Consumer Complaint: PNC Bank treated me so unfair. To start with, I was a victim of a fake employment scam that was even on XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The 3 scammers sent me two checks and I deposited the checks. In the meantime they told me to XXXX them payments to purchase equipment and office supplies. The checks were fake and some days later they were not paid. I was left with a negative balance on my checking account of almost {$7000.00}. PNC took my Social Security pay twice as well as my remaining savings account balance. I was left then with a balance of approximately {$2500.00}. PNC would not refund me the money I was scammed out of because they were XXXX payments sent and XXXX XXXX gift card. I negotiated with them on the collections and they agreed to deceased the amount owed to {$1600.00}. I paid PNC all of the balance due in 3 payments of {$540.00} each month for 3 months until paid. I was scammed and it was not my fault or doing and I did pay PNC. I believe PNC Bank flagged me as a result of this and messed up my account with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX closed my account for no justified reason. I am seeking to have my account with XXXX XXXX XXXX unflagged and restored as well as any other creditors or banking institutions.

Consumer Complaint: On or about XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX Bank started the transfer of their loans to PNC Bank, with PNC Bank taking over on XXXX XXXX. We had an auto loan with BBVA, with our payments on automatic draft. We were unaware and not notified of this change. Our drafts stopped, so we mailed checks to BBVA, with all of them being returned. We did our own research and found out what change had taken place, so we asked for the correct mailing address for payments, PNC could not give me any info on my loan, including payoff, payment or loan balance. I sent payments, and they were also returned. In XX/XX/XXXX, PNC Bank reported our account as a charge off, after PNC sent a repossession company to pick my vehicle up and receiving money over the phone from my checking account, along with XXXX mths of payments setup for draft, to catch up the payments we had tried to so desperately send to both banks for several months. We were also unaware the reported a charge off on this account until we called for a payoff on XXXX XXXX and the dealership said they couldnt pay a charge off account and PNC would not give them a payoff amount or why it was charged off. I want this charge off removed from all credit report agencies immediately, as I feel as if PNC Bank and BBVA Bank failed to notify us of such a drastic change, leaving us in the dark of where payments needed to be sent, or that our loan had even been transferred to them. PNC Bank did not have our correct address in their system either.

Subissue: Problem using a debit or ATM card
Consumer Complaint: My XX/XX/XXXX bank statement had several unauthorized transactions on my debit card listed with the greatest amount of {$980.00}. XXXX occurring on XX/XX/XXXX. On XXXX XXXX I called the customer service of PNC bank to file disputes on the unauthorized transactions. The PNC customer service representative assisted me in identifying the unauthorized transactions. She filed the disputes for me on the phone and also issued provisional temporary credits and reversal of insufficient funds fees that had been debited as a result of the unauthorized withdrawals. She had me identify transactions dating back to XXXX, XXXX. I know that the banks will not consider disputes if they are not notified of the fraudulent transaction within 60 days of the date the unauthorized transaction is first noticed. I did ask the customer service rep about this, since the oldest of these unauthorized transactions occurred more than 60 days from the date I was disputing them, which was XX/XX/XXXX. The customer service rep told me there was no problem and each dispute would be considered by itself whether it was affected by the 60 day policy. I was most concerned about the more recent transactions that had been done within that 60 days. I received letters from PNC Bank 5 days later that allowed most of the transactions that were unauthorized but they denied the dispute for the {$980.00} which had occurred a week earlier in XXXX Pennsylvania. I went in person to a local branch to discuss why the {$980.00} debit and an unauthorized transaction that I had filed a dispute on was denied. The bank teller at the local branch made a phone call to the main office in Pennsylvania of PNC Bank. He asked why this dispute for the individual unauthorized transaction of {$980.00} was denied. He could not do anything else for me except file another dispute for that amount of money. I did not initiate that transaction I have never been to XXXX Pennsylvania and the payee on that transaction was XXXX parking. Also my debit card had not been stolen or lost and I had not given the information to anybody the card has been in my possession the whole time. This was a fraudulent use of my debit card information and my account that resulted in a {$980.00} withdrawal of my money. The second dispute that was filed that day at the bank the local branch was also denied without a reason given and the money in the amount of {$980.00} was it was again debited debited from my account. I have spoken with the retail services department of PNC Bank which is located out of state to understand and to ask why this money is not going to be returned to me I was informed that the money will not be returned to me because it was reported more than 60 days prior to the unauthorized transaction, even though the transaction occurred on XX/XX/XXXX and I reported it originally on XX/XX/XXXX to PNC Bank the fact that several transactions back in XXXX of XXXX and XXXX of XXXX were included in the disputes that I filed on the phone that evidently affected ones that were being reported in a timely manner. I am unsure of how to proceed as I do need that money restored to my account and because it's out of state I can not file a police report of the theft locally. Pnc bank retail services department representative advised me to contact the payee XXXX Parking to see if they will reimburse me. I will do that but highly doubt they will be concerned with returning the money.

