Consumer Complaint: Within the last 2 months, Synchrony Bank closed my credit line due to inactivity. I contacted PayPal initially because that who I originally opened the account with ( PayPal Credit ). They have since turned their accounts over to Synchrony Bank. I contacted Synchrony yesterday and was initially told that it was a part of their terms and conditions that an account be closed due to inactivity. I have not used the account since 2019. I then requested a copy of the Terms & Conditions. I was advised that they were not available to be sent to me. The CS Rep, then said he would review them. When he returned to the call, he stated that the Terms & Conditions did not advise of an account closure due to inactivity. I also want to state that I have 2 other accounts with Synchrony Bank ( XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX ) that I rarely use that are still open. They are credit cards. Companies/ '' Banks '' should not be allowed to make up the rules as they go along. This has impacted my debt-to-income ratio, which, even though the credit line was not high, it did help. Especially in the process of purchasing a home.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 there was a charge on my Sam 's Mastercard for {$42.00}. I went on my Sam 's account and verified I didn't purchase anything on this date for that amount. So, I called Sam 's customer service and they stated it was a charge that " XXXX '' made ( my sister is my free 2nd membership person ). I explained to them that is my sister and she has no access to my account and how could this charge be on my credit card? They said we do not see any purchases under your account for Sam 's on that day for that amount. I explained yes I know that is why I am calling. So, once again I asked how could XXXX have made a purchase and it show up on my Credit card. They said they would have to have the back office check on and get back with me. Needless, to say I never heard back and I called back again on the XX/XX/2022. They directed me to contact Synchrony bank and file a dispute. I called Synchrony and filed a dispute. However, no one can explain to me how this transaction could even happen. My sister lives in Kentucky and I live in North Carolina she has no access to my credit card. My sister physically was in the Sam 's club in XXXX KY and made this purchase with her debit card. She sent me a copy of the receipt showing it was purchased with her debit card and cleared her bank. When i sent all paperwork to Synchrony I also requested a detailed explanation of how this transaction could have been put on my account when there is no access to my Mastercard. I have not heard back from them for explanation I have received a credit. However, there is a breach on their end for this transaction to even have happened. I have requested an investigation but have not heard back. This is very concerning because if I had not checked on my credit card Sam 's would have been paid twice once from my credit card and once from my sisters debit card. How this could even happen is concerning and needs to be addressed and investigated.

Consumer Complaint: I applied for a care Credit card last year to pay for a medical procedure.. I logged in and noticed that my available credit amount changed I now have the procedure scheduled but will have to cancel do to my limit changed from {$5500.00} to a little over {$800.00} I have never heard of a company doing that I feel that the company is awful considering its a medical credit card.. clearly I obtained the card for medical reasonI called and I was told they did a review of some sort ( didnt really care to explain much ) and decided to decrease my limit I asked to speak with a supervisor and he didnt seem to care at all as I explained my medical issue this company is horrible and will not recommend to anyone

Consumer Complaint: I bought an XXXX XXXX from XXXX online using my paypal credit account, in XX/XX/XXXX week XXXX. I recieved the unit and let them know that I was skeptical about the quality and useability of the XXXX. I reached out to XXXX and they said ok and agreed to refund the payment. to paypal. I went on paypal website and filed a dispute claim to get the charges off of the account. I submitted all of the required email traffic and paypal reverse the charges initially but a month later they refiled the charges saying the merchant had disputed the charges. I called paypal and they said I needed to submit another disagreement. So i refiled all the same email traffic, i have no confidence that these people are going to do what they say, just trying to hope I forget. I have the email from XXXX saying refund will be done in 5 to 7 days.

