Consumer Complaint: I have had the private student loan accounts serviced through Navient for over 10 years. I have been paying on them for a number of years as well. I am disabled ( XXXX XXXX survivor ). This last XXXX I was according to them more than 60 days late in paying my accounts. However, I can't figure out how they are applying my payments. I spent 2 hours on the phone with them today and I still am confused. They reported this to the credit bureau and my credit score has dropped considerably. I have an online account with them and though I receive monthly bills on the account I did not receive any notification online that they were going to report me to the credit bureau. Can you help? Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: Navient keeps calling me everyday. I had to look them up to find out what they were. I told the person I have no student loans. I confirmed my name. He insisted that I give them my social security number over the phone ... .I WILL NOT DO THAT! I even asked them to tell me my last four digits to confirm them ... .he refused. He will not take me off their list. I asked for a supervisor, he says he tried but they are all busy. I bet they are! He mentioned a university or college I have NEVER heard of ... that did not phase him. He mentioned an address supposedly for me that I have NEVER heard of ... that did not phase him either. If they are legitimate, why are they operating this way? I said send me a letter stating what you want because I am not giving out any information over the phone ... no response to that. I will say this also happened a few years ago, I asked them to stop and after a long while they finally did. But they have started up again. Any student loans I had were paid off long ago -- a fact that is verified on my credit report. I want this company to stop harassing me and all other innocent people!

Consumer Complaint: On Tuesday ( XX/XX/XXXX ) I applied for forbearance on my private Navient student loans due to flooding in Missouri ( natural disaster, state of emergency ). I was granted forbearance for 90 days which they told me started that day. We have auto draft and the payment was taken out of our account two days later, not sure why their system didnt put a stop on it. I called yesterday ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and they said they would issue a refund that would take 3-5 business days. I called today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) to confirm the refund was in process- over {$400.00} is a lot of money to just be sitting in limbo. The customer service rep told me today I had to submit my banking information. I told her the lady from the previous day said nothing about this. She apologized and then needed my banking information to process the refund. I told her she already had it because they auto draft our money every month. She then proceeded to tell me it would take 7-10 business days. I dont understand how this company is still in business. They have zero integrity, and their customer service is difficult to understand and does not give accurate information. This 90 days forbearance is suppose to be helping me, but instead is causing a huge headache and saving me XXXX money. I am a stay at home Mom of XXXX kids and pay over {$400.00} a month, how is this right? They offer no help, and one rep even suggested to switch carriers because there was nothing they could do to help me. As of now, I am calling my bank and issuing a refund because I can not trust that Navient put a refund on my account. This is a nightmare, and I understand why they are being sued.

Consumer Complaint: I haven received calls at XXXX every morning for this week from this company ( Navient ). I explained to 3 different reps that I was homeless last month and am currently no longer living at the zip code associated with my loans and they argued with me there is nothing we can do we go by the zip code and the area code off your phone number and when I explained that I havent changed my phone number but I now live in XXXX and not XXXX therefore a different time zone they still argued with me and gave me a hostile attitude. I have only missed 2 payments and they are harassing me calling me every single day and even leaving me voicemail messages when my voicemail explicitly says not to. The harassment has to stop I can not make a payment at this time I am unemployed and I just moved into a home as I was HOMELESS and literally found out I am pregnant the day I got to AZ, and have been so sick I am unable to look for a job as the XXXX is causing me to be severely ill and dropping weight rapidly. I have XXXX other children to take care of and the fact that Navient calls me at XXXX every morning forces my daily XXXX to begin early, therefor making me sicker for longer portions of the day.

