Consumer Complaint: This is probably the worst experience Ive ever had with a banking institution, and I highly highly recommend that people do not open a credit card with XXXX XXXX bank . On XX/XX/XXXX I made a payment to that card and several hours later saw that it appeared that that money was taken off my account, but I wanted to make sure. So I called synchrony banking services, and the representative confirmed that they received the payment, and the money was taken off my card, and not to worry about it then Sunday or Monday I got an email from my primary banking institution, letting me know that my account was overdrafted. When I looked into this more I noticed that the overdrafted charge was from XXXX XXXX rightly so I was extremely upset and I contacted them they were very unhelpful, and they did say that the person I spoke to would be reprimanded and spoken to about this situation. I then called back today to confirm this information and to get additional so that I understood. And todays experience is easily the worst Ive ever had. The lady said that there was no way XXXX of them could look up when I made that XXXX who I spoke with, and that when I open the car, there was a disclosure about the payment process, and when I spoke to the original person, they also made a disclaimer. When I asked them to verify that this person didnt make that describe her to me they said they were unable to. When I mentioned that the person before, so they would be able to eat. She said that is not true we are unable to. And I said the time of the payment I did have enough money, and the women said well thats not our fault, you should manage your money, better

Consumer Complaint: I am a victim of identity theft and now somehow a have judgement against my social security number. I have no idea what this loan is for and have never been served paper work regarding this. Somehow this bank opened up an account without my permission, I never had any type of medical procedure with them. I believe the performed a procedure on someone else and then used my credit illegally to finance it. In my opinion they took advantage of me years ago as a young person, of XXXX background and somehow opened up a line of credit illegally. XXXX XXXX or XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX who were involved here are all crooks and should not be allowed to open accounts under people 's names illegally.

Consumer Complaint: I went to use my Sam 's Club Synchrony XXXX XXXX Mastercard and it declined. I called Synchrony and they closed my card without warning or explanation. They said it was due to a score drop. My score increased XXXX points since opening the card! I have a XXXX XXXX XXXX! XXXX and behold Synchrony closed : -Sams Club Mastercard -PayPal Mastercard -Lowes credit card -Care credit card -Synchrony Mastercard. They closed XXXX of my credit cards overnight with XXXX warning. All cards NEVER carried a balance, NEVER a dime in interest and always paid in full and on time. I am a XXXX customer. They closed XXXX cards at the tune of {$60000.00} in available credit. I am filing my complaint against Synchrony due to their shady business practices. I am appalled and devastated. I worked very very hard to get my credit to where it is and these crooks are destroying that. XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: When I applied for credit using my social security number, this company approved me for XXXX. I have not been late on my account and this company lowered my credit limit to XXXX. I was not provided with an adverse letter or any documentation of this taking place on my account. I feel that I was discriminated against as a consumer. Considering that it my social security was used in opening this account, which created a trust relationship, I am to be granted the limit that was giving to me when my social security account was accessed.

Consumer Complaint: I opened a Value City Synchrony Credit Card in XXXX of 2020 and always paid on time and had {$0.00} balance with {$1000.00} credit available at the time they closed my account. The reason they closed my account was due to, too many open accounts and having a recent mortgage. I didnt know they close your account for buying a house which also approves my credit worthiness. When Synchrony closed my account it caused my credit score to drop due to the amount of my overall credit decreasing. I would like to synchrony to fix this issue and compensate me for decreasing my credit score.

Consumer Complaint: A credit card was fraudulently opened in my name in XX/XX/XXXX with Synchrony Bank. I did not notice the account on my credit report until the account was in default with a balance of approximately {$5000.00} in charges and fees. In XXXX XXXX or XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted the bank and they quickly acknowledged that the account was fraudulent and stopped reporting the account to the credit bureaus under my name/ssn in XX/XX/XXXX. In XXXX of XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) acquired the debt. At some point in the fall of XXXX, I received correspondence from XXXX regarding this debt. I emailed the contact on the letter, informing them that the debt was not mine and was a case of identity theft. When I continued to receive correspondence from XXXX, in XX/XX/XXXX I sent them a letter via US mail stating clearly that the debt was not mine. On XX/XX/XXXX, in response to my letter, XXXX sent me a collection of statements for the account that show my name as the account holder, but which list an address in another state from the one in which I live and is for a property that I had previously owned but had not lived in for more that 8 years and had sold 7 years prior to the fraudulent account being opened. Included in that correspondence from XXXX was a blank affidavit of fraud that XXXX asked that I complete and return, should the account be fraudulent. I completed and signed the affidavit and emailed it back to them on XX/XX/XXXX. I received no response for the email I sent with the affidavit. Despite the fact that I have clearly communicated to XXXX both via mail and email that the debt was opened fraudulently in my name, to include providing them with a signed affidavit stating such, on XX/XX/XXXX I received another letter from XXXX in which they are now threatening legal action to collect he debt. Consumer Complaint: In XXXX I opened a XXXX XXXX card, there was a promotion at the time of opening the card and that was receive XXXX % off your first purchase. When I ordered the watch the rep charged me the full amount of the price of the XXXX. I have XXXX over the last XXXX plus months to both XXXX XXXX and synchrony bank to have this resolved. Over the course of the time XXXX XXXX had said the credit had been issued but the bank keeps telling me they havent received anything from them to warrant the {$100.00} credit. I have a case number from XXXX XXXX that I have supplied to the bank and they are still refusing to issue the credit against my card. The case # XXXX. All the information is contained in that case number to justify issuing credit against my card. To date this still has not been fixed, it shouldnt take 5 months to resolve this issue and I need some help in getting this resolved please.

Consumer Complaint: Only AFTER filing CFPB complaint number XXXX in XXXX of XXXX was I able to get Synchrony Bank to accept my XXXX which was sent to them on XXXX separate occasions. Only after contact with the CFPB did Synchrony Bank accept the XXXX and close the account ( which was in the name of my father and is now in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX NC ) .. On XX/XX/XXXX I received an invoice yet again for a " Membership Fee '' for my fathers account. I called XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX and entered my fathers account number XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX and through an automated response I was told that there " is a {$0.00} balance and the account is closed. '' On XX/XX/XXXX I was sent a new bill from Synchrony Bank with the same account number with {$100.00} XXXX XXXX and {$30.00} past due. This is outrageous and Synchrony Bank was dishonest in their previous response to my original CPFB complaint. They stated that they contacted me and I was unavailable. That is not accurate : They left me a voicemail message which I promptly returned the next business day and they never tried to contact me again. Now they have RE-OPENED THE ACCOUNT, and are sending me invoices, which makes no sense if the account was closed and there was a {$0.00} balance on the XXXX of XXXX.
