Issue: Applying for a mortgage or refinancing an existing mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: My mother passed away, and I have taken over her mortgage payments. Since XX/XX/2019, I have assumed the debt owed on our family home. I have sent the mortgage company official documents proving I am the executor of the estate from my lawyer. I have also provided them with an updated 911 address, since the address they have on file is no longer valid after the re-zoning. They have not offered any assistance on refinancing in my name. Only stating that I am listed on the account, but this is unofficial/not valid for refinancing. They have not updated the 911 address, despite documentation from our XXXXocal county office. I would like to refinance the mortgage with another lender, but this company has made this extremely difficult!

Consumer Complaint: Dear Sir or Madam Under XXXX Requests for Information, I am hereby writing to you to request specific itemized recorded information about the accounting and servicing of the mortgage and of my need for understanding and clarification of various charges, transactions, actions, payments, analyses and records related to the servicing of my loan of attorney fees as it relates to XXXX & XXXX. Please do not rely on previous servicers or originators assurances or indemnity agreements and refuse to conduct a full audit and investigation of my account of monies disbursed or provide justifiable information or itemized breakdown of the services performed. I want to ensure that the fees charged were for actual services performed or rendered. As such, please treat this letter as a Request for Information under 12 CFR Part 1024 ( Regulation X ) 1024.36. Consumer Complaint: I was served with foreclosure papers the week of XX/XX/XXXX. I was currently in a loan modification and they denied it after I'd been paying 6 months through the website. They say it was denied due to missing paperwork. Now, they've locked me out my account online. They won't accept payment unless I pay them {$20000.00} to reinstate my mortgage. I don't know what to do. I've asked for copies of the documents they've claimed to have mailed but I'm currently waiting 7 to 10 business days to get them. They haven't set a foreclosure sale date. I can provide the documents they need if they send them to me. I don't want to lose my home. I feel like I'm in a foreclosure scam with this company. They expedited foreclosure on the account in less than 30 days while receiving payments for the last 6 months during trial modification.

Consumer Complaint: Pandemic and received forbearance for a year and was offered no retention options to keep my home because Select Portfolio didnt tell me until the end of my forbearance that my private lender wasnt offering options. Im in Chapter XXXX now and at mediation SPS says again my lender will not offer any options to modify. So its either lump sum payment or pay thru my bankruptcy plan. I think the Cares Act should of included some relief that the private lenders should have at the end the the Cares Act forbearance. Yes I can stay in my home thru my chapter XXXX plan but my payments are so high its going to be hard. SPS shouldnt of told me I had no option at the end I asked thru out the forbearance and they always replied there will be options but couldnt tell me which one when they did know.

Consumer Complaint: We requested a Covid-19 forbearance XXXX of 2020 and additional extensions as we had a loss of income due to the pandemic. We have reached the 18 month mark and are ready to resume our mortgage payments. We contacted Select Portfolio Services to advise that we were ready to continue making our mortgage payments and after a series of questions we were advised we needed to send in a full borrower assistance package that includes but is not limited to : two years of tax returns, pay stubs, hardship letter, utility bills, etc. According to the online resources for XXXX XXXX, their website information states a full package is not needed in order to get a deferral, modification etc. unless we are disqualified from said programs for a specific reason. We have asked SPS at least on 3 or 4 different occasions if we do not qualify for the Covid-19 relief options for a specific reason and we have not been given one. The only thing we have been told is that we are REQUIRED to send in a full and complete package due to investor requirements even on Covid-19 options. We do not want to be at risk of losing our home so we are going to send in a full package, however, we would like this issue to be investigated due to the conflicting information on the XXXX XXXX website and what we are being told by the servicing company.
