Consumer Complaint: I have XXXX credit cards through Synchrony bank. On each of them I have had the limit significantly decreased as I paid down the amount owed. One I never carried a balance on. After doing some searching I see this is common practice for MANY of their customers. From what I am reading this not only affects their and mine credit score but will also increase the percentage rate that can be charged because of the lower credit score. They also state that I have no verifiable mortgage. Well that is because I own my home outright. They can not base credit worthiness off of a home loan being public record or not. This is basically a credit company driving down customers scores so they can charge a higher interest rate on the lower balances. This needs to be investigated and stopped. It is basically a shake down.

Consumer Complaint: My XXXX account was compromised and a transaction was made to someone I don't recognize. I disputed the transaction with Synchrony who then opened a fraud case, closed my credit card, and issued a new one. Since then they did not issue any sort of temporary credit for the charge. I called them and they stated they would issue temporary credit and waive any fees and interest charges, but instead added more charges under the label " Convenience Check '' ( 3 times ) for the amount of the fraudulent charge and have not refunded any of the fees or interest. Now all of these extra charges applied by Synchrony are gathering interest daily because they are flagged as cash advances but this should be a credit and not a debit to my account.

Consumer Complaint: Misleading statements from Synchrony Bank for Amazon.com Store Card. I called Synchrony Bank customer service to find out why I had accrued an interest charge when I had paid the FULL " New Statement Balance '' ( Regular ) amount AND included the monthly amount due for my 2 promotional purchases ( one for 12 months and one for 6 months ). I spoke to a customer service agent who FINALLY explained CLEARLY what amount was actually due. In addition to paying the full " New Statement Balance '' ( Regular ) and payments for my promotional purchases in the " Account Balance Summary '' ( on page 2 ), you must ALSO pay the " Total Minimum Payment Due '' that is at the top of the statement ( page 1 ). This is exceptionally misleading and I believe purposely so. I incorrectly assumed the total min payment was INCLUDED with in the new statement balance. I am also assuming this information is somewhere in the fine print, but is not stated plainly in the statement every month as it should be.

Consumer Complaint: 2 months ago my care Credit card put a notice saying my promotional rate was ending. I called twice to ask what that meant since I signed up with a non-adjustable flat rate. The person I spoke with both times avoided my questions regarding my original rate and kept insisting that the promotional rate would expire on XX/XX/XXXX. Never answered my question, and they charged me over XXXX dollars in interest on a XXXX balance. Normally the interest was approx XXXX to XXXX dollars. I worked for XXXX so I understand rates on credit cards and this is Faud!

Consumer Complaint: Payment was due on XX/XX/2023 with auto-pay enabled PayPal Credit claimed to attempt draft and claims to have been rejected PayPal Credit fined me {$30.00} for failed payment - posted on XX/XX/XXXX On XX/XX/2023, I called PayPal Credit XXXX Synchrony Bank ) to inquire and they simply said it was rejected by my bank I called my bank - XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX routing # XXXX ) - and they had no record of any indication of an attempted draft from any of my accounts for the auto-pay amount I called PayPal Credit back to report this and was told " remove and re-add your auto payment account to see if that fixes it '' and offered to waive the {$30.00} fine ( a 30 % penalty! ) Although it is financially corrected, there resolution does not satisfy my concern that their systems are automatically fining for what I believe to be a problem on their end. They did not investigate the failure and essentially said " this happens sometimes '' and that cost me quite a bit of time to figure out how correct.
