Consumer Complaint: When signing up with the card they never tell you or gave me terms saying this is this or that. I never even received my card on the mail I was using a copy I was able to download online to use it. I never got statement in the mail and now that I look at the statements I see they even have my address wrong.So a year later with care credit I think I'm almost done paying my card because I make high payments like $ XXXX but always over my min payment. I go into the account to log in and I see I'm being charged XXXX instead of the XXXX dollars I was currently at going down in back at where I started it I would of known this I would of never signed up with this Care Credit company!

Consumer Complaint: I have been dealing with synchrony bank for a year. During a home loan a sewing and more card showed up on credit. I was going to be denied for mortgage so I had to pay it and report it fraudulent. They have taken a lot of the money off due to fees but still owe me XXXX and will not give it back. They keep telling me different stories and finally told me no. It's started as a card called XXXX something and that's the original number that's on the following page. It is XXXX. They sent me another card and account number after I reported it fraudulent. Not sure why but this is the other account number XXXX. I had positive balance of XXXX then they took fees out of that abd got it down to XXXX. I want all money I paid out as well as compensation for all my troubles. I've lost XXXX in work worried and communicating back and forth over MY MONEY. I've talked with XXXX lawyers and they assured me they could get money back plus some but this would be faster. They also have in XXXX on my statement that they sent me a check its posted as " customer settlement '' in XXXX for XXXX but never sent it out. They are trying to keep my money.

They proceed to close my account without any balance of negatives just to not refund me. this is the answer I receive Dear XXXX XXXX : On behalf of Synchrony Bank, I am responding to your concerns raised through the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ). I appreciate you bringing this matter to my attention. I sincerely regret any dissatisfaction this matter may have caused you. Your concerns are important to us, and we strive to serve our customers in a timely and satisfactory manner. A credit balance refund check of {$1000.00} was mailed to you on XX/XX/2022, I regard to your PayPalTM Extras Mastercard. Due to you not receiving the refund check sent on XX/XX/2022, a stop payment was done and a new check issued on XX/XX/2022. The check was cashed on XX/XX/2022. A copy of the cashed check has been enclosed for your review. Compliance is very important to Synchrony Bank. Per the terms of your account agreements, we may close your accounts at any time. Nothing here was true. XXXX XX/XX/XXXX after an enormous amount of call a synchrony associate told me he's going to send me another check. Then HE PROCEED TO CHARGE ME ANOTHER XXXX $ and sent me the check for this, completely ignoring my original charge in XXXX. I receive a refund check for XXXX while my original charge in XXXX was for XXXX. They charge me 2 two times for 2 refund check and sent only one. the same associate asked me to add another address to my account because they were not able to send me a check initially. I added my OWN BUSINESS ADDRESS.

