Consumer Complaint: I have had NelNet as a student loan service provider for 23 years now. 20 of those years I have had consolidated loans and every year I send in my payment plan renewal for the Income driven repayment plans. EVERY YEAR not just once or twice but for the last 20 years when submitting my forms they email me and make me resubmit them twice or even three times saying they never got them.. When my spouse and I divorced 10 years ago it became a bigger nightmare to fight with them because then I had to find him and have him sign his information which I have to submit every year twice or three times. If I call them I get the run around oh we didn't receive this or that or you have to resubmit this it takes them 6 months got get my payment plan in place and THEN several years I found out they only put it into forbearance the didn't actually apply my payment plan. This year I have had enough. I submitted my IDR request paper work TWICE once in XXXX when they sent my requalification and again in XXXX. I have sent in paycheck stubs twice and my ex husbands co maker stuff twice and NOW they are calling me because I owe them XXXX come XXXX. I have submitted everything to them per request. I have emailed their help desk to which I get a response we don't have documentation and I resend the same documentation I have sent before I save it as proof of when I sent it in. 23 years ..... I am tired of the run around, I am working I submit the paper work for my IDR plans and THEY can't do their job. I don't know if I am the only one but its a joke and something needs done!

Consumer Complaint: I applied for XXXX in late XXXX as my first payment on Nelnet 's site was showing XX/XX/XXXX for a payment based on a XXXX plan I was not enrolled in. Approximately XXXX week prior to my payment date, I rechecked the site and saw that the correct amount based on the XXXX plan was set as my payment. I signed up for the autopay. I did not see any fee charged to my account on the payment date. Then on XX/XX/XXXX I received an email stating that my account was put into an administrative forebearance. My account is still accruing interest despite the fact that I was prepared to make payments on the XXXX plan and thus would have my interest wave. This oversight is leading to myself and many other borrowers unfairly being charged interest because the SERVICER is unable to process all applications.

Consumer Complaint: I have applied for the SAVE repayment plan for the student loans. I have not been able to contact anyone at Nelnet to confirm where my SAVE application is in the process. Even though my payments are due and the SAVE application is not processed, Nelnet does not have any one available to speak to on the phone nor do they respond to emails. I have called several times to no avail. Also, I have sent an email advising Nelnet to contact me to discuss or provide me any update regarding my application. There is no response. My loans are due and although my SAVE application was received on XX/XX/XXXX, there is no update to the application process. There is no way for me to even make the correct payment required because the SAVE application is not processed. Unfortunately, Nelnet is not able to provide the loan borrowers with the support needed.

Consumer Complaint: I previously reached out on XX/XX/XXXX with a minor inquiry on the payment process and ease of making payments with them as they stripped the app and made it more difficult to access your account right after acquiring Great Lakes. I never received a response to this email still 2 months later. I reached out to them again as I logged in to my account to set up my XXXX payment and found out that my XXXX payment was declined and my account was past due. I've never missed student loan payments until having to deal with Nelnet. I reached out and asked for information as to why my payment was declined as they provided no information as to what was wrong with the payment method. Nothing showed as a transaction with my financial institution indicating a payment was even attempted by Nelnet. I have yet to receive a response other than automated reply they are very busy and apologize for the delay. How far behind are you that my email from 2 months ago still hasn't been responded to? I'm hoping the next payment goes through because otherwise I don't know how else I'm going to pay this loan back. My account is already past due and Nelnet is unresponsive to offer any assistance in what is going on. I can't fix what I don't know is wrong with the payment method and haven't had issues with this in the past.

Consumer Complaint: Good Morning. I have a large amount of student loans with Nelnet. As soon as the XXXX application was rolled out, I applied. Nelnet is unable to calculate my payments, so they have put me in an administrative forbearance. Right now the forbearance is set to end in XX/XX/2027!!!! I am currently accruing interest at about XXXX a month. I have reached out to them, and they state I will be responsible to pay back all this interest. I need help getting them to calculate and place me in the XXXX repayment plan. Please help!

Consumer Complaint: Name : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX NELNET XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX This letter is to provide you with knowledge of intent to sue. The lawsuit will filed due to the utter lack of response from your company. When someone is the victim of identity theft, it is simply a nightmare trying to get false information removed from a credit file. I have contacted all of the false creditors listed on my credit file. I have challenged all of the false listings on my credit file. Nothing ever happens to fix the situation. Over 90 days ago I wrote each the creditors in question and demanded proof that I am their customer. I asked for proof of the alleged debt, including specifically the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature. So far none of them has been able to provide such proof to me. I have sent follow-up letters to each of them and there is still no proof. I have attempted phone contact, but I simply get transferred around and nothing ever gets accomplished. I have fully investigated my rights in this matter. Under the doctrine of estoppel by silence, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, I may presume that no proof of the alleged debt, nor therefore any such debt, in fact exists. I have copies of the certified letters and dates prepared to bring to court. Also, under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, these disputed items may not appear on my credit report if they can not be supported by any evidence. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, if they can not verify the debt within 30 days, then it must be removed. Your letters to me claim to have " verified '' the debt, but this is in fact not true under law. Simply contacting the alleged creditor and asking them to match up numbers in their database is no sufficient verification for identity theft. Of course the information matches up. Someone clearly used my information without my authorization. Now I am suing XXXX for being such a pain in the posterior to me. I have provided more than sufficient evidence to get these false accounts removed. You may contact me before XXXX via letter at my address listed at the top of this letter. This matter can be settled simply by your agreement to remove the false information from my credit file. I require a response, on point, in writing, hand signed, and in a timely manner. If I get another pointless letter from you saying that it has already been " verified '' then there will be no more opportunity for negotiation. This will proceed in court until I have successfully proven to a judge that this false information must be removed from my credit file. I will also be aggressively pursuing the full judgment that I can get against XXXX for violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Defamation.
