Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: From time to time, there is a dispute for one reason or another. Most are cleared up without problems. Sam 's Club/ Synchony Bank contacted me last XXXX, stating questionable transactions which appeared to be fraud. At that time they cancelled my card and sent out a new one. I was told that when my statement came in, check each transaction and advise them of anything I believed was Fraud. .... I did so and have followed up on these charges with Sam 's over & over. They not only refuse to credit my account, but continue to add interest and late fees. All Credit Bureaus have been notified of my imagined delinquency. ... I am attaching letters and the most recent statement.

Consumer Complaint: My grandmother died last year. She left me inheritance money in a Synchrony Bank IRA account. Speaking with the bank, they offered to move the money into an IRA account in my name so the funds would be held in my name. Synchrony bank has made it incredibly hard to do so, and have yet to make that transfer. I submitted the proper information soon after my grandmother died, was sent the last amount of paperwork in XXXX. I sent the two forms back to the bank as requested, and heard nothing from them. I finally called and was told the paperwork was accepted in late XXXX, and the representative had no answer as to why nothing had happened. I was told to wait 7-10 business days to see the funds transfer to my account. That was in the beginning of XXXX. I called on Friday the XXXX and was told there was a snafu with my paperwork and a message would be sent to upper management to have it settled. I was not given the chance to talk to upper management and be given an explanation for their hindrance to this whole process. I am sick of dealing with this bank for almost a year now, trying to have the money that was legally left to me, accessible to me.

Consumer Complaint: We seen that I have two huge promotional balances expiring on the same day next month on our Care Credit Card. This was from a large veterinary bill, both unfortunately in XXXX of last year. To have something like this expire all in one day is a lot. We reached out to the bank, today to see what our options are.. I have had been dealing with a very high min payment since this charge originally hit. We were perplexed. Where had all this been going? We understand we have a balance of over {$4500.00} on this card, currently, but how could it be that two of our highest charges were never, ever touched?! It was explained to us that it had been going to our XXXX percent balance from XXXX. All of it! How can that be fair or even possible? So, its like telling someone that they are meeting a min payment of {$200.00} plus for one solid year and they had absolutely no chance in paying off the two large charges from last XXXX? We don't recall agreeing to something like that, nor had we any knowledge that this was going to happen. I thought there were laws put into place now that money had to be allocated to debt that was going to expire first under promotional balances? The rep offered to reallocate some of the payments to one of the promotions bringing it down to {$920.00}. A little bit better. We had just paid our high min payment of {$200.00} two days ago! So, where is that going? Still no help to bring this down? We were going to try our best to try to pay one off by XX/XX/XXXX but what about the other one of {$2200.00}? What about that? He said he can only give us a grace on that until the end of XXXX XXXX is that going to help on over XXXX? I can't pay XXXX in another month. So, this bank is basically telling me I have to pay off my entire bill the end of XXXX or I am looking at almost XXXX in interest? That's what this is. We told them we still need this escalated and emailed customer service as well but we are not expecting to hear a favorable outcome.

Consumer Complaint: 3 months in a row I was charged {$260.00} in interest on a {$3000.00} credit card, called the first time I was charged and was told the interest fee was a one time fee because the special promotion ended and I would not be charged again, 2 month in a row I was charged, I called them again today, XXXX and asked why I was charged two more times, she said because the special promotion ended again for another purchase and unless I paid it in full, {$3000.00} I would be charged a monthly interest of {$260.00}, which has to be illegal. I would rather file bankruptcy, it makes way more sense then to make a over {$100.00} payment that dies absolutely nothing because my interest charge is double the minimum payment due, I would never agree to this, it has to be a scam or illegal interest rate charged, Ill report this to anyone who will listen, This is a PayPal credit card through synchrony bank, ridiculous, I have 4 other credit cards with synchrony and none of them charge interest like that

This company then sold my account to XXXX XXXX XXXX in attempt to get payment on a debt that was previously paid and closed. I am now being sued for XXXX when my initial credit limit was XXXX. XXXX XXXX has not sent me any validation of debt or statements from synchrony with my purchases or signatures. This is so wrong!

Consumer Complaint: I needed to purchase a {$6000.00} camera for work. Amazon advertised 0 % apr financing with their Amazon store card for 12 months upon approval. So instead of paying XXXX up front I would make 12 monthly payments of {$500.00}. This happened today XX/XX/23. I applied for the Amazon store card, was approved, and then I proceeded to purchase the camera by clicking the 12 equal monthly payment financing option. The order went through and I got confirmation. I called Amazon to find out when I needed to make my first monthly payment. They told me the order had been cancelled because the purchase was too large. This didnt make any sense because the only reason I signed up for the card in the first place is because THEY OFFERED ME FINANCING ON THE ITEM I NEEDED! So now my credit score has taken a hit, I have a card coming that I dont need, and they SCAMMED ME WITH A FAKE PROMOTIONAL OFFER! If I wasnt allowed to make that large of a purchase on the Amazon card then they shouldnt have been allowed to advertise that financing promotion on that specific item. Its false advertising and they escalated my complaint but told me not to get my hopes up. It isnt likely that the decision to cancel my order will be reversed.

Consumer Complaint: I used my Synchrony Credit Card to buy tires at Pep Boys, but instead of receiving new tires, Pep Boys installed used tires of XXXX different brands. This resulted in multiple visits to have the tires replaced, but they only added air instead of putting new tires. I disputed the charges for the tires multiple times, but unfortunately, I wasn't refunded the money I initially paid to Synchrony credit card after the dispute was completed. As a consequence, Synchrony Bank decided to close my credit card account.