Consumer Complaint: Synchrony Bank continues to randomly shut off my credit card with no advance warning and no attempt to proactively contact me. They have my phone number and e-mail address but I never find out about their issues ( usually false fraud alerts ) until my card is randomly declined. Reference previous complaint XXXX. Today my card was declined for a recurring bill payment and I am now responsible for a {$35.00} NSF fee with my utility provider. Making matters worse, Synchrony won't even engage with me to find out why this happened, they claim I need to prove my identity and the only way to do that is by submitting a selfie and my photo ID to them. I attempted to do exactly this and they rejected my Photo ID because it is a United States Passport and not a State Issued Driver 's License. Why is a valid US Passport not sufficient ID to do business with an FDIC insured and Federally regulated bank? They now tell me I have to wait for some letter in the mail, that will contain further instructions, meanwhile I have to invest hours of my time to move other recurring payments off this card, so they aren't likewise declined, and I am out that time and the {$35.00} NSF fee. This card has been in good standing the entire time I've had it, never paid so much as a minute late, never not paid in full, but they continue to randomly block me from using it for no obvious explanation and in this instance are not even willing to help me get past the issue without resorting to snail mail, in XXXX, all because my US Passport isn't sufficient proof of my identity.

Consumer Complaint: I am the consumer, natural person, made with flesh and blood. 15 USC 1681 section 602 A - CLEARLY STATES I HAVE A RIGHT TO PRIVACY! Furthermore!! 15 USC 1666b - a creditor may not treat a payment ima credit account open under an open end consumer credit plan as late for any purpose - HENCEFORTH! EVERY SINGLE LATE PAYMENT ON MY CONSUMER CREDIT FILE MUST BE DELETED OR CHANGED TO PAID, Pays as Agreed Also you had no written authorization from I, the consumer natural person made with flesh and blood, to furnish account information on my behalf. - 15 USC 1681 section 604 A - clearly states that a consumer Reporting agency can not furnish an account without my written instructions Again XXXX XXXX HAS NEVER RECEIVED A HANDWRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE FROM ME STATING DIRECTIVES TO FURNISH ACCOUNT INFORMATION ON MY BEHALF! I am reclaiming the vital role over my consumer credit file. You and your inaccurate reporting have damaged my livelihood. 15 U.S. Code $ 1681s-2 - Responsibilities of furnishers of information to consumer reporting agencies ( a ) DUTY OF FURNISHES OF INFORMATION TO PROVIDE ACCURATE INFORMATION ( 1 ) PROHIBITION ( A ) Reporting information with actual knowledge of errors A person shall not furnish any information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if the person knows or has reasonable cause to believe that the information is inaccurate. Definitions : Duty : a moral or legal obligation ; a responsibility Accurate : correct in all details ; exact. Prohibition : a law or regulation forbidding something. 15 U.S. Code $ 1681s-2 states that you are a furnisher of information to a consumer reporting agency. You are prohibited by law to furnish inaccurate information. I demand you cease and desist the reporting of this incorrect and inaccurate information immediately pursuant to 15 U.S.C $ 1681s- 2 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ), which states " A person shall not furnish any information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if the person knows or has reasonable cause to believe that the information is inaccurate. '' YOU ARE HEREBY PUT ON NOTICE THAT YOU ARE REPORTING INCORRECT AND INACCURATE INFORMATION. 15 U.S.C 1681s-2 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( B ). Responsibilities of furnishers of information to consumer reporting agencies ( B ) Reporting information after notice and confirmation of errors A person shall not furnish information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if- ( i ) the person has been notified by the consumer, at the address specified by the person for such notices, that specific information is inaccurate; and ( ii ) the information is, in fact, inaccurate. In conclusion, I have shown you and you have been put on notice that you are reporting inaccurate information. The information is, in fact, inaccurate. The continued reporting of this information is in clear violation of the law pursuant to 15 USC 1681s-2 of your responsibilities as a furnisher of information. Furthermore, pursuant to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX ( Haw. XXXX ) providing a contract ( electronically signed by someone with a different name ) is not debt validation. You have caused me and my family severe harm due to your negligence and inaccurate reporting period this is a final opportunity to XXXX and DELETE this erroneous, inaccurate, account from my consumer report. You have 10 calendar days to CEASE AND DESIST AND DELETE THIS ACCOUNT FROM MY CONSUMER REPORTS. Failure to do so will result in me pursuing legal remedies under 15USC 1692k, {$1000.00} per each violation you have incurred. Pursuant to 15 USC 1681a ( 2 ) - definitions and rules of construction. States the following ( 2 ) Exclusions. Except as provided in paragraph ( 3 ), the term consumer report does not include -- ( A ) subject to section 1681s-3 of this title, any -- ( i ) report containing information solely as to transactions or experiences between the consumer and the person making the report ; ( There are numerous account listed with account activity balances and even payment history as if the fraud that is being perpetuated is legitmate. ( ii ) communication of that information among persons related by common ownership or affiliated by corporate control ; or ( iii ) communication of other information among persons related by common ownership or affiliated by corporate control, if it is clearly and conspicuously disclosed to the consumer that the information may be communicated among such persons and the consumer is given the opportunity, before the time that the information is initially communicated, to direct that such information not be communicated among such persons ; ( B ) any authorization or approval of a specific extension of credit directly or indirectly by the issuer of a credit card or similar device ; ( C ) any report in which a person who has been requested by a third party to make a specific extension of credit directly or indirectly to a consumer conveys his or her decision with respect to such request, if the third party advises the consumer of the name and address of the person to whom the request was made, and such person makes the disclosures to the consumer required under section 1681m of this title ; or Pursuant to 15 USC 1691a ( b - f ) - States the following : ( b ) The term applicant means any person who applies to a creditor directly for an extension, renewal, or continuation of credit, or applies to a creditor indirectly by use of an existing credit plan for an amount exceeding a previously established credit limit. ( c ) The term Bureau means the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection. ( d ) The term credit means the right granted by a creditor to a debtor to defer payment of debt or to incur debts and defer its payment or to purchase property or services and defer payment therefor. ( e ) The term creditor means any person who regularly extends, renews, or continues credit ; any person who regularly arranges for the extension, renewal, or continuation of credit ; or any assignee of an original creditor who participates in the decision to extend, renew, or continue credit. ( f ) The term person means a natural person, a corporation, government or governmental subdivision or agency, trust, estate, partnership, cooperative, or association. Also pursuant to FCRA 623 ( a ) ( 5 ) - if the credit bureau can not VALIDATE the information WITH THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR. They must remove the unverified account from said consumer credit file. In accordance with the Fair credit reporting Act 611 ( a ) ( 7 ) - this is not a request for the reinvestigation if the previous dispute ( s ). I am actually attempting to validate this debt. I want to know the method of verification used. Please answer the following questions pertaining to the accounts mentioned above. 1. Who is the original creditor? 2. The creditors address and telephone number 3. The persons name that they ( credit bureau ) verified the dispute with 4. The documentation used to verify the dispute If you are unable to provide this information in a timely manner the account must be deleted. Since XXXX has deleted this information already I would highly advise that XXXX and XXXX do the same since the files that I am requesting were not submitted in a timely fashion with my previous and final dispute with XXXX. lastly the fact that this account does not appear on the XXXX consumer credit file does mean that just off that one fact the other two credit reporting agencies are reporting false and or fraudulent information and keeping me from the very credit that gives this county life. thank you.

