I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH AN SUPERVISOR, AND HE WENT ON TO SAY, THEY ARE GON NA TELL YOU THE SAME THING, I THEN REPEATED MY SELF SEVERAL TIMES AND FINALLY HE NEVER SAID HOLD ON, I I HEARD MUSIC AND ASSUMED HE WAS PLACED ME ON HOLD. HE WAS VERY RUDE AS WELL AS YELLING AT ME STATING '' HE DID NOT GIVE ME PERMISSION TO RECORD HIS CALL ''. AFTER BEING ON HOLD FOR ALMOST 1O MINS ( RECORDED ) HE THEN TRANSFERRED ME TO A DIFFERENT CUSTOMER SERVICE MEMBER INSTEAD OF A SUPERVISOR THEN I HAD TO WAIT AN ADDITIONAL 10 MIN TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE ELSE. MY HOLD PHONE CONVERSATION WAS RECORDED. IF HE ACTED LIKE THAT WITH ME, THERE'S NO TELLING WHO ELSE HE HAS ACTED THIS WAY WITH.I 'M TRYING TO LET YOU ALL HANDLE IT FIRST BEFORE TAKING IT FURTHER TO COURT. MY CALL BACK NUMBER IS XXXX. AGAIN, NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR TOWARDS ANYONE. I REMAIN PROFESSIONAL AND MANNERABLE, BUT HE DID NOT.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan

Subissue: Problem lowering your monthly payments

Consumer Complaint: Ive have tried calling Navient over the past year to work out a solution and I am only ever given the option to pay {$50.00} once and then back to the regular monthly payment which is over {$350.00}. I owe about {$29000.00} and my interest rate is extremely high, at 13.5 %. I have repeatedly asked to have a lower interest rate and monthly payment. Navient asks me the same question each time I call and give me no other options no matter how far my account goes past due. They refuse to offer any reasonable, long term solutions.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Keep getting calls about your loan

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 I received a call from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on my personal cell phone from a person claiming to be with XXXX XXXX XXXX about a " personal business matter. '' This person would not inform me of what this was about until I provided personal information, which I did not provide. Later that morning I received a call on my work phone. I did not record the number, but it was the same organization on the line. Again, I could not verify that they have any legal claim to be reaching out to me, so I declined to answer any questions. About an hour later, my grandmother called to tell me that somebody had reached out to her about me. I suspect it was the same organization. Today, XX/XX/2019 I was informed that XXXX from the XXXX XXXX XXXX called someone at the firm I work for on this matter. The number they called from was XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have never received any mailed communication from this organization or any proof that they have any legal claim to be reaching out to me. I suspect this is in regards to student loan debt, however I already know who I pay student loan debt to. Further, if they are a legitimate debt service organization I would imagine they should be able to get up to date information from my school - my school knows where I live. The combination of their aggressive tactics and their inability to locate where I live to send me mail on the subject suggests to me that this is not a legitimate organization and I will not give any personal information to them until I am able to. I suspect I am being targeted as part of a scam.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled

Consumer Complaint: I have been making payments to Navient in advance. I should be paid a year in advance. And my profile is set to apply payments to future payments rather than just to principle. Despite that request, every month I make a payment, the due date is not advanced. I have made countless phone calls to try to get this issue addressed -- and while they fix the particular payment about which I am calling ; the underlying issue has not been resolved. I have called close to a dozen times now. I have also tried emailing them. And still the payments are being misapplied. I am trying to pay in advance in case something horrible happens and I am unable to make a timely payment. It shouldn't take me an hour out of every month simply to make sure my payments are being applied in a fair way. Moreover, every time they make " an adjustment '' the numbers then look off. At one point, a representative told me that the interest I pay is the same regardless of how much principle I have paid -- or how far in advance I am paid. And though my payments are always more than the required amount, the payment schedule has never been adjusted to reflect an earlier final payment date. My payment amount is supposed to be {$380.00}. Every month, I have been paying {$400.00}. When I have asked for information in writing, nothing has been sent. So, unfortunately, I can not attached any correspondence as none has ever been provided.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan

Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I was informed by Navient that my student loan was not eligible for reduced repayment options without refinancing. I refinanced and applied for a income driven repayment plan. I was informed that my account would remain in forbearance until XXXX so that the IDR plan could be processed. My first IDR request from XX/XX/XXXX was not processed by navient. I applied a second time. On XX/XX/XXXX i was informed that i was in repayment and had a payment due XX/XX/XXXX, 13 days later, with a repayment amount outside my ability to pay. i called again, and was told that my payment would be moved to XX/XX/XXXX and to reapply for an IDR plan. i reapplied, however, my payment forbearance request was not processed and i was stiill shown as past due for XX/XX/XXXX. ive just called Navent 3 times, and been disconnnected 2. According to Navient, the agent who took my call the last week of XXXX did not process any of my requests. Its very hard to resolve when the agents at Navient do not process requests. its very hard to resolve repayment issues when the information that agents provide is not reflected in the online activity.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Received bad information about your loan

Consumer Complaint: My complaint is about Navient. I have loans with them with two co-signers. I took out loans to attend college but I left college to go to XXXX school. My loans became due almost immediately after leaving XXXX XXXX. While in XXXX school I was not working and I was told that my Navient loan could go into deferment, however I was receiving calls about making payments to which I always responded that I am supposed to be in deferment. Upon completing XXXX school I could not sit for licensing because I could not pay the school loan and of course this became a horrible cycle. I could not get a job because I had no license and I could not get the license without paying back the school. In the mean time I let Navient know I had no income and was told I needed to do forbearance because my deferment option was exhausted. I had to pay {$150.00} to file a forbearance that lasted a month. Each time the loan came due and I wanted to file a forbearance I had to pay {$150.00}, which I had to borrow from family or friends. I was not given the option of an income-based repayment, which I found out later should have been an option. I was not offered an economic hardship deferment. There was no discussion about how to lower my payments Then in XXXX I asked specifically for a payment program that I could meet. The person I spoke to said I could send {$20.00} per month to avoid default. I sent {$20.00} per month for nearly a year before receiving a call from Navient stating that what I am paying is doing nothing for my account and I needed to pay more, which I could not afford as I was still not working. She said I might as well not send anything. Then I found out that I was actually kicked out of this payment program and my loan was in default. Navient began calling and sending letters and harassed my ailing grandmother who is almost XXXX years old. She is a co-signer from XXXX but now on a fixed income and sickly. She was so fearful it made her sicker but Navient would not help me to release her from my loan so that she would not be harassed. As stated above, in the end my loan went into default and then I started receiving bills from XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX with what appears to be inflated amounts of each loan. At this time I am still trying to pay back XXXX XXXX XXXX to sit for licensing so that I can get a job.
