Subissue: Problem lowering your monthly payments
Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX Navient Office of the Customer Advocate XXXX XXXX XXXX, PA XXXX Ms XXXX, Thank you for finally providing a name to communicate with and your response of XX/XX/XXXX, as it proves you are NO advocate for your customers. You were asked one simple question : What dates concurrent with my XX/XX/XXXX IBR submission will satify you? Instead of an answer, I receive your assertion that all is well, and that I must now submit a recalculation request? WHY was this information not in the months of replies I received previously? This is just one more ploy to continue bleeding me dry. You clearly have made NO ATTEMPT to review the entire communication string. I have requested the recalculation, in writing, multiple times and been ignored. You have a statement from my current employer in XX/XX/XXXX to the effect that my salary had decreased. You have copies of my paycheck statements, which CLEARLY demonstrated that I have not made more than $ 60-65,000 since XX/XX/XXXX. NOW you need another XXXX document? You know perfectly well that circumstances change, and your own website states that when this happens, proof of new income level ( paychecks, etc. ). There is nothing about an additional form. Why was I not sent a link to this precious form in any of the prior communications? There can be only one reason : to continue to bilk me out of monies you have no right to! The law gives you NO RIGHT to calculate repayments off of my gross earnings. You are entitled to a percentage of my discretionary income, yet every year, instead you attempt to skim that percentage off my gross income instead. https : //studentaid.ed.govXXXX IBR Plan Generally 10 percent of your discretionary income if you're a new borrower on or after XX/XX/XXXX*, but never more than the 10-year Standard Repayment Plan amount Generally 15 percent of your discretionary income if you're not a new borrower on or after XX/XX/XXXX, but never more than the 10-year Standard Repayment Plan amount My rent and utilities is approximately $ 1500/month am I expected to sleep in my car? My credit card balance is {$11000.00}, due to an unexpected surgery for one of my dogs was I supposed to let her die? Do you expect me to ignore my credit card repayment so that you can take more than your fair share? I am already down to bare bones to afford the necessary XXXX foods my pets and I require, and the vet bills for my rescue dogs unexpected health challenges. I have a 7-year-old XXXX phone, and a wi-fi only internet connection. I live in a XXXX apartment, subjected to noise, smoke, rats occasional roaches and shootings. No frills, no cable, no expensive phone plan, and I mostly staycation so that I can afford to pay my student loans! You will kindly provide the XXXX form you suddenly say you require. And you will kindly come into compliance with the law, and base your repayment percentage on my disposable income, instead of my gross income. You will also kindly begin the process of loan forgiveness, as I will have been paying on my student loans consistently since the year XXXX, and I believe that I am eligible for loan forgiveness after 20 years? Thank you, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, WA XXXX

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XX/XX/XXXX I am formally lodging a complaint against Sallie Mae now Navient with your bureau. I have been battling this company for nearly twelve ( 12 ) years. I informed Sallie Mae in XXXX of XXXX, that I neither applied, approve, authorized nor co-signed for any loan or loans for XXXX XXXX. Whenever, I considered the average semester student cost ( XXXX University ) of nearly {$1600.00} for XXXX ( who lived at home ), I can't justify why any financial institution would ever approve reference # XXXX for any of the numerous loans of # XXXX for {$1800.00} ; {$8400.00} ; {$6500.00} and {$18000.00} respectfully? Furthermore, at no time did Sallie Mae contact me directly to verify, before executing any of these loans. In addition, I have obtained copies of these loans over the years and there is no actual or physical signature on any of the loan, neither mines nor XXXX XXXX, just a computered or typed in signature. Over the years, I personally have not made any monthly payment on any of these unrealistic loans. Since the sale of or just name change to Navient, I have stated my position as previously declared to Sallie Mae. Currently, they have declared the loans are in default and up for litigation or settlement with a reference to a IRS 1099-C. The settlement offer of {$10000.00}, would allow me as co-signer to be waived for the loans. Frankly, if I could afford it, I would not pay for any of these loans that were never authorized or approved. Furthermore, had Sallie Mae performed its ' due diligence these loans would have never been executed. Thank you in advance for your assistance concerning this matter. Yes I be will fighting this to the bitter end and am accepting any help or suggestions concerning this matter. Cordially, Ms. XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: Navient called me this morning for a 3 week past due payment. It was XXXX on Sunday. After they confirmed my identity the woman refused to tell me who was calling. She ignored my questions. My parents are elderly and I was worried it was a hospital calling. Once she told me there was a past due payment I knew it was Navient because thats the only outstanding payment that I have. Isnt it legally required they identify themselves when asked? Navient is such trash anyways for their predatory practices- they need to ID themselves when asked who they are.

