Consumer Complaint: I had taken a loan from Sallimae which later was taken over by Navient. I have been very good with my loan repayments. Always on time as I am on auto repayment I havent missed even 1 payment. While signing the loan I very clearly remember it saying that if I am good with my loan repayment I will get a loan forgiveness for my last 6 months. However few months ago they increased my stating the the loan doesnt add up. I wasnt sure and now I think I am basically paying off the last 6 months loan forgiveness loan. I am am so upset. I dont have the time to fight them but I think they should be punished if they stealing money from hardworking taxing paying individuals Have attached a document stating my loan amount is changed. I had a fixed rate of interest and didnt default but they increased my payment which I am sure is to cover the last 6 months loan forgiveness for paying on time.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, -- I am very upset with Navient not honoring what was stated in a notification letter to me dated XX/XX/XXXX. -- The letter stated : " XXXX, your loans listed below are now successfully enrolled in our Auto Pay program. The payment amount of {$0.00} will be automatically extracted from your designated bank account on the same day of each month. Your first withdrawal will be XX/XX/XXXX. Loan Information LOAN DATE ORIGINAL LOAN AMOUNT OUTSTANDING PRINCIPAL INTEREST RATE LOAN PROGRAM XX/XX/XXXX {$33000.00} {$31000.00} XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX {$33000.00} {$38000.00} XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX {$33000.00} {$36000.00} XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX {$33000.00} {$35000.00} XXXX XXXX '' -- Since I received this confirmation in a letter from Navient, I believed that my loans would be at those interest rates stated in the letter. For some reason, only my 1st loan 's interest rate matched with what was stated in the letter, and the other 3 loans did not get enrolled into Autopay with new interest rate as the letter stated. -- I have been compounding interest on my other 3 loans at incorrect interest rates from XX/XX/XXXX until now. They have been compounding at 5.84 %, 5.31 %, 6 %., instead of what was stated in Navient 's confirmation letter. -- Even though I received confirmation of Autopay enrollment for ALL my loans in XX/XX/XXXX, they weren't aren't all enrolled into Autopay until XX/XX/XXXX because I had to submit the request again on XX/XX/XXXX. -- I want Navient to correct the amount of interest I have accrued from XX/XX/XXXX until now to reflect the interest rates that should have been implemented as per that confirmation letter. I should not be held responsible to pay for a mistake in the system that was on Navient 's part. -- I first emailed Navient to ask about the discrepancy and the response I received was only stating the current status of my loans and interest rate - which I was well aware of. There was no explanation as to why I needed to re-submit autopay enrollment request for the other 3 loans when I already did back in XX/XX/XXXX and received confirmation that they were all enrolled with new reduced interest rates. -- I called and spoke to Navient customer service representative XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX and he said he could not figure out why only 1 of my loans were enrolled into Autopay when I had received confirmation for all 4. He could not find any notices of cancellation or dis-enrollment, but he assured me that my loans are all enrolled in Autopay at this moment. When I asked if there was any way to retroactively correct my loan interest rates from XX/XX/XXXX until now, he said there was nothing that could be done.

Consumer Complaint: I have 2 separate lenders- XXXX and Navient. I was having trouble paying XXXX and Navient was still in the grace period this Spring ( 2019 ). I completed the income-based repayment request. XXXX lowered my payment. Navient determined that I can pay over $ XXXX. They are refusing to work with me for a payment option that works and are instead happy to help me go into forbearance and accrue more interest or simply default. This should be illegal- I want to pay them, but I also can not afford the amount they are proposing. I am not going to financially ruin my family to pay this back- that was not the point of going back to school. I am getting nowhere with the representatives at Navient.

Consumer Complaint: I submitted Income based repayment to Navient on XXXX/XXXX/19 well within my 45 day timeframe for processing my loans that were set to come out of grace on XXXX/XXXX/19. On XX/XX/XXXX I received emails that my IBR had been processed and approved. However the amounts approved are more than my income. I also have XXXX loans that are on IBR and are a {$0.00} a month payment. They are wanting {$140.00} on one set of loans and {$1300.00} on another. My AGI for the previous tax year is under XXXX well under the poverty line so I should have a {$0.00} IBR payment. Today my loans updated to a total amount due of {$1500.00} on XXXX/XXXX/19. I was told that my IBR submission wasn't processed for those loans and went to another loan. I am not sure why they can't get their information correctly and process my IBR correctly, I shouldn't have to submit my application 6 times like I have since XXXX. I resubmitted my application on XXXX/XXXX/19 and was told that I was due to pay the total amount due because it wouldn't be processed in time. This is ridiculous- this is more than I make a month and not even feasible when I have submitted what was due on the following dates : XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and now once again XXXX. This better be fixed ASAP.

