Consumer Complaint: I would like to request a copy of promissory note reference on enclosed letter from Navient. The amount of interest charged during forbearance is atrocious especially when Navient failed to provide other options during my hardship.

Consumer Complaint: NAVIENT is intentionally delaying the approval of income-based payment plan application forcing me to repeatedly ask for administrative forbearance. After submitting my application electronically in XX/XX/2019 I was asked to provide proof of income which I did in XXXX. Then I was told it was missing a date which I included and resubmitted. After this was called several times to check on the status and I was told to just wait and that the proof of income I provided was sufficient. When I called today, XX/XX/2019 -- only four days away from the due date of an over {$600.00} payment ( which I can NOT pay ), they told me that I have to submit a signed letter stating my gross monthly income. The proof of income I previously submitted already has that information yet they ask for a letter and offer to push to payment due date or put me in forbearance for a third or fourth time. Even if I send in this letter, the processing time is 17 days which means it would be far beyond the payment due date by the time it is processed even if it is accepted. They did not ask me for a letter the previous two times and waited until I had no time left to force my hand into forbearance or a missed payment. I asked them where I can file a complaint but said there is no phone number for such a service. I also look online but no such page exists on their site.

Consumer Complaint: I have been misled and misinformed about the forbearance and deferment of my Navient student loans. My original principles on my loans have SKYROCKETED from $ XXXX to $ XXXX and from {$8600.00} to $ XXXX. That's approx. {$11000.00} that has accrued on top of my original principal. I have been unemployed on and off for the better part of 5 years. I have notified Navient several times and have even applied for loan discharge and wasn't properly notified about how to best go about this. This is highway robbery in an already convoluted industry that is stealing students ' money who can not afford to repay their loans in an affordable or otherwise pragmatic manner.

Consumer Complaint: Ive reached out to Navient the servicer of my student loan. Multiple times my accounts were switched to forbearance after calling navient why my accounts were being automatically switched without any notice. This has caused me to pay much more in interest to navient over the life of the loans. Navient has switched my accounts to forbearance multiple times without permission. When I try reaching out to Navient I have received multiple hang ups and the problem keeps occurring. XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: Good Morning, I am filing a complaint with the consumer financial protection bureau against Navient, my student loan service provider. Since XX/XX/XXXX i have held a student loan with them. From XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX/XX/XX/XXXX I have made my payments on time every single month. Typically we mail in 2 checks in one envelope to cover the costs of the loan. For the past 12 1/2 years we haven't had a problem. All of a sudden the past 6-7 months, every time we send our checks into Navient they are being misapplied. They keep telling us we owe them money when we send in exactly what their requesting of us on the bill each month. Theres no way we ever owe them anything else. And every month I have been calling them when I get the bill to discuss this with them ( Ive talked to two managers and countless reps ) and theyve admitted to me that theyve misapplied the payments. One manager told me to start sending in the checks and denote each loan number and amount on the bottom of the checks ... we did that and they're still misapplying them and saying we owe them. Of course they blame it on their computers and never once human error or carelessness. And every time I call them, they end up readjusting/updating my account to reflect paid on time status because they admit that I did send in what i was supposed to, its just that they misapplied it. I am beyond tired of having to call them every month for an obvious scam they're trying run. They need to be sued and shut down. Id appreciate a response. Thank you Kindly, Sincerely, XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I have had my loans in deferment for some time and then was scheduled to start making payments. I was making payments as much as I could but could not keep up with the payments for my XXXX degree when they were as much as my mortgage payment. I informed Navient that I was going back to school for the XXXX XXXX and they said I could defer the payments if my classes started before XX/XX/2018. I cant control when the classes start and it was conveniently too late to defer payments when the classes actually started. Navient offered to lower payments but would only do it if I provided my bank/credit card information to them so they could automatically withdraw payments. After learning of their lawsuit I was not comfortable with doing this. Now they have my loans in my credit report as a charge off and on a monthly basis report it as a late payment.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX a guard rail was damaged in a vehicle accident on the Florida XXXX. The driver of a truck owned by me was run off the road, Even though there were 2 witnesses to this fact the Trooper ( she was new/in training had to call her supervisor to ask what to do ) charged him with the accident. We hired an attorney and the witness statements were reviewed so it was dismissed, no charges to the driver. XXXX XXXX company confirmed if no charges then there is no liability to pay for the guard rail. This was all communicated to : XXXX XXXX Claims Assistant, Office of the General Counsel - FDOT, XXXX XXXX XXXX - XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX, Florida XXXX, Phone : ( XXXX ) XXXX Fax : ( XXXX ) XXXX. All documentation of dismissal and attorney 's contact information was provided. But then on XX/XX/XXXX I received a collection notice for guard rail damage {$6100.00} due to FDOT from Municipal Service Bureau, XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX, TX XXXX. It stated I could dispute within 30 days and they would mail back to me a verification of this debt. I then sent them a dispute letter via certified mail and I have proof they received it XX/XX/XXXX. I requested they check with FDOT as there is no liability on my part and I requested they close the case as invalid. As of today they have not mailed me any type of verification. They continue to have their agents call and leave messages that I need to pay this invalid debt. When I call back asking about my dispute no one will even acknowledge I sent one. I am being harassed over a debt that XXXX XXXX Co would have promptly paid if I owed it. I have a full property damage policy. I have again written to them today requesting they cease and desist.

Consumer Complaint: The company Sallie Mae was taken to court for defrauding service members such as myself in XX/XX/XXXX. My account was settled they issued a notice and release of claims. My loans were to be removed and I was to be paid a fee in exchange for not pursuing any further claims for damages. They were found guilty of fraud thereby violating the terms of the agreement rendering the contract no longer valid. Since then the company Sallie Mae transferred the old loans which were no longer valid to Navient who has now begun to harass me and reported to the credit agencies that I'm delinquent and they split it into 6 different accounts and this remains the status as of XX/XX/XXXX. The calls started in XX/XX/XXXX they pressured me into forbearance while I looked for the old paperwork to figure out the situation. They added on a bunch of fees and interest as well. The matter has already been litigated as I pointed out earlier. I have requested validation of the debt. I have demanded the original hand written promissory note signed between myself and Sallie Mae. I have also requested any and all documentation involving my loan to include the settlement documents from the previous litigation between Sallie Mae and the federal government in the state of California. They have not complied as I doubt they have any of the paperwork or they have it and are aware it proves the case of fraud against them.

Consumer Complaint: I have been having issued getting Navient to comply with documenting me on information they are reporting to Credit reporting Agencies under my file. information is reporting in duplicate and triplicate, reflecting accounting practices which I find discerning. I have fought them so that they accurately report paid accounts and document amount 's owed. The amounts have fluctuated wildly and the company insists documentation was provided to the CRA 's ( XXXX, XXXX and XXXX ) but has yet to actually investigate and copy me as to the matter. I have paid accounts and have tried to deal with the company to no avail. The university I attended is defunct. I need assistance in the matter.
