Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Funds not handled or disbursed as instructed
Consumer Complaint: At around XXXX on XX/XX/2023, I attempted to deposit {$800.00} in cash ( XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX ) into my bank account using the drive through ATM located at PNC Bank XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX ). I used my debit card and the ATM took my {$800.00} and said it was counting the deposit. After waiting for a few minutes, the ATM screen read that the transaction was cancelled and gave me back my card. It however did *not* give me back the {$800.00} cash, nor a deposit receipt. I called my bank immediately who looked into it and reported that they have no record of any ATM cash deposit because the transaction was canceled before there was a connection made. They told me there was nothing they could do and that I should contact the PNC Bank where I made the deposit. I was still at the location, so I then went inside the PNC Bank and met with XXXX XXXX, a manager at the bank. He took my information and told me that my money may be found when the ATM is reconciled. However, upon following up with him, he said that there is nothing they can do. I also called the PNC Bank customer service who said there was nothing they could do. So, in effect, the PNC Bank ATM took {$800.00} from me and didn't give it back.

Consumer Complaint: PNC has refused to reverse payments made from my account for services that were NEVER received. I am, at this point, DEMANDING the transactions be reversed and the funds be returned to me. However, since PNC enjoys colluding with scammers and approving of their methods, I have also now involved my family members at the White House and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, informing PNC has dragged this out going on 6 months and are refusing to refund money that was used to pay for services that were NEVER received. See attached article regarding XXXX founders, XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX, committing fraud via their app ( over {$1.00} XXXX dollars worth ). PNC has until XX/XX/2023 to credit the {$2100.00} back to my account, or everything will go dark sporadically until the money I was scammed out of has ALL been returned to my account. THIS IS GOING ON MONTHS 7-8 CHASING PNC TO REVERSE THE TRANSACTIONS ON MY ACCOUNT THAT WERE A PART OF A SCAM.

Consumer Complaint: My mortgage was bought by PNC Mortgage from my previous company. After receiving a tax abatement, I sent materials to PNC Mortgage to have my escrow adjusted and alter my payments. I had, when visiting a branch to get my account set up, did a physical form for automatic payments ( in XX/XX/2022 ). Now in XXXX of 2022, I called to cancel that automatic payment since I an unable to cancel online what was submitted by physical form & fax. I was promised on two separate occasions that this old automatic payment was cancelled and I was instructed how to go about setting up a new one that is available on their Online Banking. It turns out that the rep only paused, not cancelled my automatic payment, without my knowledge. So I had set up a new payment. This means that PNC Mortgage has deducted TWO payments from my checking account and can not provide immediate relief of that second payment, opting to mail a check. As you can imagine, a mortgage is my single largest bill, so it's not like I can float that money until they snail mail me a check. However, had I not paid, I would receive fees. PNC Mortgage refuses to issue any sort of compensation or reimbursement for the issue and has not provided an adequate way to send the payment back immediately. AVOID PNC MORTGAGE AT ALL COSTS.

Consumer Complaint: I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX regarding information reporting on my consumer report due to identity theft. I was denied relationships with financial institutions and currently have one account frozen due to derogatory information reporting on my account resulting from me being a victim of identity theft. I disputed this information followed with a police report requesting that the information be blocked. I also filed a separate dispute with the CFPB ( Reference # XXXX ) clearly stating the account number to the account that needed to be blocked ( XXXX Checking Account # XXXX ). I had been harassed by a debt collection agency named XXXX so I specifically listed the account at XXXX that needed to be blocked as there is an ongoing investigation! XXXX XXXX XXXX sent a letter stating they received my dispute and had placed a block on the XXXX account due to identity theft. They didnt reference back to the XXXX account that I listed on my dispute CFPB complaint. Instead XXXX XXXX XXXX blocked XXXX account that list checking account fraud but not all of them! I recently tried to open a bank account and was denied again due to XXXX XXXX XXXX not being fair in their practices! Also XXXX XXXX XXXX is reporting several accounts from PNC bank with different status reasons. The accounts are listed below : PNC Savings Account # XXXX Closed Purged PNC account # XXXX it doesnt state what type of account this is but status lists Closed-purged PNC account # XXXX XXXX for cause-purged This inaccurate information is critically damaging my future relationships with banking institutions and needs to be removed immediately. I owe PNC no debt and any outstanding balances has been satisfied per my XXXX consumer report.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2022, I went to PNC in XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) to add my son to my account. We were assisted by XXXX XXXX and she had to call for help multiple times on how to execute the request. We were told signature cards only had XXXX lines and had to specially request XXXX from corporate with XXXX lines to add him. The card arrived at the branch and was faxed to a branch near my son for his signature and faxed back. During this process the XXXX branch noticed that there were errors - the names were incorrect. The XXXX branch told the XXXX branch was told they would need to fix the account names. XXXX stated she could not fix without her XXXX and were told to cross out names and it would be fixed later. Next, the accounts of my sister were crossed with mine sent to the wrong person at the wrong address. The bank closed my sisters account in error on which I was a signer and her retirement check could not be deposited. A check came in for payment and overdrew the account. The bank then deducted funds from my account overdrawing it to pay for the OD caused by the banks error. The bank sent threatening letters to us for {$10.00}. We are elderly and have struggled to get them to fix this and understand their processes. This was not our fault but we have been threatened and penalized.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I received an email from a person claiming to be Professor XXXX XXXX from XXXX in regards to an open XXXX XXXX XXXX role. I had previously shown interest in a XXXX XXXX XXXX role at XXXX XXXX XXXX as I was studying there at the time. I expressed my interest for being considered for the role by sending my resume to which they replied positively to and told me I was the most ideal candidate for the role and hired me. First thing they asked me to do was to buy a laptop and printer as they said I would require both for the role and proceeded to send me a check of {$2100.00} to buy the new equipment. The check was later discovered to be fake but when I scanned the check to deposit the money into my PNC bank account, PNC deposited the {$2100.00} to my account the very next day. After PNC deposited the {$2100.00} from the fake check in my account the scamster then asked me to send {$1100.00} and {$920.00} payments on XXXX to a person he said he had appointed as his assistant who would help me get the new equipment ( laptop and printer ). I sent him the money as to that person and later that evening discovered that I had gotten scammed for {$2000.00} after which PNC also proceeded to removed the credited {$2100.00} from my account leaving me with a negative account balance as I had less than {$150.00} in my bank account at that time. My complaint is that PNC Bank should not have deposited the amount from the fake check in my account in the first place for me to proceed with the next steps.

Consumer Complaint: I deposited two checks in the amount of {$4900.00} and {$1000.00}. Initially I was told it would take XXXX to 5 days to clear. The funds were available the very next day. I used {$1000.00} of it to make a payment and verified with the customer service agent that the funds were available. A couple of hours later the bank put a hold on the funds and told me XXXX to 5 days. I went into the branch near my house in XXXX, Ohio on XXXX XXXX. They called the XXXX XXXX branch in XXXX, Ohio and were told the funds would be available in 5 days. After 5 days the funds were not still not available. I called customer service who in turn called the XXXX XXXX branch. The XXXX extended the hold to 10 days. I'm sorry but it does not take 10 days to verify a check from the United States. They can easily verify the account and the funds. At this point I regard this as some kind of discrimination. I will be closing my pnc account for good due to this decision by the XXXX XXXX bank manager. I've been banking with them since they took over National city and I am very dissatisfied with them. The fact you now have to go over heels half acre to cash a check is utterly disgusting. They wouldn't stop an unverified XXXX XXXX transaction from a skimmer scam but want to monkey wrench my valid deposits
