these institutions. Some of these were sent to my old house address, which I have personally not lived in or requested mail to be sent there, in over 10 years. I do remember once in early 2021, I was applying for government loan repayment for working in an approved health center location, and I would receive suspicious calls requesting information in order to 'complete my application ''.