Consumer Complaint: SYNCHRONY Bank corporation has completed a consumer credit transaction with myself and refuses to comply with the laws that are in place for consumers. I have attempted to resolve this matter respectfully and in good faith with an end result denied my rights as a consumer. It is also brought to my attention there has been a credit balance on my account yet has not been given to me within the 6 months time frame since the beginning of my account. This has been deemed security fraud based on the security exchange act of 1934. There also is a CURRENT credit balance however SYNCHRONY BANK is asking for payments using debt notes. 15 U.S. Code 1666d - Treatment of credit balances Whenever a credit balance in excess of {$1.00} is created in connection with a consumer credit transaction through ( 1 ) transmittal of funds to a creditor in excess of the total balance due on an account, ( 2 ) rebates of unearned finance charges or insurance premiums, or ( 3 ) amounts otherwise owed to or held for the benefit of an obligor, the creditor shall ( A ) credit the amount of the credit balance to the consumers account ; ( B ) refund any part of the amount of the remaining credit balance, upon request of the consumer ; and ( C ) make a good faith effort to refund to the consumer by cash, check, or money order any part of the amount of the credit balance remaining in the account for more than six months, except that no further action is required in any case in which the consumers current location is not known by the creditor and can not be traced through the consumers last known address or telephone number. a ) In general Payments received from an obligor under an open end consumer credit plan by the creditor shall be posted promptly to the obligors account as specified in regulations of the Bureau. Such regulations shall prevent a finance charge from being imposed on any obligor if the creditor has received the obligors payment in readily identifiable form, by XXXX XXXX on the date on which such payment is due, in the amount, manner, and location indicated by the creditor to avoid the imposition thereof. 15 U.S. Code 1666c - Prompt and fair crediting of payments ( ( Pub. L. 90321, title I, 164 ) Term : finance charge Information required by this subchapter shall be disclosed clearly and conspicuously, in accordance with regulations of the Bureau. The terms annual percentage rate and finance charge shall be disclosed more conspicuously than other terms, data, or information provided in connection with a transaction, except information relating to the identify of the creditor. Except as provided in subsection ( c ), regulations of the Bureau need not require that disclosures pursuant to this subchapter be made in the order set forth in this subchapter and, except as otherwise provided, may permit the use of terminology different from that employed in this subchapter if it conveys substantially the same meaning. a ) In general Payments received from an obligor under an open end consumer credit plan by the creditor shall be posted promptly to the obligors account as specified in regulations of the Bureau. ( b ) Application of payments ( 1 ) In general Upon receipt of a payment from a cardholder, the card issuer shall apply amounts in excess of the minimum payment amount first to the card balance bearing the highest rate of interest, and then to each successive balance bearing the next highest rate of interest, until the payment is exhausted. 15 U.S. Code 1666i - Assertion by cardholder against card issuer of claims and defenses arising out of credit card transaction ; prerequisites ; limitation on amount of claims or defenses a ) Claims and defenses assertible Subject to the limitation contained in subsection ( b ), a card issuer who has issued a credit card to a cardholder pursuant to an open end consumer credit plan shall be subject to all claims ( other than tort claims ) and defenses arising out of any transaction in which the credit card is used as a method of payment or extension of credit if ( 1 ) the obligor has made a good faith attempt to obtain satisfactory resolution of a disagreement or problem relative to the transaction from the person honoring the credit card ; ( 2 ) the amount of the initial transaction exceeds {$50.00} ; and ( 3 ) the place where the initial transaction occurred was in the same State as the mailing address previously provided by the cardholder or was within 100 miles from such address, except that the limitations set forth in clauses ( 2 ) and ( 3 ) with respect to an obligors right to assert claims and defenses against a card issuer shall not be applicable to any transaction in which the person honoring the credit card ( A ) is the same person as the card issuer, ( B ) is controlled by the card issuer, ( C ) is under direct or indirect common control with the card issuer, ( D ) is a franchised dealer in the card issuers products or services, or ( E ) has obtained the order for such transaction through a mail solicitation made by or participated in by the card issuer in which the cardholder is solicited to enter into such transaction by using the credit card issued by the card issuer.

I always call to pay that non promotional first, so I will not get charged with the interest and then pay the minimum for the promotional amount and now they remove half of my promotional amount and charge me interest by law in California they supposed to get the non-promotional payment first and then the rest goes to the promotional and they dont do that so they could charge me interest. I called like 3 or 4 times to the credit card and they havent fix it and theyre charging me interest.

Consumer Complaint: A fraudulent invoice was sent to me through paypal.com. This triggered an official email from paypal to be delivered to me which included a seller 's note which was the scammer 's number. After I was unable to dispute the charge through paypal app and paypal.com I called the number on the seller 's note which began the process of identity theft. Believing I was on the phone with customer service, I followed their instructions which was to first download the XXXX XXXX and then gave them remote access to my cellphone. They told me someone had opened credit cards on my account and that I would need to start the process of opening up a credit card to cancel all fraudulent activity. A card was then opened through the Venmo mobile app ( card issued by Synchrony Bank ) and the scammer pretended to cancel fraudulent charges by sending money to themselves. This was about an hour on the phone, then the scammer instructed me to send money through other XXXX XXXX XXXX. We signed up for an account on XXXX to begin the scam cancellation of wire transfers and we also sent money through XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX on the chase mobile app. By this time I had already given the scammers my full information including my name, address, account numbers, card numbers and social security since all that was necessary in issuing the credit card. {$500.00} total was sent through XXXX XXXX pay on the chase mobile app which directly came from my account. {$740.00} total was sent through Venmo for the Synchrony Bank card.
