Consumer Complaint: Dear Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, I am writing to file a complaint against Synchrony Bank for unfairly lowering my credit limit from {$4000.00} to {$3200.00} without sufficient reason. I am requesting your assistance in investigating this matter and resolving it as soon as possible. My complaint stems from my recent purchase of a sectional from Rooms to Go, which was financed through Synchrony Bank. At the time of purchase, I was not made aware that the financing was through an actual credit card. It was advertised as a store credit through rooms to go and not synchrony bank that was giving me financing. I thought this was like a arrangement where I pay the store back on monthly payments. So this was false advertising and misleading information provided. This immediately had a negative impact on my credit score because of the high usage. Recently, I received a letter from Synchrony Bank stating that they had lowered my credit limit based on a credit scoring system that predicted my creditworthiness. The letter further explained that their decision was due to a number of reasons, including not enough balance paid down over time on real estate secured loans, too many inquiries, balances on bankcards that are too high compared with credit limits, and too many accounts recently opened. However, these reasons are not a true reflection of my creditworthiness or my payment history with Synchrony Bank. I have always made payments on time with auto-pay, and I have never missed a payment. Therefore, I am requesting that Synchrony Bank raises my credit limit to {$10000.00} to correct the negative impact this has caused on my credit score. Additionally, based on the letter I received, Synchrony Bank ran my credit without my permission, and I request that this inquiry be removed immediately. Lastly my name is spelled XXXX XXXX not XXXX XXXX. This shows there lack of attention to detail too. I appreciate your attention to this matter, and I am hoping for a prompt resolution. Sincerely,

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 and order was placed for an in-stock item for direct to store shipping at XXXX XXXX XXXX. This item never shipped. Several attempts to contact the vendor via email and phone went unanswered. A fraud complaint was filed with the card servicer Synchrony bank. The day after the fraud complaint was filed, XXXXXXXX XXXX updated the status of the order to cancelled and marked the item as shipped. It may or may not have actually shipped at this time. But based on the lack of communication and how long it had been since the order was placed. This appear to just be corrective action to protect their business. The order, despite being cancelled, still has not been refunded and appear on my statement. The charge has not been cleared from the account. The bank will not explain why nor have I received any correspondence regarding this submission. I have made several attempts to get answers from Synchrony using their online customer support. Support agents have provided no valuable information and have required more of my time than should be necessary to resolve an obvious vendor error. The charge remains on my account 30 days after making the purchase.

Consumer Complaint: Paypal credit card ( synchrony bank ) reported balances to credit bureaus twice in one month, within a two week period. Balance was reported on XXXX XXXX XXXX for approximately {$56.00} and again on XX/XX/, for approximately {$270.00}. This has affected my credit score. I called when I opened card and was told balances would report when my statement ended on the XXXX of each month, then it reported on the second day of XXXX. I called back and was told they report all balances on the XXXX of each month. Then my balance was reported again on XX/XX/XXXX causing my scores to drop even more because I was under the impression that I would have until XX/XX/XXXX to pay cc balance down. The company has not been very helpful or able to clarify which date is reporting date.

Consumer Complaint: I bought furniture from Rooms To Go by using credit card of Synchrony Bank, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, FL XXXX. The furniture shipped by Rooms to Go was damaged and defective when delivered to to me at my home address around XXXX 2022. I informed Rooms to Go about it. They send an inspector to assess the damage. Inspector informed us on the day of inspection that it is damaged and has manufacturing defects. Therefore it should be replaced by Rooms to Go. After that Rooms to Go did nothing to replace or repair it even after trying many many times. Then I filed a credit dispute with Synchrony bank in XXXX 2022 time frame. They rejected my dispute without asking Rooms to Go to submit their inspection report and without considering the picture evidence of damage sent to Synchrony bank during the credit dispute. I also shared with them the email communication with Rooms to Go. Which they totally ignored during the dispute process and also failed to mention in their final decision in favour of their client Rooms to Go. Please note that I am unable to use the furniture during this time and its occupying the master bedroom. It looks like they favoured their client Rooms to Go even though I provided them all the evidence of damage and defects in the furniture. I also shared the evidence communication with Rooms to Go to resolve the issue. Which they totally ignored. I am looking for your immediate help to resolve this issue as soon as possible. I will share the pictures of the furniture damage and defects in this compliant.
