Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Fee problem
Consumer Complaint: Hi, I got charged by my bank ( PNC ) for a cash advance fee for an " overdraft '' protect feature which I believe had already been turned off. I over drafted my checking account on XXXX, and immediately fund the account as soon as I realized it. The bank funded my checking account by drawing a cash advance from my credit card account via overdraft protection feature and charged me a {$170.00} cash advance fee. I believe I've already disabled this feature. I called the bank asking about the charge, 2 persons, one from checking and another from credit card, both told me that they saw the feature was off - they escalated the issue. However, when the representative from the escalation department called me back, he wasn't able to resolve the issue. The cash advance fee was way higher than what i would have been charged for overdraft. Not sure why the bank would even call it protection. The bank didn't notify me when my account was overdrafted until the next day, otherwise i could have fund the account immediately.

Issue: Problem with the payoff process at the end of the loan
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: Loan was paid off on XX/XX/2019. PNC said they would hold the lien release for 7-10 days. On XX/XX/2019, they instead mailed a check of {$0.00}, and continued to hold the lien release until XX/XX/2019. They verified that they had finally mailed the release on XX/XX/XXXX, which if the {$0.00} check is an indicator, will not reach us until XX/XX/XXXX at the earliest. Filed complaint with PNC on XX/XX/XXXX ( # XXXX ). How is it justified to withhold a release of lien for 21 days without any compensation? This has held up distribution of funds in escrow.

Consumer Complaint: PNC Bank failed to investigate my fraud claim. I reported to PNC that I never received an item that I purchased. I also told the bank that I possessed written evidence from the seller that confirms I never received the item. PNC never attempted to view my evidence and instead closed its investigation, citing no evidence. I called PNC seeking an explanation. The agent told me she would check with the person who conducted the investigation and call me back with more details, but they never called me back.

Consumer Complaint: I have a loan with PNCBANK. I have always made my payments on time. For some reason, I realized that there was a late payment on my credit report. As you can see, I have always had a stellar payment record with this company. I tried contacting both XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and PNCBANK with no successful resolution. XXXX, XXXX and XXXX were reporting me late. There was definitely an error on their part. I was never 30 days late.

Issue: Problem caused by your funds being low
Subissue: Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/19 PNC Bank charged me an overdraft fee three times despite the fact that my account had a positive balance of {$19.00}. Those three fees ( {$36.00} each ) caused my account to be overdrawn, which then resulted in a cascade of additional fees, totaling {$390.00}. My account is now overdrawn {$680.00}, with {$390.00} of that being fees charged by PNC. PNC refused to refund the fees when I contacted them.

Issue: Applying for a mortgage or refinancing an existing mortgage

Consumer Complaint: PNC knowingly and deliberately stalled and withheld disclosures until the last possible moment knowing of an urgency of an event on XX/XX/2019. Application was filed on XX/XX/2019. No Truth in lending disclosure was ever issued. Appraisal took over 4 weeks to complete a `` drive by ''. XX/XX/2019 I was notified that the loan was ready and would be closing on XX/XX/2019. At that time I strongly requested a hard copy of the terms of the loan to no avail. Day of closing I was informed of a mandatory Checking account requiring a minimum balance of {$500.00}. When I refused they increased the interest rate of the loan in leu of an account. Without a disclosure or anything tangible I refused to sign in fear of other penalties and fees not previously mentioned. These tactics are nothing short of predatory.

Consumer Complaint: I called and asked what options were due to hardship of paying student loan. I was informed in XXXX 2019 that forbearance was an option and received and submitted the paperwork as requested. Forbearance was denied in letter received due to borrower not signing form. I have come to find out I was misled and this is not the reason, the real reason was the loan was charged off to collections before decision was made on denying my forbearance as co-signor. My son lost his job, and I had a XXXX XXXX and am not working, presently on XXXX XXXX XXXX. The loan was charged off XX/XX/XXXX-19 and my denial was not tillXX/XX/XXXX-19. I was never informed of this sequence of events until I filed a XX/XX/XXXX of XXXX PA complaint. Only then, after leaving voice mail to call me which went un-responded to, was I contacted by PNC Bank. I have not been provided the accurate information along the path of attempting to forbear the loan. I simply am asking for options available to any borrower and attempting to pay the loan payments as required when able.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Banking errors
Consumer Complaint: On or about XXXX XXXX 2019, I went to the local branch in XXXX Il. I requested my 3 account to be closed and funds mailed to me. The local bank insisted they issue checks for funds. I received funds and left premises. On XXXX XXXX 2019, I received a phone call from PMC Bank corporate ; my accounts occurred penalties, overdrafts and/or insufficient fund charges. The accounts were not closed, PNC SAID they made a payment to XXXX XXXX on XXXX XX/XX/2019, for the sum of {$24.00}. The bank had no authority to make payments in my name, said payment was unauthorized because PNC was notified in " XXXX XX/XX/2019 '' to close my accounts. I wanted to clear up said issue quickly so I offered to pay the {$24.00} and fees. A bank check was processed for the sum of {$43.00} with a memo attachment of XXXX XXXX. The bank representative SAID they released all other fees attached to my personnel checking and saving and CLOSED them. The PNC representative said my business checking fees had to be released by a different department and she would check on said and call me back. The representative did call me back the same day, SAID the fees were cleared and the account was closed. On XXXX XX/XX/2019, I filled out a PNC e-survey ; I gave high marks to the representative ( that said she closed my accounts ) but, I gave low marks to service. On or about XXXX XXXX a PNC representative called me to further investigate my poor survey results. I explained my issues with PNC banks incompetence that I had witness in the past 4 years ( I believe its a local issue with XXXX, Il facility ). In reflection, it makes me feel PNC is now harassing me because of my survey results. On XXXX XX/XX/2019, I received a phone call from PNC Bank corporate ; my accounts occurred penalties, overdrafts and/or insufficient fund charges. The accounts were not closed, PNC SAID they made a payment to XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX 2019, for the sum of {$24.00}, this date changes as the conversation progressed ; as I explained the situation. When I told them I had proof I paid said amount on XXXX XXXX, the payment date was changed to XXXX XXXX and then XXXX XXXX. Again : The bank had no authority to make payments in my name, said payment was unauthorized because PNC was notified in " XXXX XXXX 2019 '' and XXXX XX/XX/2019 to close my accounts. And the representative confirmed the closing on XXXX XX/XX/2019. NOTE : I failed to change the account information for XXXX XXXX. I fixed the issue on XXXX XX/XX/2019 as I was talking to the PNC representative, I rechecked the account assigned bank on XXXX XXXX 2019 to confirm the assigned bank was correct. Per XXXX XXXX records a payment for {$24.00} was requested by PNC on XXXX XX/XX/2019 and returned. This means no funds were distributed by PNC ( payment was not made ). So, in effect the payment request made by PNC on XXXX XXXX from me, for the sum of {$43.00} ( XXXX XXXX and fees ) was fraudulent. In addition, the current request for funds repayment and fees issued to XXXX XXXX is fraudulent. PNC has not made a payment to XXXX XXXX in my behalf since XXXX of 2019. Note : a request for payment was make on XXXX XXXX 2019 and returned. My conversation between PNC representative XXXX XXXX and myself terminated with no resolution. PNC rep said they would call back on Friday XXXX XXXX 2019. I have no confidence said issue will be resolved ; PNC has had 2 opportunities, to close my accounts and failed.