Consumer Complaint: Account stating collection with account status of derogatory with date open on XX/XX/XXXX by XXXX XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX by experian both are stating a balance of {$440.00} is reporting incorrect. I have tried contacting the bureaus and the creditor to get the situation straightened out and results to the investigation continue to come back and correct. Date last active has been reported by XXXX XXXX as XX/XX/XXXX with experian while experian reports as XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX XXXX is recording a comment on credit report saying account information disputed by consumer meets FCRA requirements. I strongly disagree as there is no possible way that account can be both on collection while derogatory at the same time and having date last active in accurate. There is no way that both bureaus can be right if information is coming from the same furniture data account is being re-aged pushing back the date it should fall off. Second account just different account number with XXXX month difference on date open and slightly different balance reporting incorrectly. Account is stating collection with derogatory And date open nest XX/XX/XXXX by XXXX XXXX while XXXX report date open as XX/XX/XXXX both with a balance of {$360.00} is reporting incorrectly. Recording day less active as of XX/XX/XXXX to buy XXXX XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX by experian. XXXX XXXX is recording a comment saying account information disputed by consumer meets FCRA I strongly because theres no way that account can be collection interrogatory at the same time and recording an accurate date of last active and date account being open account is being reached pushing back the date it should fall off I do not recall having either of these two accounts especially being just a month apart and to be honest I believe this account is a duplicate Both accounts are reporting exactly the same information with the only difference of account balance and account number being different.