Consumer Complaint: My two student loans were consolidated under XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX of XXXX at a combined total of {$41000.00}. Several times I inquired about how payments are applied and my balance. At XXXX point, XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I had paid a total of $ XXXX.Of this amount, {$230.00} has applied to late fees, {$15000.00} has applied to interest and the remainder of {$2600.00} has applied to the principal balance of the loan bringing it down the balance only {$39000.00}. Incredible, so after 7 years at that point, I'd only paid off less than {$3000.00} of the principal. Doesn't add up. I inquired about extra payments I made and received this statement, " We are unable to apply funds to the principal balance unless the late fees and the unpaid interest is satisfied. Therefore, if you are making extra payments or payments above and beyond the minimum monthly payment we can not designate for those funds to be applied directly to principal unless the above information has been satisfied. '' Very confusing statement as if I do not have any late fees or unpaid interest after making payment, anything extra should go directly towards the principal. I made extra payments often. Never the case. Most late fees came from issues with the site and payment processing. In XXXX XXXX, my loans were transferred to Navient by XXXX. I'm having a similar issue with payment calculations. As of today according to Navient, XX/XX/XXXX, I still owe {$44000.00} over the next 13 years until XXXX on top of nearly the $ 25,000+ I've paid between XXXX and Navient. To add insult to injury, Navient marked my first two payments late even though I was never notified of the due dates or anything of that after they were transferred. I received an email stating I'd receive information and the next communication I received was an overdue notice. This is unacceptable and unfair to the consumer because there is little we can do to rectify the situation. It doesn't take a genius to see what's happening as payments are applied in a fashion to keep the consumer in debt.

Consumer Complaint: Ive sent out a Cease and Desist letter to Navient requesting that they discontinue any calls or other forms of communicate with Me or the people that are claimed to be linked to my alleged debt with them. I received the certified receipt back and it says that Navient received and stamped it on XX/XX/2019. Since then, I have been receiving calls from Navient ( Several times on XXXX and the days after ). I have been keeping track. Navient has NOT respected my wishes and have been calling from different numbers, sometimes back to back. I received a call as of yesterday, XX/XX/2019. Last week, I answered the call and someone from Navient told asked for my Mom. My Mom is listed as a Co-signer, but the letter asked that calls be ceased with myself AND EVERYONE ASSOCIATED WITH SAID DEBT. Navient informed me that they didnt have to stop calling because the Ombudsman told them not to. I NEVER received anything in writing stating that and that statement she made is monitored and recorded. At this point, my rights are being abused and I am still being harassed about payments. I have been making payments, but when they call, they are asking for different amounts owed. I will be seeking assistance on how to handle this matter. I told them that my Mom does not have this number and they still call. One rep told me that she will not stop calling. HARASSMENT!

Consumer Complaint: Was told that interest would not ecru because I was not able to make payments due to unemployment from years XXXX to XXXX. Then because of other financial issues I was only able to make some payments. I asked about loan forgiveness and was repeatedly told if I was in a position that qualified, which I was, I would have to be in that position for a certain amount of years. I was told this several times. I was NEVER told that I had to make 90 straight payments. I went to school late in life and am now XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have also received penalties. When I argued over the last penalty fee, because it was totally unjustified, the woman told me not to worry about it. She said it goes on the back end of the loan and I didnt have to pay it until the end! I have asked about any help, programs reduction of the interest payments etc. Not only was I lied to, I can not find a way to pay this down! It has grown an extra 5,000! I am recently recovered from XXXX and dont know how I can pay this and my other debts. Surviving on my salary is hard enough, and taking on a second job is not an option because of my health. This company has repeatedly lied to me and I dont seem to have any recourse to fight them. I dont understand how they can do this and get away with it. I thought because it was a federal loan, it would be better than a loan from my local bank. I was so wrong. Is there anyone or any program that can help me?

Consumer Complaint: I was not properly notified that my student loan repayments were to begin. I regularly monitor my credit score, and discovered that my accounts were overdue when my score dropped roughly 150 points on XX/XX/19. I did not receive any correspondence via mail or phone, and due to the wording of their emails, they were sent directly to my spam folder, which I do not check. I immediately paid the amount due on XX/XX/19. When I called and spoke to a representative today, XX/XX/19, I was told that the credit report could not be removed despite inadequate notification and my prompt payment. I understand that issues with communication arise, however, my credit score should not be negatively impacted by this.