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: I have been paying my student loan on time for several years.I had requested to pay more each month approximately $ 100- $ 200.00- but Navient wont approve it. I am on a payment plan of lower payments due to my income ( approx. {$64.00} ). I made a lump sum payment ( approx : {$500.00} ) on XX/XX/2019 because I had saved some money. I want to keep paying every month according to what I can afford. Navient approved me to continue the low repayment plan in XX/XX/2019- however all of a sudden in XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/2019 Navient increased my payment to {$960.00} approximately half of my total wages. I called Navient on XX/XX/2019 and instead of continuing my repayment plan as was established they insisted on a Forbearance- now they are again saying I must pay an amount that will be impossible. ( half of my wages ) It is very difficult to manage the process with Navient-I am not a loan expert. I want to pay my loans as I can afford and I have been diligently. My account shows I have been on time and paying for several years without lateness. Please help me to fix this problem. XXXX XXXX XXXX -Navient Loan # XXXX

Consumer Complaint: In 2015 when I was XXXX with a high risk medical condition Navient steered me into forbearance as opposed to a {$0.00} IBR payment option that was available to me. I have been continuing discussions with a Navient Advocate who is deceptive and strings me along with no response. Ive asked for the recordings of my calls and Navient refuses to give them to me that prove their deceptive trade practices. I have everything in written emails.

Consumer Complaint: My loan company is Navient, and as we know already Navient has had some serious issues in the repayment aspect of student loan borrowers. Navient has only tried to contact me through my school email, never once sent anything to my home address ( as they legally should ) and never once contacted me on my phone. They actually stated on the phone call that they had my sisters number as a contact because they only reach out to those that may have contact with me, but she never had any loans through them. The only reason I finally reached out to them was because I take my credit score very seriously, and learned of " serious deliquences '' that happened to be from Navient. I have another loan company, XXXX, who has contacted me and sent information home, in writing, to help with every step of the way, from deferrment to repayment. I am not asking for loan forgiveness, but I believe that Navient purposely hid this loan from me in order to have my interest shoot up, and in turn hurt my credit score, which hurts my personal life all for their gain. Lastly, on the phone they pushed for me to go into forbearance as they had with many people in their case in order to help them gain money. I did so because it seemed to be my only option and it was before I read up on the case against the entire company. I would like the interest forgiven and for them to put my payments back into a constant payment plan, and I need your help.

Consumer Complaint: I took out loans to pay for XXXX school and my loans were re-sold to other companies often and could not keep track of my loans until ultimately purchased by NAvient. As a XXXX XXXX I paid tuition with loans and was offered only forberance options. AS a XXXX making minimal money I was constantly put in foreberance as my " best option '' until I completed XXXX. By then my {$200.00}, 000 loans were now over {$320000.00} with over {$100000.00} of it at 8.9 %. I was cheated and never offered incombe based repayment plans until more recently and still have over {$100.00}, 000 in debt after already paying over {$200.00}, 000 to NAvient. I still live check to check because of these loans

Consumer Complaint: I have been trying to work with Navient who purchased my student loans onXX/XX/2011. Loan # XXXX. XXXX. Loan # XXXX XXXX. I was reviewing the details of the loan and discovered the disbursements amounts were not correct and I requested a validation of the debt and never received one. When I attended the school for these loans the cost was appx 13,000. I believe there has been a mistake and I have been paying for it for many years. If you are able to help me get some validation of this debt I would appreciate it.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX I asked how much in late fees I owed and on XX/XX/XXXX I got a letter saying I only had {$12.00} in late fees on my student loans. I wrote a check dated XX/XX/XXXX for the {$12.00} and I specifically stated I wanted the money to go for the late fee. I even wrote on the front of the statement that I wanted it to go towards the late fee. On XXXX, XXXX I looked at my account and they had charged me the late fee and didn't apply the {$12.00} towards the late fee as I asked. Furthermore, I emailed them to ask why they didn't apply it to the late fee and they ignored me. I have a duplicate of the check I wrote included in this.
