Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: My son needed a co-signer to sign to help him get loans to go to school. That was in XXXX. I have been making payments on this loan since XXXX.. It started out with one co. and now it has changed hands three more times and Navient has it now and they just seem to be the biggest thieves I have ever seen. The original loan amount was XXXX.. and now it is down to {$11000.00}. ( this co. got my account in XXXX ) all except a few months, I have made more than the minimum payment.. I know it was down to {$8000.00} with one of the other loan. co. This company is charging it on the whole amount.. They said my pay off should be in XXXX. and charging me 10.5 % interest.. When I try to talk to them, they won't give me the answers because the loan is in my son 's name, but they want me to pay because I am the co- signer. ( his other loans are being garnished from my paycheck at 15 % per check ) .. It doesn't seem fair that when a parent tries to help their kids go to college with a parent- plus loan, then when the bills come due it is the parents problem and the kid isn't responsible or their credit ruined like the parents are. Navient is the worse company, I have ever dealt with. I am hoping you can help.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX RE : Navient Solutions are inaccurate being reported As of this date, I am challenging the accurate of my student loans ; yet not all student loans are closed and instead theres 2 pending loans which are being label as transfer to another office, and then the inaccuracy that shows on my credit reports as well. Meanwhile as to reviewing my credit report, its shows there are 2 open student accounts and as a result its lowering my credit score. However, I did try to trace the various loan holders and its always a dead end. Nonetheless, Navient Solution does claims they tried to retrieve my last two loans from XXXX XXXX and XXXX, and this process may take from 30-150 days ; and when the companies do fail to reply, then they will resubmit the process again. Moreover, I know theyre given me the run around and its effecting my credit reporting overall. Needless to say, I do find all concerns above as frustrating that needs a corrective action, so please call with the number listed. Thank you for investing your time in me. The ongoing of my federal student loan Process : The Dept of Education sold my loan to a Debt Management Company, then they wholesaled wholesaled to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, then reselling the loan to Navient Solution and finally the TXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX never received such loans that would ve closed all accounts.

Consumer Complaint: Recently, ( XX/XX/XXXX ), I had my payment to Navient refunded to me for the second time. The first time was XX/XX/XXXX.These were refunds for payments I made online. I sent an email to Navient for an explanation of the first time and received this response on XX/XX/XXXX : " Our records indicate your overpayment was made to your private loan, which overpaid the loan, and the private loan is serviced on a different platform than your Department of Education loans, with different payment addresses, so the payment does not get automatically transferred to your remaining loans, but goes out as a refund to you, which you could then apply to your Department of Education loans so they are not past due. '' I called them on XX/XX/XXXX to ask what was the deal when it happened again. Their response began with the private loan but ended with the mailing address for payments was changed recently. Two caveats, the agent I spoke with said that if the payment was within 30 days of the address change ( Which they said took effect XX/XX/XXXX ) then the payments should have been forwarded. BOTH payments were made before XX/XX/XXXX. The other caveat is both payments were made online, so there should have been no confusion about what loan it should have been going too. Additionally, I've looked all through my account and I don't see any private loans listed on the Naviant website. It shows two loans, both Dept. of Ed. And last, I have listed on my account that if I make any overpayments then it should go to principle and not be refunded to me.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 I received an email from Navient stating that my account was past due by {$750.00}. I called XX/XX/2019 and the Customer Service Agent informed me that when I paid a payment in the amount of {$150.00} on XX/XX/2019 to have my private loans placed in a three month forbearance, the agent during that call did not read all of the proper terms of agreement to place my loans in forbearance. During my XX/XX/2019 phone call, the agent proceeded to read the correct terms of agreements for forbearance to me and stated they would use a XX/XX/2019 payment to cover my forbearance payment to placed until payments resume in XXXX. She asked if I was okay with these terms, I stated no because I had my bank statement to prove that I made a payment XX/XX/2019. She then stated there was not a payment for that date and they could not find it. I later called back to speak to another agent, that is when I was informed that my {$150.00} payment on XX/XX/2019 was applied for XX/XX/2019 without my permission. As this should of been applied to XXXX 's payment. I had previously paid a {$150.00} XX/XX/2019 to place my private loans in a three month forbearance that would of covered XXXX, there would have been no need to apply the XXXX payment to the XXXX payment.

Consumer Complaint: Navient has failed to validate these accounts on my credit report. As seen by several attempts, Navient has either overlooked or ignored my requests several times to validate these accounts. Yet, they continue to report these account to my credit reports. XX/XX/2019 & XX/XX/2019 i sent a request for validation to Navient & Sallie Mae asking for an instrument of indebtedness. Both Navient & Sallie Mae have failed to respond correctly to each of these letters. Sallie Mae never responded and Navient responded " stating that if i wanted to discuss this account to contact them '' ... ... ... but I'm making contact with you through the letters, this response was in response to correspondence I sent YOU ... Navient is reporting these accounts to my credit reports without validation to me, without an instrument of indebtedness showing that these accounts are indeed mine. Futhermore, when i have disputed with the credit bureuas XXXX, XXXX and XXXX ... they have all came back and said that the accounts have been verified but none of them can show any proof of what that means. IT HAS NOW BEEN BEEN 107 DAYS SINCE I SENT MY FIRST REQUEST FOR VALIDATION TO NAVIENT AND SALLIE MAE AND TO THIS DAY NEITHER HAS VALIDATED THIS ACCOUNT, NEITHER HAS SHOWN THIS INSTRUMENT OF INDEBTEDNESS IN ITS ORIGINAL FORM. Navient is falsely reporting open and closed accounts on my credit reports. The following accounts are being falsely reported. RE : Account # # XXXX ( All accounts fall under this umbrella ) XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX
