Consumer Complaint: I signed up for a PayPal credit account understanding that when I made purchases over an intro offer when those expired I would pay XXXX interest. Those expired and I was charged too much interest for the last two months. On a XXXX balance XXXX should be the monthly interest charge. I was charged XXXX the first month and XXXX the following month once the XXXX kicked in. I tried to contact them and the agent couldnt do math with me and told me it was completely normal for my minimum payment to be below the interest charged amount. My minimum payment is XXXX so this does not cover these charges and the problem will become exponential.

Consumer Complaint: This account with Synchrony Bank was opened when I bought a mattress at Mattress Firm and they offered me no interest financing. I have had a myriad of issues with Synchrony. Their operations and systems are chaotic. The latest problem I had was when they randomly decided to cancel my autopay causing me to miss a payment. Their method of informing me was to send an uninformative email on XX/XX/2023 to me to click a link to read a message for me. The link did not work when I attempted to click and read the message. I attempted various times. Today, I logged into my sychrony account and discovered that my payment was overdue. I went back to the uninformative email of XX/XX/XXXX and was able to click through and open the message. The message stated that my autopayment amount was being changed to {$0.00}. My balance is still {$1800.00}. There is no reason listed for this change and it was not a change that I authorized or attempted to perform. Now my account is overdue. Earlier problems with Synchrony include that they did not send me information in the mail when my account was setup and the first payment ( or perhaps multiple payments ) were missed because I didn't know the account had been opened yet. I learned about it after receiving a past due statement. Resolving this was difficult and I spent hours on the phone with off shore customer service agents that could not help and were not trained to address the issue and did not know English sufficiently well to comprehend the problem. I was finally able getting it fixed after one helpful customer service agent finally escalated and I spoke to an American agent who got it resolved. Synchrony appears to either act in bad faith intentionally hoping to cause customers to miss payments so that they can charge exorbitant interest rates citing breaches of contract OR their systems and operations are poorly setup to actually manage their accounts.
