Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I made a payment on my Amazon card. On XX/XX/XXXX I paid the balance in full prior to the XX/XX/XXXX statement date. On XX/XX/XXXX Synchrony incorrectly, negligently applied a {$7.00} Interest charge to my account. According to my records it was paid off to XXXX because it was. Adding insult to injury I contracted Covid the end of XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX 2 times ) I am only advising of that because I wasnt even in the position to monitor this. So I couldnt have stopped what synchrony was about to do to me. They reported me 30 days late to all credit bureaus, they decreased my available credit line. This has majorly and unfairly damaged my credit. I spoke with 3 reps at synchrony the first one immediately removed the now {$9.00} interest fee. I then spoke to a rep who was wonderful she apologized profusely and acknowledged the incorrect reporting, but an apology can not fix this fast enough for me to be able to trade my car in. Synchronys reps, although acknowledging the mistake, can not resolve it today nor can they advise a time frame. I have a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I am an American with a XXXX. I am XXXX XXXX XXXX on SSD I have limited income and I have worked so hard to keep my credit up, to build it so I could buy a new car and synchrony single handedly ruined this. Although this is being escalated within the bank there is no resolution for repair. I have had help handling this, but what about other XXXX people who dont have help who wouldnt have realized this, this shouldnt have happened to me and I am submitting this in hopes I can even help this from happening to one more person. They charged interest that wasnt owed, they reported me 30 days late and possibly 60 ( they arent sure if that will hit yet ) and they lowered my available credit affecting my credit card usage. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Consumer Complaint: The account in question is a joint account opened in XXXX by me and my ex-wife. We are now divorced with a signed divorce agreement signed by both parties and filed on XX/XX/XXXX. The court reviewed and judge signed agreement that filed it on XX/XX/XXXX. In that agreement, in the debts and liabilities section, it clearly states that any joint accounts should not be used if they have not been closed. Also, that no charges can be made on the accounts, no late payments, nothing that would affect the other person 's credit, and that all liability/debts for the other person on joint accounts is waived. This agreement was violated by my ex-wife. I was instructed that I was not a user on the account anymore at the time of the agreement. I also/still have no access to the account or any credit cards for that account. She is the primary user, and I am a secondary user. There were two charges made by her on XX/XX/XXXX ( {$1600.00} ) and XX/XX/XXXX ( {$450.00} ). After that, there were 4 consecutive missed payments starting in XX/XX/XXXX which caused the account to be delinquent and also close with a balance of {$2300.00}. Because I am a secondary user on the account, my credit has been impacted with the 4 missed payments and a delinquent account. I am not liable for this account or debt as of XX/XX/XXXX. I have contacted the company in attempt to remove myself from the account but was instructed I can not since the account has been closed and move to the collections department. I also asked how I could be removed from having accountability or to retroactively apply the correction to the account to remove this from my credit reports. Next, I filed disputes with the 3 credit bureaus. The reports came back with nothing being changed because the company stated to the bureau that the account was opened in XXXX with me as a user. They never asked or offered a method for me to provide the divorce agreement that states I am no longer liable from before these purchases were made without my knowledge/consent and that my ex-wife is in violation of the court ordered agreement.

Consumer Complaint: Synchrony bank owes me {$270.00} in refunds on accrued interest payments for mishandling the allocation of my monthly payments towards promotional " no interest '' if PIF purchases. Initially I was told via phone that my automatic payments were going to my oldest promotional purchases first. Later I was told over the phone that my monthly automatic payments were not being paid towards my oldest promotional purchases as I had called and requested every month since automatic payments began, but instead distributed across all of my promotional purchases in random amounts. This was an intentional act on Synchronys part in order to cause my promotional purchases to default so they could collect interest. At no point should any of my promotions have gone into default. Each one was set to be paid in full before the promotions expiration date. Synchrony was willfully negligent in distributing my payments. I called Synchrony again to try and resolve the issue on XX/XX/2023. They were uncooperative and said they had no record of phone calls. A supervisor refused to share phone records and told me to subpoena them if I wanted them. I have my cell phone records that show phone calls to their XXXX phone number that last anywhere from 15-30 minutes. These records show outgoing calls I made every month where I request allocation of my payments to older promotions so they would not default. During these calls I was assured each time my payment was being distributed as requested and my promotions were in good standing with no chance of defaulting. I have paid my remaining balance to Synchrony bank in full minus the {$270.00} in accrued interest they are requesting. Synchrony broke their agreement to distribute my payments to the promotions I requested and is obligated to remove any interest accrued on this account.

Consumer Complaint: I recently refinanced our mortgage, which was utilized to pay off outstanding credit debt. XXXX XXXX sent a check to Synchrony Bank ( Care Credit ) in the amount of {$1100.00} on XX/XX/2022 to pay off the balance for our Care Credit account. Synchrony Bank has consistently insisted that they never received a payment, despite being given both a copy of the cancelled check as well as a copy of the bank statement from XXXX XXXX 's bank account showing that the check in that amount had been cashed. We opened a dispute three separate times ( most recently in XX/XX/2022 ) to have the payment reflected and Synchrony continues to indicate it's not been paid. I've continued to pay the minimum payment to avoid having the account go into collections and report to my credit report ( over {$200.00} extra at this point ). Synchrony refuses to credit the payment to our account, so we're essentially double paying at this point.

Consumer Complaint: I began to have issues with my account when I purchased items online and then returned them. I made a purchase from XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2022 for {$170.00} and made purchase from on XXXX XXXX XXXX for {$120.00}. I returned XXXX items and was issued a credit of {$120.00} from XXXX. However, the credit was supposedly applied to XXXX for {$120.00} took the balance {$2.00}, Now after months {$53.00} balance that has reappeared. There was another credit is from XXXX on XXXX XXXX for {$230.00} however, the items were billed as XXXX different transaction instead of XXXX {$76.00}, {$97.00} and {$65.00}. The items for {$97.00} was fully returned and a additional {$20.00} was issued for sale adjustment. I ask to explain were the XXXX was applied, no one could explain. So the credit of {$110.00} was issue towards the balance of {$230.00} purchase. I ask if this credit was applied correctly the said it was correct and the rep filled out a dispute. I have spoken to several reps who state that credit are being issue just to other things on your bill. I asking for all the XXXX, XXXX and XXXX 's item to be researched. Also, ask that all credit that are issue are issue to the out balance from the merchant that issue it. They keep adding back items by miscellaneous adjustment and it is not adding up correctly. I really dont understand how I and getting rebilled for {$53.00} after contesting the credit that should have been a XXXX XXXX credit.