Consumer Complaint: RE:XXXX. In response to my complaint, Navient said that they never told me that in order to change loan servicers I would need to consolidate my loan. That is what I was told. That is the reason that I consolidated my loan. Then they assigned the loan back to Navient and took all of the interest I had paid fromXX/XX/XXXX toXX/XX/XXXX. I requested that Navient send me the consolidation paperwork which states that reason for the consolidation. They sent me the consolidation paperwork and the reason for the consolidation is not stated. Please ask Navient to produce the loan consolidation paperwork from XX/XX/XXXX with the reason for consolidation.

Consumer Complaint: I have been contacting and working with Navient [ again ] for the past 13 months, [ last XX/XX/2018 i contacted and tried to get my Loan modified, and they turned around and AGAIN changed the terms and payment and have me pay ever MORE, by charging me for a " Forbearance '' and charging me over {$63.00} PER MONTH, just to use the Forbearance, while adding to my overall penalties from the last time they extorted me from over 20 years ago, and my loan then was {$10000.00}, now it is closer to {$16000.00}! I have talked to NUMEROUS people and agents, and they always have steered me to wrong options and financial choices, on trying to repay the student loan, as i wanted a INCOME BASED PAYMENT, and Navient [ after numerous requests! ] does not send me the payment history [ i have paid this for over 10-13 years BEFORE I LOST INCOME! ] and the payments keep going up since MY payments only include the interest NOT the principle of the loan! I have been VERY PATIENT, and have most documents and old papers they have sent to me for the past 27 years and more! My school closed down, [ XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ] after the months i graduated. I have not found much work as the school was a fraud! CAN you help me with dealing with them, as i suffer now from XXXX and maybe have to drop out the work force! If you can help i think i can provide much more. Thank You!

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Problem lowering your monthly payments
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I made a call into Navient to try and lower my payment but was not given any options outside of forbearance. I attempted to explain that I had paid {$92000.00} on my loans to date over the course of ten years and yet still owe them {$83000.00} to which I was given the reply, " Well, that is because your interest is accruing daily and you are on a variable interest rate loan. If you start making extra payments per month, your amount owed will decrease. '' I tried to explain, THAT'S THE PROBLEM! I can't continue to make a {$770.00} per month payment every month, especially knowing I am not even hardly touching my principal! I am XXXX and need to move out of my parents house as they are retiring soon but can not because I can not afford rent with this type of payment. My 3 largest loans are at variable 10.5 % interest rate and continue to go up every year, if not every 6 months, making them practically untouchable when I make a payment every month. I feel as though I will never get out from under this and they are not willing to budge either. Back in XX/XX/XXXX, I did remove the majority of my Federal Loans from them and consolidated them with XXXX XXXX, removing {$10000.00} of the debt from Navient ( if I hadn't done that, I'd still owe Navient over {$93000.00}, having originally borrowed around {$110000.00} ) How are these types of loans even allowed to consumers? I feel as though I have signed my life away, with no end in sight to this debt. I have paid faithfully since graduating in XX/XX/XXXX and have NEVER, EVER missed a payment. And when I started paying the loans back in XX/XX/XXXX, I was advised by my school to sign up for interest only payments as that was my lowest possible payment option ( around $ XXXX/month ) right out of school. I did that for 4 YEARS! It got me nowhere but into more debt! And Navient continues to push this option, which is robbery. They push only forbearance and interest-only payment options, offering nothing else to me. I am hoping the CFPB will investigate as to whether my payments are even being allocated correctly, because I find it astounding that I have paid Navient over {$92000.00} over the course of ten years and yet still owe them {$83000.00} at the moment. How can they do this?

Consumer Complaint: When I took out a loan with Navient back in XX/XX/XXXX we made every monthly payment for about a yr, My mother was a cosigner on the loan it was for XXXX long story short she had to file bankruptcy and because you can't go bankrupt on Sallie mai " Navient '' they were getting paid through the bankruptcy every month for 5yrs they had received XXXX on top of what I already paid them and for some reason when I spoke with them they didn't have clue what I was talking about even though we had proof from the bankruptcy lawyer they basically told me they didn't care what proof I had and they dared me to get a lawyer! NO JOKE!! Now after fighting with them and getting discouraged 4 or 5yrs later " present time '' I owe around XXXX on my XXXX loan! I tried calling lawyers, I tried talking to them but nobody would hear me out!! I dont know what to do!?!? I refuse to pay them anymore and because of that every month 150+ gets added to my debt! This is madness! They have ruined the last 8yrs of my life!

Consumer Complaint: I filed for closed school loan discharge. I noted that I had withdrew prior to the school closing once we were informed of the loss of accreditation/lawsuit notice but no more than the 120 days it states..according to chapter 6 that was considered part of the exceptional circumstance and I should have still been eligible. I have also filed for the fraud discharge because they took money and forged my signature. Both applications were denied and was not given any info on how to appealthe decision.
