Consumer Complaint: Venmo frozen my account on XX/XX/XXXX, I called them and they told me they would respond after 24 hours. I did not receive a response until XX/XX/XXXX. At which point they told me the were closing my account and holding my funds for 180 days. I did nothing wrong and they are stealing my money. I desperately need that money to pay my bills. I am a single mom who now fees eviction due to this. At this point I will be submitting all of this to the news and blowing this up to a massive story if they do not allow me to at least withdrawl my funds immediately.

Consumer Complaint: The company called and told me that they were fixing the charge and reinstating my account. They also told me that they would make it so that I could add my bank account to the new account instead of the previous account. This is not what happened. I attempted to add that bank account again, several times, and when I tried manually, my account got frozen... AGAIN! This is unacceptable and this is still the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. This process has been frustrating and annoying and quite frankly, I would advise anyone not to even bother ever trying Venmo.

No explanation was given- they requested that I verify my identify and they locked the account shortly after I did so. This came less than two weeks after I filed a complaint with the XXXX XXXX XXXX after PayPal refused to relinquish funds from a second account that had also been locked without explanation. PayPal is illegally holding approximately {$450.00}, a petty sum but one that I earned through honest and legal activity.

Consumer Complaint: The complaint is against PayPal. I have had an account with PayPal for a long time that I rarely have used except maybe 1 or 2 transactions over the life of the account since it was created. They placed my account on a temporary restriction and requested information from me to resolve the account restriction including linkage of a bank account and photo ID. These documents were submitted and accepted when I was logged into my PayPal account. Today, I received an email with a receipt indicating a purchase through PayPal that appeared to be a scam. I do not use PayPal. I logged into my account on the legitimate PayPal site to close my account which I was unable to do so. The site indicated that I needed to resolve issues with my account to remove the limitation and could not close or delete any information until that time. I also found the attached notice that stated, " We're permanently limiting your account. You can no longer use PayPal as we've decided to permanently limit your account after review. '' I called PayPal today at XXXX and spoke with XXXX. She stated that PayPal determined that transactions on my account were a security threat to PayPal and its users despite seeing that the account is not used. She stated that I could not close the account or delete any information with the permanent limitation status that she could not override. She would not immediately state the reason that my account was permanently limited but then stated it was due to the photo ID that I submitted upon their request that created the issue but would not tell me anything more. She said that I could submit another photo ID for review. I refused stating that I would not provide any further information since PayPal was not letting me have control over it. She kept referring back to the User Agreement. She could not do anything further. I stated that I would file a complaint with the FTC and CFPB to have my account and all the information deleted from their databases.

I have PayPal account and I have not been charged but these emails are trying to get me to call them to complete the charge for opening a business PayPal. They are trying to scam me. I have an account on XXXX for selling XXXX and my website is XXXX. After corona, I didn't sell many XXXX. In XX/XX/2023, I discovered the website XXXX. Here one can sell XXXX and one then receives a percentage of the fee back. I have invested all my savings in this. I have done this from XX/XX/2023 to my satisfaction. This allowed me to pay for painting materials and part of the studio rent. XXXX is very reliable but only works via PayPal for the payout. My income is a small pension. As of XX/XX/2023, my account with PayPal is suddenly ( permanent ) limited. I can no longer withdraw money, I can no longer receive money and I can no longer pay anything through PayPal for the duration of six months. I have been seriously affected by this. It means that I can no longer pay the rent of my studio. The payouts via XXXX come in amounts of about XXXX from various sources that I obviously can not check. I have spoken to PayPal staff a few times on XX/XX/XXXX. It turned out that I was suspected of speculative trading in XXXX via PayPal. This is not the case. I am not a " trader ''. I use the possibilities of XXXX. All risks are for me, not for PayPal. My case was escalated, but result. I don't feel treated fairly. That is why I want to make a complaint.
