Consumer Complaint: I am a Sam 's Club member. I had always use my XXXX XXXX credit card to make payments. I was asked if I wanted to open a Sam 's Club credit card. I was told I would get more benefits. I asked, if there was a monthly card fee ~ I was told " no ''. So, I said, I would apply. I received the card and I have never used it. This card is with Synchrony Bank. I received a statement from Synchrony Bank ~ stating, a balance of {$53.00} and a minimum payment due was {$29.00}. The {$53.00} is the renewal fee for my Sam 's Club membership. *** HERE 'S THE PROBLEM *** I did not authorize this payment!! I state now and for the record this is a fraudulent charge. I bring this to your attention because, IT IS SYNCHRONY BANK WHO CREATED THESE CHARGES. If you need any more information from me, I will be more than willing to comply.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX Synchrony Bank took out the full balance due on my card. I had set this up to be a monthly payment of minimum due. I now have bank fees because i didnt have {$7600.00} to cover the balance on the card they took out of my bank account. I contacted synchrony bank and they told me to contact my bank and have them deny the transaction and they assured me my account was now for SURE set up to be monthly minimum amount due, and my late fee would be waived when i am able to make the payment after my bank clears everything. I contacted synchrony bank 2 days later to see how long i need to wait because it still showed my balance of being XXXX due, and i didnt want this to hurt my credit for being late. Fast forward to XX/XX/23 1 WEEK AFTER THIS HAPPENED, they now took out the full balance AGAIN!!! of {$7600.00} which has now caused my bank account to overdraft from insuffiencient funds. I contacted synchrony bank and they told me the same thing. I feel like this is some sort of scam of taking the full amount out. I know for sure the same thing happened to someone else we know who also used this promotional 0 % interest for sleep number bed and was approved for the same card. The SAME EXACT thing happened to them. Synchrony bank said they arent liable to pay bank fees because it isnt their fault. How is this not their fault??? They took out a full amount not once but TWICE in 1 week!!!

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Card opened as result of identity theft or fraud
Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX I was getting a free online credit check from XXXX XXXX. This was a free service given to me by XXXX XXXX. When i received the check it stated that I had a Synchrony/Amazon Credit card with an outstanding balance of XXXX. I contacted Synchrony Bank/Amazon and through several phone calls they told me that the account was opened via email in XXXX of XXXX. I told them I had no memory of doing so, and afterwards was positive I didn't open the account. They stated that the account was opened XXXX eve... I then checked my email and realized that my email received notifications that an account was open and that at several times in XXXX there were tardy payments and that payments were made to this card. The card was not used ( I believe until XXXX and XXXX of XXXX. The credit card utilized an email ( Yahoo.com ) that was used infrequently, and received many bogus spam notifications. My main email is a gmail.com account. I learned when I contacted Synchrony to tell them of the fraudulent card they used my cellphone number and address to start sending me late notice notifications and harassing phone calls. I have three Bank accounts with credit notifications and since I notified Synchrony bank they have had all the banks drop my credit ratings. Up to this time I didn't know it was possible to open an account via email. I have an Amazon/XXXX account in which I have had for several years. It is apparent whomever opened up the Synchrony/Amazon account opened up a different account with this credit card. I also opened up a Police Investigation with my local police department. It has been understandably slow with them, I feel this is not a priority with them. Several attempts have been made by myself to request where the items were sent to, how Synchrony bank received the payments but they are refusing to release that information. I also opened a XXXX Investigation and they advised Synchrony bank was to vacate the erroneous information but they haven't.

Consumer Complaint: Multiple payments processed, cleared, and verified by both sending and receiving financial institutions but PAYPAL MASTERCARD VIA SYNCHRONY BANK is penalizing me by holding the payments for a predefined length of time solely based on being a new customer. This is regardless of the fact that they have received and fully verified the funds, yet paypal supervisor XXXX refused to lift the hold because their policies allow them to hold my payment. Currently I have a credit limit of $ XXXX, with a balance of {$290.00} after my {$700.00} payment on XXXX and {$150.00} on XXXX, but paypal is refusing to clear my available spending limit beyond {$7.00} despite my payments.
