Issue: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers
Subissue: Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2023 - I went to Lowes to buy fencing. I see advertising for their store card saying 20 % off your first order on your Lowes credit card. So I decide to go home so that I can unfreeze my credit in order to apply for the card. I apply for the card and all it says is 20 % off your order. I am immediately approved for the card. I put all the items into my cart and check out using the discount code emailed to me. The email is my temporary card details and says in big font 20 % off. Nowhere on the email does it say there is a limit on the discount of {$100.00}. The limit of {$100.00} was not made expressly clear anywhere throughout the process. Had I have known there was a limit of {$100.00} I would never have opened the card or used it to pay for the items. I would have used one of my other credit cards that has actual benefits and points. This now means I opened up a credit card I did not want, was not advantageous and has falsely advertised the benefits meaning I missed out on really benefits of a card I already own. XXXX - I called Lowes credit to complain about this on receipt of my items and seeing that I was charged the full price less {$100.00}. They told me that the only thing I could do is drive to the store that the items were ordered from ( quite far away ) and see if they could possibly refund me the whole amount so that I could pay on another preferred card. I call Lowes customer service and they said it was unlikely that this is actually possible as the order has been already fulfilled.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: I called the credit card fraud dept when I saw several charges on my statement that were not my purchases. I went over each item on the page and told him which ones were indeed mine. And I agreed to pay for all of them right then using a different credit card. We agreed to the amount that was mine and made the transaction. Furthermore, we cancelled my account. He offered to send me a new card which I declined, and told him in fact, I would be cutting up this card which had been used fraudulently, and throwing it out. That was in XXXX. Since that time, I have received a bill from this company every month and letters from the bank making me aware that MY account is past due! How do I still have an account when I settled it with a final payment in XXXX and closed it. None of the charges listed on the invoice belong to me. And further, how does one use an account that has been closed? For the record, the credit card was a XXXX XXXX from Synchrony bank.

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: I have made all my payments on time and even made a very big payment on my account last week. I got an email yesterday that my account was closed because of no real estate or revolving accounts on my credit. This card is the last one that I have gotten. I had all of the revolving accounts that they say are on my credit when my card with Synchrony was approved in XXXX. I have never missed a payment or been late. I can't even get into the account now to prove my payment history but I can pull bank statements. I tried calling them and the supervisor laughed when I told her about it being closed and said that they can close accounts if they want. I told her it is really sad that you close accounts in good standing. The account was opened in XX/XX/XXXX and payments were as follows : XX/XX/XXXX {$100.00}, XXXX {$100.00}, XXXX {$120.00}, XXXX {$140.00}, XX/XX/XXXX {$140.00}, XXXX {$140.00}, and XX/XX/XXXX {$500.00}. The card was closed and cancelled by Synchrony on XX/XX/XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: This is my complaint about SYNCB/PPC. I accept that my data is being abused and detailed as wrong. In my credit report from XX/XX/2023, I discovered some slanderous things that I didn't know about. I found late installments which never occurred and accounts with mistaken data, like installment history, status, balances, and date of last action. As per 15 U.S.C. Area 602 and 15 U.S.C. Segment 604 A Part 2, I have the right to protection and a buyer revealing office can't outfit a record without my composed directions.

Consumer Complaint: I have a synchrony care credit card, max charge is {$1000.00}. I used the card at vet offices from XXXX to XXXX. My total was around {$900.00} spent. I havent used the card since then. Synchrony does automatic 6 months 0 % interest for any charges over {$190.00} However you can not designate money to go to those 6 month promotional charges until after making a payment, calling the company and designating that money to a specific balance. Which roughly takes 35-45 mins. Not a huge deal, as I thought Id only pay interest on whatever is remaining. However they back date to the original purchase amount and charge you interest on the entire purchase amount which is extremely misleading. After 8 months of payments, my balance has only increase and now my card is maxed out. Despite paying on time, I tried to resolve this with synchrony as I didnt get the option to opt out of the 6 months and was only now made aware of how to pay down a certain promotional balance, which takes 30-45 mins of time to complete. Which is completely unacceptable. The fact that I have made {$600.00} in payments, and my balance has only increased.
