Consumer Complaint: Approximately 8 years ago I spoke with a representative from Navient as I was struggling with paying my student loans. I had actually asked about the Public Service Loan Forgiveness and was told that it wouldnt be right for me. Instead of making my loans direct loans which would make my monthly payments qualify for this forgiveness, they put me into an income driven plan. I only found out very recently that this was the wrong thing to do. My loans would have been forgiven after 120 payments. I have since learned from outside sources that I still need to consolidate my loans into direct loans and then make another 120 payments. At this point I have already been paying my loans for 13 years!! I am furious that they scammed me into paying so much more than I needed to. I trusted Navient to steer me into the right choices and they failed me.

Consumer Complaint: I am XXXX XXXX and when i called Navient solutions in XXXX to ask for private loan forgiveness due to XXXX XXXX they stated that I couldnt not because it was A private student loan thru sally Mae originally and i said that all my sallie Mae loans were forgiven and another one that was with A bank which was A private student loan. I asked again in XXXX, XXXX and they continue to say no and every year until i just noticed that this whole time, they have lied to me and call me every 6 months asking if i can Increase my payments. This company has put me in so much stress fighting with them that i was having XXXX and i just called them now and when i asked about loan forgiveness she said they dont offer it but as soon as i said thats actually not correct i had A company in XXXX private student loan and because Im XXXX XXXX it was forgiven and then she stated your doctor said your XXXX XXXX i said yes and why is your company stating you dont offer it when its actually available and she said Ill mail you the paperwork i said thats fine but Ive been paying monthly and i was lied to and all the stuff i had to go thru and now its me filing all over again plus its effected my credit etc I was taken to court by XXXX XXXX years ago for the same issues and finally after doing thru so much stress with them fighting for private loan forgiveness and doctors filing they approved it but Navient even went after my social security and had money taken out knowing i was XXXX and unable to work

Consumer Complaint: Good Morning, I know there is a lawsuit against Navient. I graduated from XXXX ( XXXX XXXX-XXXX XXXX ), XXXX XXXX College ( XXXX-XXXX ), and XXXX University ( XXXX in XXXX XXXX ). I have served over ten years in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, and I am being denied the {$18000.00} loan forgiveness because I had to combine my loans because I could not afford XXXX per month student loan payments. I have also been rejected for XXXX loan forgiveness ( I worked as a XXXX XXXX XXXX, etc. ), as well as public employee loan forgiveness. I am being denied three types of loan forgiveness programs because I had to combine my loans to ensure that I did not default on those loans because I would not be able to afford to pay them and was being a responsible adult. I upload all the documentation from Senator XXXX XXXX reply as well as the XXXX XXXX loan forgiveness denial letter from Sallie Mae. Sallie Mae transferred my loans to Navient. I now work at the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, New York which is another XXXX XXXX XXXX working with XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I have contacted Dpt ED/Navi they reported on my credit that the loans, they were supposed to make the correction to my credit report as the loans are reporting two or sometimes more for the same amount. It was explained that they would make the correction, but as of XX/XX/2019, the updates has not been made. When calling I am getting the run around such as call SallyMae, then I am referred back to Navient. Which the Dept ED/Navi are the people reporting on my credit

Consumer Complaint: My late son had me co-sign for his student loan a few years ago. He died in an accident XXXX XXXX in XXXX New York. I informed Navient and made some payments. Late 2018 Navient informed me that they would satisfy the loan with a one time payment of about XXXX dollars. I mailed them the check and about a month later they returned the money noting an overpayment. However my credit report shows a student loan balance of XXXX XXXX dollars. I notified Navient and the three credit reporting agencies and provided a copy of my sons death certificate. The reporting agencies show an active account when in fact the loan should be paid off and closed out. This negative information is affecting my overall credit scores.

Consumer Complaint: The company navient has lost my trust and hope to ever pay back my loans. I never can get the right amount I owe. The numbers change constantly on paper and over the phone. I Have been coerced I to getting money taken out of my paycheck but not actually telling me or exactly telling me that wouldnt happen even though they new thats what they where trying to get me to do almost ever time I call. I feel like the o my way to deal with them is by hdwritten letters thats how bad it is. They say if I pay XXXX dollars or XXXX they will forgive XXXX of dollars worth of loans. Nobody has yet given me a number in years and nobody knows? Something is quite not right here.

Consumer Complaint: I am unable to reach my loan servicer navient any other way but phone for my private student loans. They are variable interest rate loans and very high monthly payments around XXXX a month. I called to see if I was able to do anything to lower my monthly payment. When speaking with the right department finally she could only offer me a reduction of XXXX dollars a month for a period of 3 or 6 months and I could only do it once every 12 months. It was called an interest forbareance program. When i asked if i could get paper work showing that the monthly payment after the 3 or 6 months would not go through the roof she said she couldnt give me any thing in writing until I agreed. I told her i would have to think about it and call them back and she said if I didnt decide now then I may not have the option again.

My account became delinquent as the payments were rejected. I settled up the account but they refuse to fix my credit report. They are now rejecting my payments again and I do not know why. They are requesting I refinance the loan which I do not wish to do as I have enough issues with this one. I do not trust it would be smooth or an improvement
