Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: You never received your bill or did not know a payment was due
Consumer Complaint: PNC Bank issued me a credit card, which I've had for years. They encourage online payments. In XXXX, they moved my payment due date forward from the XXXX to the XXXX. When I went to make my payment on the XXXX, it was then overdue and I was charged {$27.00} late fee. I was not notified of this change, I did not request it and because I only have occasion to go to the credit card payment portal on the XXXX of each month when I pay all my bills, I was not afforded the ability to adjust. Furthermore, I requested a refund of the late payment fee and was told I was only permitted one per year. This was manipulation on their part and I'm not alone. I've spoken to others to whom they did the same thing. I asked they waive the fee and they told me they didn't see it - although I could clearly see it on their payment portal for my account. And yet additionally, I tried to make next month 's payment, indicating on the built-in calendar that it should be deducted from my account on the XXXX and it was denied, stating I'd already made a payment. Therefore, I'm prevented from making a payment that would save me interest. Lastly, to talk to a representative you must give your name, your account number, the last four of your social and your teller PIN code. This is clearly a security risk.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/19 I received a cashiers check and deposited into my PNC Virtual Wallet Account in the amount of {$1500.00}. The person I received the check from asked me to send him {$1000.00} back via XXXX since he overpaid me for the item he was purchasing from me on XXXX XXXX XXXX. I sent the money on XX/XX/19. I called the bank when i was told by my father it was a scam and was told the transaction was pending and there was nothing that could be done until it posted to my account. Once it posted I called back and was told because I sent the payment and it was via XXXX they were not willing to do anything to help recover the funds and told me to sue the person. I can no longer get in touch with this person as it was a scam. I am a XXXX year old XXXX XXXX that worked all summer for this money for school books, etc. This is having a serious financial impact on me.

Subissue: Fee problem
Consumer Complaint: I maintained a Premiere Money Market Account with PNC. I was charged a {$12.00} service fee on XX/XX/19 and XX/XX/19 ( monthly service fee ). I had previously ( many years ) never been charged a service fee. I called PNC to dispute the service fee and was told that it was due to my account balance being below {$5000.00}. I informed the representative that the fee was never previously charged and that it had not been disclosed to me. It does not seem right to me that I was charged the {$12.00} monthly fee beginning in XX/XX/2019 with no disclosure to me that the fee would be charged. Additionally, PNC was paying me XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) in monthly interest ( very low interest rate for a Premiere Money Market account ) while collecting {$12.00} via monthly service fee. This seems like stealing to me. Had I not noticed the fee, eventually my Premiere Money Market funds would have been exhausted.

Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Money was taken from your account on the wrong day or for the wrong amount
Consumer Complaint: I have over the last few months have had several withdrawals from my account by XXXX XXXX XXXX CA. I have a son that's in college and told me to use this service to send him money. I did but I noticed every time after I sent him the money they would take out way more than was sent to him and what I authorized so I started to email and call XXXX XXXX XXXX and I was getting no where. Emails would be sent back to me stating that they were researching but they never did anything. You can not contact these people everything is electronic. So I finally just went online to my bank account and started o dispute the charges with my bank account last month. The last few weeks PNC Bank has started to reverse the provisional credits that they had given me for these charges giving me a the reason that the they are unable to research and or dispute outside or sorry third party vendor disputes and that I have to dispute directly with XXXX. I told them I tried for over a month and this is alot of money that has been taken out of my account they basically stayed on their script. They should it is nothing that they could do it is bank policy it will be denied and all the others will be denied. They basically told me that sorry we are not going to help you figure it out on your own, I have run out of options. I need this to be resolved I need my money back in my account because now my accounts sit in a negative balance. The charges that I am disputing are as follows : XX/XX/2019 {$160.00} taken from my account should have only been {$40.00}, XX/XX/2019 {$230.00} taken from my account should have only been {$20.00}, XX/XX/2019 {$600.00} taken from my account should have only been {$60.00}, XX/XX/2019 {$400.00} was taken from my account should have only been {$20.00}

Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: We had experienced a financial loss of income in XX/XX/XXXX. By XX/XX/XXXX we could not make our monthly morgage payments. So we tried to refinance our mortgages through PNC mortgage company. However, we were denied. PNC stated we did not qualify for any of their existing programs. In an effort to save our home we met with a HUD approved financial counselor through the XXXX services in XXXX. He informed us that our 1st loan is founded through XXXX XXXX and that we sdould qualify for the Flex Modification program. PNC never informed us of this and just denied us outright giving us no other options. If PNC would have informed us we could be right now working on rescheduling or consolidating our loans. Not to mention they would lose nothing. My family has lived in this home for 17 years and have alwys had a good relationship with PNC mortgage company and would like to continue our relationship with PNC. All we wish to do is to continue to live in our home. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I have banked with PNC for 4 1/2 years with direct deposit. I just started to work on my credit and got a prepaid credit card from them with a limit of {$500.00}. My first payment was due on XX/XX/19. I paid it through my virtual wallet through a transfer from checking to the credit card and paid {$400.00} ( minimum was {$25.00} ) on said date at XXXX.It said it will post on XX/XX/19 which is 3 days later but I know that I paid it on the date that it was due. The lady at PNC was very helpful and she said she would normally wave the {$25.00} late fee but she cant so she made a call. After the call she said you did everything right but the lady on the phone wont wave the fee because it wasnt a seasoned account. She said I guess next time make sure you pay it several days before its due. In that case no due date should ever be on a Saturday or Sunday or Holiday because banks arent open then I guess lol

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Funds not handled or disbursed as instructed
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX my bank account was hacked. The hacker wrote themselves and electronic check in the amount of {$3100.00}. As soon as I noticed I called my bank PNC, which then instructed me to file a dispute and sign an affidavit which was to be notarized by a branch representative. I did just that XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX when I called the bank to check in on the dispute process, I was notified that the instruction given to me by previous bank reps was wrong and I needed to file another dispute ; which I did. Now, PNC is denying the claim and they told me that there is nothing that can be done. As a consumer I was robbed of my funds and the bank is failing to protect me.

Subissue: Problem using a debit or ATM card
Consumer Complaint: Unauthorized debit card use by a person who is also being investigated for elder abuse. Went into the branch location on XX/XX/XXXX to close an acct and report unauthorized use of a debit card. Rep for the bank printed off bank statements from XX/XX/XXXX- XX/XX/XXXX and had me to highlight each item disputed. We received a call from a different rep from the bank at the time my grandfather was XXXX at the hospital, we were provided a contact # to call when he was discharged and when we call this rep said that because he could not verify any transactions on the acct that she could not help him and referred us back to the local branch. I called the local branch and was issued an appt to meet at the branch on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX only to arrive and nobody was there. I called the branch today XX/XX/XXXX and asked why I was given an appt and nobody was there. I was told that there was an emergency at 2 other locations so the appt was canceled. She then proceeded to say that I would once again need to bring my XXXX year old grandfather into the bank again to confirm what he has already provided to the first rep on XX/XX/XXXX. I feel like we are getting the run around and nobody is able to give us any answer or explanation

Subissue: Problem with cash advances
Consumer Complaint: WARNING to Other Consumers PNC Credit Cards- All payments are allocated to the LOWER INTEREST RATE PURCHASES FIRST, so the bank can make more money on the higher interest rate balances. This is UNETHICAL. PNC bank purposely holds on to the higher interest rate balances until the lower interest rate balances are paid. We have a business PNC credit card. XX/XX/2019 we took a small cash advance of {$100.00}, which we have never done before, but we were in a bind. On XX/XX/2019, I paid our credit card minimum and added and extra {$100.00} to pay off the cash advance. credit card purchases are charged 21 % cash advance purchases are charged 25 % I called PNC customer service on XX/XX/2019 after my payment posted and asked them to please apply {$100.00} of my payment to the cash advance. I was told by the customer rep XXXX XXXX that payments go to the LOWER interest rate balance first. We owe {$8000.00} in purchases, so PNC will be charging 25 % on our {$100.00} cash advance until we pay off the card. I asked to speak to XXXX 's escalation manager XXXX. XXXX told me they will not and can not allocate {$100.00} to be applied to the cash advance balance. All payments we make pay down the LOWER INTEREST RATE Purchases first. This is so unethical! So PNC is going to make the higher interest rate purchases the last to be paid off. This is wrong! We have our business banking with PNC. Now we are going to move our business banking to another bank. I am infuriated about this.

The transactions were clearly fraudulent, including charges like {$600.00} for XXXX services in XXXX GA as well as XXXX charges around the city. I haven't been to XXXX for more than four years. Payments were made to wireless phone carriers for which I have no account. Nonetheless, the bank denied my claim.