Consumer Complaint: PNC Bank acquired my home mortgage from XXXX XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX, PNC sent me notice of their intent to withhold a 2 month cushion in my voluntary escrow account for property taxes. My original morgage documents agreed on {$0.00} cushion and terms that my escrow payments could only increase if actual property taxes increased. Homeowners insurance is not a factor as I pay that outside of escrow as originally agreed to. Further, my property taxes are frozen regardless of appraised value due to my over XXXX homestead exemption in Texas. I sent all of this documentation to PNC and received a response that the 2 month cushion is their policy with no regard to the terms of the loan they acquired. I then asked PNC to close my escrow account, which was voluntary for concvenience on my part, and return all my escrow deposits to me. PNC then resonded with an outragious fee of {$680.00} to close the account which currently contains about {$1500.00}. I am not receiving any interest on these escrow funds and I don't beleive PNC has the right to charge any fee, let alone this rediculous amount. All of the documents reference here are attached for review. PNC customer service address and phone : PNC Bank, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, OH XXXX, XXXX

Consumer Complaint: My bank, PNC bank will not credit me back for the {$300.00} that I paid a service for. The service will not respond to me and has stolen my {$300.00}. I have tried appealing this decision made by my bank but they will not credit me back for the service I never received. I purchased the service in full on XX/XX/2022 which was taken from me then. I scheduled the service, and it ended up being cancelled over 4 times. The provider stopped responding to me and took my {$300.00}. PNC Bank will not do right by me, their loyal customer and give me my money back that was stolen from me. The provider was XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX located in Oregon. This provider is extremely unprofessional due to the fact she cancelled my service at least 4 different times, dragged the service times out for the span of an entire year and has no communication with her clients. Her lack of legitimacy should not allow her to continue her business in the manner she does. I have gone back and forth with PNC Bank and they refuse to credit me back, yet they recognize what this so called business owner has done to me.

Consumer Complaint: I received a check from the US treasury. I deposited XX/XX/2023 into a new account at the bank and they have refused to release a hold on the check. Today is now XX/XX/2023. They have not been able to tell me why they won't release the funds. I've made several phone calls and sent email. I am only told it is being investigated.

Consumer Complaint: PNC Bank has decided not to do business with me. This is fine. They are a XXXX bank with XXXX people doing XXXX things. PNC is a horrible bank and always has been in my experience. I would hope we could just all move on and go our separate ways. While PNC has force closed my heritage demand deposit and credit accounts that were in good standing for over XXXX years, PNC continues to retain my mortgage note. I am required to send monthly payments to this horrible institution. Instead of acting like a grown up and selling my mortgage to another processing company PNC has made the decision to hold my loan. It is no surprise to me that PNC would like to make money where they can knowing that I am a good credit risk ; never the less, the " bank '' ( if you can call this XXXX bag company a bank ) has blocked all my telephone numbers from their systems. That means that PNC is refusing to take my calls. They demand I pay them but refuse to actually help if there is an issue. Believe me, there have been issues. I have all calls with these XXXX recorded. The have XXXX up since day XXXX of our relationship.

Consumer Complaint: I'm so sorry you lost my first complaint with PNC Bank, # XXXX this has something to do with that. I got a call from PNC wanting to know how I liked the bank, I told her twice I was closing my account for lying to me when I opened the account. A few weeks later I closed the account when all outstanding was complete righting on the last check " to close account '' since then every day they send me a low account notice. Now they won't allow me to log into my account and want to charge me {$24.00} fee for what I don't know. This is a closed account and I don't owe them anything.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I went to my local XXXX NJ branch of PNC Bank to open a joint account with my brother and sister in law who were both visiting from XXXX. I have a 30+ year relationship with this bank having joined with my spouse in XXXX of XXXX. My XXXX adult daughters also hold accounts in the same branch. At no time was I ever given any indication that there would be problems with the account. Indeed, that day, we deposited {$5000.00} into it. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from the bank indicating the account had been closed. No explanation given. I have called the indicated number. The bank does not answer the line with a live person. In fact, they do not return calls. So I wrote a letter which I will attach. Today, I have received a phone call. Pure and simple, it is what I expected : the bank has the right to close your account at any time and for whatever reason " just the same way you can close your account at any time and for whatever reason ''. I find this disappointing and also, a poor commercial practice. For one month the bank was happy to keep our money until they decided, for an unknown reason, to sever the relationship. We could have and probably will select another bank that can cater to our situation ( e.g., a US citizen that wishes to open a joint account with non-resident relatives ). The only account closed was the joint account with my brother and sister in law. I suspect there is nothing in the law that can help me redress with the bank but I wish to nonetheless file notice with CFPB this is one problem that needs to be fixed. At the very least, banks should be able to explain why the took action to close and also, they should be able to explain their policies for opening accounts with non-residents.
