Consumer Complaint: Subject : Urgent Address Regarding Violations of Federal Law - 15 U.S.C. 1666 ( b ), 15 U.S.C. 1611 ( 1 ), 15 U.S. Code 1681n, and 15 U.S. Code 1681s-2 Dear Navy Federal Credit Union , I trust this letter finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention potential violations of federal law codes, specifically 15 U.S.C. 1666 ( b ), 15 U.S.C. 1611 ( 1 ), 15 U.S. Code 1681n, and 15 U.S. Code 1681s-2. Upon careful examination, concerns have arisen regarding compliance with these codes, particularly related to the verification of billing statement receipt and accuracy of reported information. Under 15 U.S.C. 1666 ( b ), creditors are required to adopt reasonable procedures for verifying the receipt of billing statements. The absence of a robust system for confirming receipt, whether paper or electronic, may constitute a violation. Additionally, 15 U.S.C. 1611 ( 1 ) prohibits furnishing false or inaccurate information, raising questions about the accuracy of reported information, especially regarding late payments. The gravity of potential violations under 15 U.S. Code 1681n, addressing willful non-compliance with federal law, is emphasized. Regardless of prior awareness, addressing any breaches of consumer rights is crucial. Attention is also drawn to 15 U.S. Code 1681s-2, which requires furnishers of information to provide accurate and complete information to consumer reporting agencies. I kindly request that you promptly review and address this matter. If violations are found, I urge Navy Federal Credit Union to take corrective action, including updating my account status to paid as agreed to rectify any potential adverse impact on my credit history. Ensuring my credit report accurately reflects payment history is crucial, and I trust you will consider this matter with fairness and urgency. Your immediate attention to this request is of utmost importance, and I anticipate your cooperation in resolving this matter promptly. Done in good faith.
